Do you ever think about how James and Lily probably felt so accomplished, so untouchable for going against Voldemort and winning, not once, not twice, but three times and do you think about how James locked himself in their bedroom for three days, crying until he was dehydrated and condemning his arrogance when they found out about the prophecy? Do you ever think about how James and Lily weren’t even able to look Harry in the eyes because they blamed themselves? They blamed themselves for being so active in the order, they blamed themselves for going out to fight Voldemort that one fateful third time while they knew that Lily was pregnant, all because their order needed them and Lily with fire in her blood and defiance in her eyes, wouldn’t let the early pregnancy stop her taking the opportunity to beat Voldemort’s ass. They gave up their lives for the order and where was the order when they were murdered? Where was the order when their child grew up abused and unloved, with only spiders to keep him company?
