i think absolutely the funniest thing about like, the adfree tumblr subscription coming with the option to turn ads back on anyway so you can see the weird ad everyone is talking about, or the new promoted post feature and everyone immediately thinking about what kind of stupid shit to put on other people’s dashboards. is that for years execs have been struggling for a way to make tumblr profitable when its userbase is so actively hostile to being advertised to and thus extremely unattractive to the big advertisers that keep the majority of other sites afloat, and have been passing tumblr around from company to company like a hot potato as a result. and now the solution is to like. only allow the stupidest most insane ineffective advertisements and then give users the tools to make even more insane and ineffective advertisements. i just really like that this site is so impossible to advertise to that they just kinda gave up on doing it the conventional way and are now letting us prop up the empty defaced husk of advertisement and parade it around for our amusement. i also really like that this is a perfectly double edged sword because the more people see your post the more attention you get and everyone knows attention is a punishment on tumblr dot com. i love it here i’m never gonna leave

Shout out to fanfic writers who write their favourite characters into incredibly specific niches like complex academic studies or horse taming or the intricacies of the fashion industry or historical politics just because they love it. I do in fact want to learn about your niche interests disguised as a slash fic, thank you

the fact it took less than a couple of hours for memes to come out of a tragedy just again confirms that some people have spent so long online their empathy is fucking rotted

I'm not reblogging that post about Alec Baldwin cuz it's insane to me that y'all will turn someone accidentally killing someone into a "haha another Wacky Event during this Wacky Year" but y'all are such fucking weirdos. Like someone died and he's probably fucking horrified that he was literally the person to pull the trigger. Have some fucking tact oh my god

If you want a happy ending, that depends, of course, on where you stop your story.
Thank you, Willie Garson (February 20, 1964 – September 21, 2021) for your work as Mozzie in White Collar as well as your other iconic roles.

whats so funny about all of this is the sheer number of people who became invested in the story after 15.18 because of cas’ confession. like, that was the most hype and the most social media response that a supernatural episode has ever gotten (correct me if im wrong there)? it grabbed people and pulled them back in for the final two episodes even if they hadnt watched in years or had never watched it at all, which is insane. it was a legitimate phenomenen on the internet and it stirred up so much interest and excitement which the final two episodes viewership numbers definitely reflect.
it just proves what i’ve been saying for years: if they had gone forward with deancas, stopped the bait and made it text - even complicated, nuanced, non-romcom material text - there wouldve been an explosion of fans. new fans wouldve tuned in, old fans wouldve come back, and supernatural wouldve been firmly transferred to the internets favorite media list. of course, it wouldve alienated some fans, and i dont know enough about the breakdown of fan demographics to say this for sure, but i feel like its possible the influx of fans wouldve evened it out. and besides, its not the homophobic dudebro fans who are going to cons, buying every piece of merch, etc - thats queer money! it just seems like such an absurd missed opportunity in terms of increasing viewership and profit, being front page trending interent news for weeks or months, and also going down in history as a landmark in queer media and television in general

I am desperately in need of help. Lately I realized that I could be aro (I cant EXPLAIN how much it comforts me to read about it), but I'm not sure. I love romance in theory. And honestly, I WANT to feel it. I feel like I need to, because everyone around me is dating and so happy... I tried a few times, but romance seems so distant to me. I have crushes, but I get uncomfortable whenever it stops being platonic. And I'm jealous of people who can experience love. I don't know if it's a “phase”?
Hey, so this sounds like a very common aro experience that many of us have, particularly when we first realise that we're aro. Romance is extremely idealised in our culture and it's really hard, especially when the people around you seem so happy, to realise that it's not something you can experience. But you don't need to date to be happy especially as it sounds like dating doesn't make you happy.
As for whether it's a phase, so what if it is. This is how you're feeling now. Whether that changes or not is anyone's guess. If identifying as aro makes you feel more comfortable in yourself now, then that's all you need to identify as aro.
