I know how this looks, and there isn’t much I can say to clear my name at this point, but I will make one thing clear. This fight is not over.

I guess we’ll let the ring be the judge of that. I accept your challenge. Who would have thought, the heir to Shirato challenging me for a spot in Megalonia. It’s almost...too easy.

I gotta say that was one of the best fights I’ve had in a good while. Thanks for the match, and you’ve earned my respect. I can only hope I’ve earned yours. Good luck with your future matches, inside and outside of the ring.

Round 2: Aragaki
You seem like a worthy opponent, since you were also trained by Nanbu. I look forward to dancing in the ring with you.

This little guy wanted his turn in the spotlight.
This is Sachio. He’s decided to join me and Nanbu on our quest to reach Megalonia. Despite his youth, he’s pretty knowledgeable about megalo boxing and its strategies. He’s been quite helpful to us along the way.

Round 1: Shark Samejima
Time to knock out some of those shark teeth, eh? I’m sure he won’t miss a few.

Why I Went Gearless
I’m sure there’s many people who are probably wondering why I decided to fight without gear. There are many technical reasons, sure. I could argue that gear doesn’t react as fast as you do and slows you down. However, that isn’t the only reason I choose to fight the way I do.
I believe that many megalo boxers use their gear as a crutch, and rely on their gear to do the fighting for them. Their strength comes from machines, not internally. With that mentality, without your gear, you are nothing.
I choose to go gearless because I want to fight with my own strength, and I want to fight because I enjoy it. The thrill of fighting in the ring gives me strength, and I wish to fight worthy opponents who will challenge that for me.
Yuri, I will stand in your ring.

Tch. “Real gear.” “Real fight.”
Those two phrases easily contradict themselves.
Gear provides a boxer with strength he wouldn’t have otherwise. However, it is also a boxer’s greatest weakness. That is why I am going to rely on my own strength in the ring. Today is the day I begin my journey as Gearless Joe, the megalo boxer with no gear. I know it’s a long shot, but that’s why I’m giving it my all and nothing is going to stop me from achieving my goal.

My boxing coach Nanbu Gansaku suggested I make one of these blogs to get my name out there. I would honestly prefer that my boxing did the talking, but he insisted, so he gets the honors of starring in the first post. I know he’ll make me train extra hard for this later, but it will be worth it.
