               THE UNEXPECTED CONFRONTATION LEFT HIM SPEECHLESS, the amount of emotion displayed so passionately catching him completely off guard. it would appear that his attempt at motivation had hit a nerve. he remained silent for the moment, his jaw twitching in contemplation. it would be a waste of breathe to argue with her accusations seeing as she wouldn’t understand, how could she? a hand reached out, but it stopped before establishing contact. micha was upset, she had every right to be, but that didn’t mean she needed comfort.  “ i’m not the one who requires saving. ”  arms folded as the hound did his best to keep his tone soothing. i’m not worth saving. a thought embedded so deeply it refused to leave his tongue.  “ unlike you, i am replaceable. never forget that and NEVER put yourself in harms way, especially not for my sake. ”  his gaze shifted, a slow turn of the head revealing concerned eyes. how was that for honesty.

                                   THE TASTE OF IRON COATS HIS TONGUE, every nerve in his body screaming. it was impossible to tell where it hurt and where it didn’t. dazed and confused his eyes gradually opened; desperately trying to remember anything that could provide substance. the view that greeted him was that of a vixen; limbs splayed out and chained to the wall. it would have been a most welcomed sight had it not been for the fact that he was facing the same predicament. suppose spending time with her had been a mistake. such a shame she had become one of the few he could actually stomach ever since his descent. there was no judgement, no complications, no attachment --- and yet, seeing her beaten and bloody was less satisfying that he had hoped.  “ yenna? ”  the hound made an attempt to keep his breath shallow, the pain of inflating lungs and broken ribs making it challenging to speak.  “ wake up---  ”

            the excited tail told si everything he needed to know, as long as the dog was happy, sichan kept smiling. “ yeah? you wanna introduce yourself, eh? ” a lighthearted laugh followed a smooth hand grabbed kai’s paw. so soft. ( sichan melted all over again. ) for a brief moment his hand left the black fur, the dog deserved a treat just for being cute in si’s opinion. a quick search through almost empty pockets resulted in si holding a dog treat in a folded palm. ( who knew how long it had been there? ) “ you want this, boy? show me a trick then, can you roll over? ” 

                       FRONT PAWS CONNECTED WITH THE MAN’S CHEST, knocking him off balance. a curious nose tried to pry the treat free seeing as rolling over was not an option. frustrated by the lack of process, a new plan of attack was set in motion. a series of sloppy kisses connected with the man’s face, a truly horrible attack for those who were around to witness it. the dog was beyond ferocious, si might not make it out alive.

                          IT WAS THE SHRIEKING THAT MADE HIM JUMP, mind automatically assuming the worst. a wave of relief washed over him as the warmth from the sheep spread through his body; at least nothing had dragged him off into the woods. protective arms wrapped themselves around the timid frame, a soft sigh escaping him. their situation was less then ideal, but thankfully injuries had yet to occur.  “ sure, if that’s what you want. personally i would prefer something that would provide more cover. ”  he assumed a cave was out of the question, not that finding one would be impossible, but rather getting yang to enter it voluntarily. suppose one of the bigger trees would have to suffice.  “ yes, it is. you made a mistake and now you can learn from it. hopefully, in the future, this won’t happen again. ”  some distance grew between them, kai’s hands now cupping the others face.  “ i might not show up next time. ”  a lie of course, but maybe it would prevent the sheep from continuing this reckless behavior.  “ what were you even doing out here? ”

                         “ I’LL RELAX WHEN YOU’RE SAFE. ”  an aspiration that seemed more impossible for every passing day, as if darkness was determined to swallow her whole. the pressure applied to aching muscles was an odd sensation as pleasure mixed with the pain. the doe was right, he really should take better care of himself. luckily for him, ki knew when to step in. who was he to deny her requests for tranquility? constantly worrying about the well-being of others was gradually starting to take its toll, not only physically, but mentally. cool drops of water felt like fallen stars against heated skin, the weight of her body soothing even his most restless nerves. in an ideal world this would forever remain their safe haven, but some things weren't meant to last. the sudden attention brought to the unholy markings decorating his flesh caused muscles to tense. OBEY. OBEY. OBEY.  “ then don’t ask. ”  the sense of extreme vulnerability left him fighting the urge to buck her off.
