This guy is Heimiomyces tenuipes (formerly Xermophalina tenuipes)! This species has a common name- the Orange Faint Foot.
I found this in SE Nebraska, in May, on fallen hardwood.
The stipes of these are tough and hollow (hollow center showed in image below), tend to be dark brown, and densely covered with fine, velvety hairs.
The gills in this specimen were pale yellow in color. My research on this species found that the gills are often forked, but in this case, they seemed more or less whole, plate-like gills. The gills also tend to be attached to the stipe with a notch (best seen in the second image, where the gills shift to a darker orangish-brown from the pale yellow). They produce white spores.
Edibility for this species seems unknown, but not recommended due to its tough or rubbery texture.
Don’t munch on a hunch!

Got some gorgeous photos of the Blue Supermoon back in August! I’m not sure why the second one doubled the image, but it’s super cool :)

I think I just did a thing that Chris Traeger from Parks and Rec would do. I had mild/dull pain around my hip/lower right abdomen and assumed I had appendicitis and that I was going to die. So I did the jump test and there was no pain. And then I remembered that I am prone to tendinitis and the pain is probably from overworking/straining my hips.
