I love dp x DC stories in which Ghost King Danny is summoned in his full Eldritch form and scaring the shit out of everyone. I also like it when it combines with aus of him talking in ghost speak and the translation gets wrangled, so he sounds a lot more threatening than he means to.

But in those stories ... his name doesn't really fit. What Eldritch God would be called Danny? Even Phantom isn't that scary.

Then I realized that if ghost speak gets translates wrongly and Danny said his name in ghost speak ... wouldn't it be translated wrong too?

And Daniel means God is my Judge in Hebrew while Phantom of course is a kind of ghost.

So,

The Justice League has summoned Danny and he doesn't realize that he's in his Eldritch form. His skin is black and filled with galaxies constantly being born and dying. His eyes are two endless black holes. His hair is the flash of the big bang. He's terrifying and awe-inspiring.

As he speaks, it sounds like millions of beings screaming in agony before breathing their last breath.

And then Danny says "Hi! My name is Danny Phantom, the Ghost King, how can I help you?"

But what the JL hears through the translation is: "I am the Judge of Gods and the restless Dead, Ruler of the Infinite, for what purpose hath thee summoned me?"

Now that's a fitting name!

Instead of John being scared of Amity, he actually loves it there.

- It's a powerful magical nexus that can allow the house of mysteries to fully magically fuel itself in a matter of a couple hours

- He can easily access any dimension or draw beings from any dimension there due to the veil being so thin.

- He has access to the current heirs of the power and curse of Cassandra.

- Several hunters and their civilian families live there.

- The city itself prevents those with true hostile intentions from finding their way into amity.

In short, Amity was basically the perfect magical community for someone like him.

So, would someone tell him what happened in the decade he was away? This place fucking reeks of DEATH energy. Half the fucking town is residing in the veil itself, and the veil is heavily scarred with shattering patterns for kilometers around.

The other night husband and I were watching a documentary about the yeti where they were doing DNA analysis of samples of supposed yeti fur, and every one of them came back as bears.

Anyway, the next night we watched a thing about some pig man who is supposed to live in Vermont. People said it had claws and a pig nose but walked upright like a man. Now, I happen to know that sideshows used to shave bears and present them as pig men. So every piece of evidence they gave of this monster sounds to me like a bear with mange.

So now the running joke in our house is that everything is bears. Aliens? Bears. Loch Ness monster? Bear. Every cryptozoological mystery is just a very crafty bear.

Bears. They’re everywhere. Be wary. Anyone or anything could be a bear.

Listen my dudes Ancient Egypt existed for a really fuckass long time. Literally just Pharaonic civilization lasted 3,000 years. That’s not even including predynastic civilization and Roman rule. If you lump that in you’re looking at more like… 5,000 years. Like. If you want a comparison of how long that is: THE YEAR IS CURRENTLY 2018. TWO THOUSAND. TWO-THIRDS OF ANCIENT EGYPTIAN PHARAONIC CIVILIZATION HAVE HAPPENED SINCE THE ‘BIRTH OF JESUS CHRIST’ We comparatively just entered the Third Intermediate Period. The Greeks will not take over for another 700~ years. Cleopatra will not be born until the year 2931.

Danny has found a small-ish floating island in the Zone that isn't claimed by anyone. Dibs.

He starts altering it, and finds out that for ghosts it's like, super easy. He's literally just grabbing bits of ecto and forming it into what he wants, like putty.

He takes inspiration from his favorite Animal Crossing save, and shapes this floating island to be a place for him to just...go chill.

He names it the same thing he named his Animal Crossing island; Potato.

Danny loves Potato Island. It's his new favorite place to go to unwind.

The blob ghosts like his little ecto lakes and ponds, and will take the form of random fish to play in them. Some of them like to pretend to be caught when he goes "fishing", and are very proud when he takes photos with them and tells them what a big catch they are.

There's his house, based on the Animal Crossing one he designed, and there's a few other empty ones as well.

There's shops, based after the ones on his islands, that have no wares and no one to run them.

But that's fine, this is all just so he can relax.

Except one day, a ghost he hasn't met before asks if they can have one of the houses. That in return, they'll run one of the shops.

Danny agrees! He was getting kind of lonely anyways, and he's not on the island all the time.

Then another ghost asked. Then another.

Now his little project island is a bustling avenue of shops and locals, with celebrations for Ghost holidays he's never heard of planned out, and a small city council to gather up concerns and bring them to his attention if the city council can't resolve them.

Usually it's infrastructure, since no one but Danny can make alterations to the island. The political stuff stays firmly in the hands of the elected officials.

Potato Island is a small, peaceful hub of trade and Danny is Very Proud.

Meanwhile, the Justice League Dark is very happy that there's an interdimensional, peaceful trading village in the Infinite Realms that they can do their shopping at with ease.

The locals like to barter, which is ideal for Magic Users, and Potato Island (wild name but whatever) is protected by a very powerful spirit, so JLD members don't have to worry about being attacked while there.

Billy, though; Billy has a whole other reason to seek Potato Island out; he needs a place to live as a human. He can open his own portals and go back to Earth, and he's not stupid, he knows not to eat food from the Realms, but he's...a little tired of being homeless.

As Captain Marvel, everyone thinks he's an adult and that he has a secret base to live in.

But as Billy, who no one in the hero community knows, he's been living on the streets, and he wants security.

So the next time he goes to Potato Island, he explores it, searching for the Island's guardian; Phantom.

He has a favor to ask.

The last days of the petition against conversion therapy are FASCINATING to watch. I have been following it pretty closely for almost a year now, and the progress was, above all, steady. There was this jump when some algorithm in Finland picked it up, but even that was local.

And now, everyone is panicking.

Which really shows.

These past three or four days, multiple countries have reached the threshold. Even more notably, the number of signatures in total, the ones that we need to get one million of, are growing rapidly. There are only 400'000 signatures missing. Two days ago, it was closer to 600'000.

how do you find all these good tsr textures, especially for maxis recolors? their search is so user-unfriendly to me

It is user-unfriendly for sure, the answer is I spend an inordinate amount of time on TSR. I just go from post to post via the 'you may also like' thing or whatever they call it, where related posts are shown under the post you're looking at, and I find creators that way. When one thing someone made peaks my interest, I go through their whole page. I end up sifting through a lot of stuff that I'm not interested in but from time to time I find a gem, or a whole treasure trove if it turns out that creator has made a lot of stuff of the same quality.

I've been encountering this screen when clicking on posts sometimes:

Even on posts that I was able to access some time ago. To my knowledge there's no workaround. It's pretty sad to see CC being lost that way so I started making backups. I've been downloading tons of stuff from creators I like and putting them in tidy folders with pictures and all. I'm not paying for any of it so every time I download something I do go through the waiting time and at this point I must have accumulated hours of it combined, plus sometimes you have to hunt for meshes, but I think it's worth it. If TSR goes down at some point or the "Ooops" screen of doom starts popping up more and more, I'll still have the goods and I'll be happy to share.

Teen Titans level power Danny Phantom is a hero with a pretty average level of superhero trauma and a decent rogues gallery. The one thing about him that’s wildly different isn’t even about his powers. Hell, The ghost teen might not even know about it.

Raven was the first to notice the Half-Ghost’s wards. The magic so strong that she felt wary to approach him even though the wards are written to not harm friends or civilians. The unsuspecting Midwest hero was protected by time itself.

I have seen the idea in Danny Phantom fics that the ghost zone connects alternate universes to each other. This makes me want a fic where Danny has a bad reveal with his family, escapes to the ghost zone, then goes to another world where Danny just straight up died in his accident. In their grief, his parents completely abandoned their research.

These alternate Fentons don't care that Danny is half ghost, nor that he is from another world, they are just so happy he is here. Now Danny has x2 Jazz, Sam, and Tucker.
