Viral Interventions - Final Proposal
For the final proposal, our group chose to go ahead and move forward with the sticker idea.
Our sentence was “Protect the kids, ignore the restrictions, the inevitable aurora rises from the ash and smoke, the grimy prize of ignorance.” Our overall sentence relates to the LGBTQ+ community, and that was the main idea we worked with when creating these sticker designs.
The second part of our proposal is to print these out and paste them in different locations that aren't just on campus.
Materials: iPad/Procreate, Photoshop

Viral Interventions - Final Artifact

For our final artifact we chose to place each sticker design on a skateboard.
At first we decided to display our artifact against another piece that had been left behind from a previous person. It was propped up against a wall horizontally, on top of the other work.
We thought the look of the other work combined with our own worked well together to display the feeling or look of a skate park as that ties into the artifact itself.
We then moved it to another wall and leaned it up vertically for everyone to look at, which ended up giving the artifact a whole new perspective.

Viral Interventions - Final Documentation (2)
Here is the second part to our final documentation.
A group member of our decided to take some stickers with them and go out to Doral in order to display these designs to the public. Luckily even during the time of day that they went, there were still some people out and about.
Not many people had interacted with or acknowledged the stickers and QR codes that were placed around but it was interesting to see the people walk by minding their own business while our groupmate filmed all of the sticker locations.

Viral Interventions - Final Documentation (1)
Here is the first part of our final documentation, as there are two videos.
This video was made to show our process and progress of how our project came to be. We wanted to bring our sentence to life in a visual way with the form of stickers.
Starting from the stickers being designed/made to the carrd/QR code with informational links, and lastly the chosen artifact with our sticker added to it.
Materials: iPad/Procreate, Photoshop, sketchbook, laptop, sticker maker machine, scissors.

Viral Interventions - Process

During our process as a group we were able to accomplish all of our goals and add more ideas onto our original idea. It started off as the simple "make stickers and paste them around campus" to making stickers, going outside of campus, making a carrd with additional resources/links that relate to our topic and pasting the QR code for the public to see and scan.
Our process went by smoothly and everyone was able to complete their part in time.
The process pictures I included showcase the beginning idea sketches, the finalized versions, the process of the stickers being made/cut out, and the carrd being created.
Materials: iPad/Procreate, Photoshop, sketchbook, laptop, sticker maker machine, scissors.

Viral Interventions - Identify

The word I chose from my article was "prize". In the context of the article, the prize refers to money. Because of this I chose to use green and gold/yellow as I associate these colors with money (dollar bills/coins). I chose a flashy background to really play into the theme of a prize that one has received.
As for the font, the reason I chose it is simple. The name of this font is called "Luckiest Guy" which is very fitting for the lucky lottery winner.

Viral Interventions - Source
Here is the article that I chose to work with for the beginning part of this project: https://winknews.com/2023/11/20/lottery-ticket-unclaimed/
Its a simple and short article about a Florida lottery winner that had not yet claimed their prize money. I decided to go with the word "prize" as I believe it sums up the entire article pretty well. I also chose this article as it was a recent event, the article was written on the same day that I chose it.

SECOND SESSION 3D TUMBLR PORTFOLIO
#1 Assignment: 25°45'10.0"N80°22'56.5"W
#2 Assignment: Iconic Places
#3 Assignment: Framing the Space
#4 Assignment: Flag Race Challenge

Flag Race Challenge

For our flag project, we had to create a flag and tie it back to the theme of our previous framing project. We also had to keep in mind the use of hierarchy for our designs.
I still had my leftover stars back at home from framing project where I cut starts into a pair of jeans. I wanted to use those stars for my flag. It may be a bit hard to tell from the picture alone, but I lined them up from biggest star to smallest star (bottom to top), as they were all different sizes. I wanted to add more so I cut out more star shapes using paper.
I wanted the theme to remain a starry night sky.
My partner and I finished during the class work time and had waited for the heavy rain to stop in order to do the race. We were able to do it while the sun was still mostly out before sunset.

Framing The Space

This assignment tasked us with creating our own version of a "frame" using any fabrics of our choice.
I started off with the simple idea of using a large black cloth and cutting start into it, and then pointing a light through it. I realized that not only did I not have the material I needed, but I also wanted to elevate my idea into a better one.
I changed the cloth for a stronger material like the jeans, so it could hold up the star shape without falling apart when it is held up for display. I prefer this design way more than my last one as I believe it is more aesthetically pleasing to they eye. I also think it represents the whole "frame" theme as well. The stars framed by the jeans, the jeans framed by the light surrounding it.
Having the room be completely dark as I cast the flashlight onto the jeans was another part of my idea. I was aiming to create a nighttime feeling with the light and stars.

Iconic Locations
For this assignment we were asked to go out into the world and make a one minute video of a place we feel is important to us in some way. We had to shoot an overview video and put it side by side with some close-up shots.
For my “iconic location” I chose a park that is nearby my house. It was a park that I used to visit very often with my family and I thought it would be nice to return and make a video of this place.
When in the editing process, I thought a lot about what song I wanted to choose and how to tie it into my overall theme. I wanted to go for a nostalgic vibe so I put filters that I feel like represented the nostalgic feeling I was thinking of.

Assignment 25°45'10.0"N80°22'56.5"W

For this assignment we were tasked with transforming this small room space using any items of our choosing paired with LED light color/colors of our choice.
I decided to bring in items from my home instead of creating a performance piece to show off. I brough in a hat, manga books, and jewelry. As for the lights I chose purple.
When I think about the color purple I think of one of my close friends, as this is her favorite color. All of these items that I chose to display relate to this line of thinking due to the fact that they are all gifts from this friend of mine.
In the end I thought they both worked well together, they are personal items that have a correlation to the color I chose and anyone was free to step into the room to take a closer look.
