I want to build a nice patio in my yard with brick pavers and I happen to not have any experience in the field. Therefore, I searched extensively on the internet on how to build such a patio. I want to get the job done by myself, therefore I want to learn all techniques required for the job.

This patio happens to be super easy to build and highly durable. Once you level the ground you need to pour a concrete slab that is best to be reinforced with rebars. Next, you go with a 1″ layer of sand and then install the bricks in the required pattern. Really simple! Simple as that to make your own garden patio with brick pavers!

How to install drywall ceiling

Prepare the surface

Before hanging drywall to the ceiling, you need to inspect the metal stud ceiling thoroughly. Pay attention to the surface, making sure the brackets secure the metal studs to the support beams. Use a spirit level to check if the surface is perfectly horizontal. Set the drywall sheets to a level surface when buying them.

Ask a friend to help you

The drywall sheets are heavy, so you can’t lift them from the ground and install them to the ceiling all by yourself. An extra pair of hands are essential, so make sure you have a friend around. Start with a full sheet and with a corner of your room. Use 1 1/4″ drywall screws to lock the sheets to the suds. Generally speaking, most drywall sheets have pre-marked spots for where you should insert the screws. 

Tape and Mud the seams

After you install drywall to the whole ceiling, you need to tape and mud the seams. Mix a quantity of joint compound and apply it to the seams using a 6″ knife. Afterwards, set the paper tape to the seams, making sure you center it over the middle. Use the trowel to press the tape into the mud and to squeeze the excess off. After it dries out, you have to apply more coats of mud so you cover the tape properly.
