as much as I love gremlin wild, his character goes beyond that. sure, he’s different to how he was 100 years ago. but that doesn’t mean there’s no similarities. I fully believe he CAN be mature and he IS very intelligent . he just isn’t most of the time because he doesn’t have to be.

but what about when he does have to? Warriors and Time, possibly even Twilight, are out of commission. either injured or just having a shit day and no one knows what to do so Wild has to step up.

Hey guys let me tell you about advance fee scams

I hope y'all are familiar with these in this day and age, especially my artists out there, because they're incredibly common.

About half an hour ago I posted a drawing and tagged it #artists on tumblr, and very quickly received this comment.

My scam radar went off immediately, due to the generic blog name and lack of any emotion in the comment, but I decided it might be an entertaining venture so I dmed them. They asked for a drawing "of these", and sent me a random selfie. I got the details and told them it would be $15, and they promptly offered me $300. At this point I know it's a scam, but I play along for funsies and give them my paypal. Shortly, they send me this image for "confirmation" (I blocked out my email)

And they began to insist that I checked my email. I looked in my spam folder and found the following email.

This is fake. This is not a thing. And the "you're to refund the $200.00 back" is the scam. They send vaguely official-looking emails at you to "prove" that they sent you the money, then have you send them $200 (or however much the scam is for). Then, surprise surprise, you're out $200.

I continued to play along for a bit, and in the second email "Paypal" told me that I had to refund the $200 before they could "credit the $300 to my account", along with these lovely threats.

And yeah, it's silly. But it's not silly if you don't know and get scammed. So. Spread, please! And thank you very much to @mlaurel for the opportunity to get these screenshots.

yeah golden retreiver boyfriends are great and I've met several personally, but personally I have a house cat boyfriend

Fenton Family Cooking Headcanons

Maddie: Knows how to cook, and is a very good cook, but often focuses on work, puts off cooking until it's too late, and ends up ordering delivery/takeout.

Jack: Knows how to cook, is a very good cook, but believes Maddie will take care of it unless she directly asks him to cook, and since she does generally believe that she will take care of it until it's too late, he doesn't cook and they end up eating delivery/takeout.

Jazz: Doesn't know how to cook but knows how to follow simple recipe instructions. She will cook when asked but doesn't really go out of her way to cook for her family, believing everyone is self-sufficient enough to get their own food. But, when she cooks for herself, she will always offer Danny leftovers first knowing her parents will take what they want when they're hungry.

Danny: Doesn't know how to cook, can follow the instructions on the packaging, usually just goes out to eat fast food, takes food from Sam when her parents "accidentally" put animal products in it (they're not entirely convinced vegan is a safe diet for their very active teenager)(also he takes all her bread during Passover), and Tucker regularly invites him over for a meal.

You know what I havn't heard anyone talk about yet?

The fact the Rito use what look like their own simplified version of compound bows.

So - for anyone who doesn't know archery, there's different types of bows you can use. The type you'll usually see in media is a long bow. (There's also flat bows, recurve bows, crossbows, etc.)

A compound bow is a more modern bow - and the most common type you'd probably use now days if you joined an archery club.

You can see the familiarities - the wheels, the supports, the shapes. The Rito bows are like a wooden version.

So why is it interesting? Well - they made the design choice to chose a more modern bow style rather than a more traditional one like a longbow dispite the fact the enviroments aren't modern. So this was a very specific design decision they made. Why are compound bows more commonly used now days? Because they take less strength to pull and fire. Simple as that. To shoot a long bow, you need very good upper arm strength. Compound bows distribute the pressure to make them easier to wield if you don't have that.

Birds have hollow bones so that they can fly, and the Rito warriors seem to mostly have slender builds for dexterity. The liklihood is that they don't have incredible muscle strength. So using compound bows makes perfect sense. They can also be lighter, because a long bow or a flat bow must be made of a solid piece of wood so it can bend without breaking, but a compound bow is usually made from hollow pieces of metal (though theoretically could be made from wood), because they don't have so much pressure on them. So they'd be able to be flown around with much easier.

This probably isn't of any interest to anyone, but it was something interesting I noticed that I wanted to share!

This is open for public comment until the end of May 19th. Please comment and make your voice heard.

Wildlife need their habitat. If the ESA redefines harm so that habitat is no longer protected, the implications for wildlife would be catastrophic.

I cannot stress enough that all those things in sewing pattern instructions that seem pointless are actually very important

Yes, how you fold your fabric before putting down the pattern pieces and cutting matters, because it influences how the fabric drapes, and ignoring that can cause fit issues in ways you wouldn't expect

Yes, cutting an entire separate piece to sew to the edge to finish it is going to be better than turning the edge and stitching it on its own, because there are geometry issues in play that make it actually harder to just fold a curve to the inside.

Yes, cutting clips or notches into the seam allowance around curves should always be done, because those geometry issues will work on the seam allowances and keep the curve from laying flat (remember, clip when the curve goes in, notch when the curve goes out)

Yes, interfacing may seem completely superfluous and frustrating and an extra step to work with, but it adds rigidity and stability to areas that need it (especially under buttons)

Yes, using a fun quilting cotton print for lining looks nice, but the point of lining isn't to make the inside pretty as much as it is to make the inside slip smoothly over the layer under it, and quilting cotton is going to instead be prone to grabbing everything under it, so you really should use those annoyingly slippery lining fabrics

Yes, in general, you should use the kind of fabric the pattern tells you to use, because there have been centuries, if not millennia, of people throughout the entire world figuring out what fabric best suits what kind of garment, for reasons beyond aesthetics

I know that a lot of people new to sewing see these things and feel like they're things that just aren't necessary, because they skip them when they sew and the item ends up just fine. And if you don't mind the idea of your clothes looking homemade, then it is fine. But...if you're consistently skipping these things and end up unhappy with how homemade your items look, please consider that that result is at least partly because you're not following the entire directions

I keep seeing the leather/pleather vs denim jacket poll over and over again with all different sorts of discourse about how there is no plastic-free pleather and like, that's TRUE, there isn't, but honestly I DO think people who don't want to use animal products* also deserve to look cool

and so my suggestion is that y'all google "waxed cotton jacket" or "waxed canvas jacket" plus like, "motorcycle" or whatever style you think is cool, because there's a plastic free leather-look material that is strong and durable and waterproof and doesn't use animal products** AND is plastic free already out there and some of the clothes that you can get made out of it look sick as hell.

*ignoring the fact that most leather is meat by-product that would be going to waste anyway
