Right right. So i ran the mass converter .bat script again and i noticed an error on commandline that I didn't notice prior (my dumbass didn't. Sc it and i'm typing this Not even on my laptop rn so I can't recreate it rn anyway).
I take all of my tools as well as guides used in this from TGE's Amicitia site + their github, the mass converter made by another user meant to be used in tandem with the base conversion tool was one i took from a mirror on archive org bc it was a discord link (and the CDNs for those expire ) .
Anyway the error has something to do with the actual model converter (the BASE converter the mass converter script relies/runs on) not recognizing one of the .dll files attached.
As i rule this out, I believe models are likely still intact, but every course of action I've taken that is available to my level of understanding + accessibility only yields the textures for the character models.
Perhaps it is just unlucky that both the .bat script and 3DS MAX will not yield any actual model (.FBX, .DAE, .OBJ) for me to work with. And my dumbass doesn't understand how to run the base model converter on its own or as i've tried it today it's not functional on my end. It's more wishful thinking bc now that i reflect on my writing, I don't really understand how the script that split open the ROM file for ddsat to begin with would fuck with the inner model files since all of them are essentially compressions of more data in it (basic explanation) . So i think my tools are not compatible with my system which is why i'm stuck.
update regarding me ripping the models from both DDSAT games
I am still very much stuck.
1 thing I want to make clear about what types of files each DDSAT model is saved as, it is a .PB file, which was engineered by ATLUS themself (meaning that these cannot just be opened regularly and are unrecognized by model viewers such as Noesis.
Games such as Raidou 1-2, DDSAT 1-2 and SMT Nocturne use these file formats for models.

anyway. so at this point after ruling out both the mass PB to FBX/OBJ/DAE convertor only giving me the models textures, i gave up and ended up loading 3ds MAX and then using TGE's plugin to import the .PB files into there. 1st Image pictured is Harley Q's textures, it's in a DAE folder which was a result of a line of code i ran to convert PB files to DAE, but there is no .DAE model file present in the results.
i'm putting the rest of this under a readmore for coherency and not to spam the main tag with a really long post, but I do really want to figure this out as I'm sure a lot more people want the models that are not present on modelers resource + other assets.
i got autodesk 3ds max (i get a year free bc I go to an arts school lmao)
i'm given this error when I run the plugin in 3DS MAX. afterwards only the textures are provided to me.
at this point given both these circumstances, I'm inclined to believe that the .PB model files only have textures, whether it is that or:
1. none of my programs or command lines are working or i am not executing code correctly
2. the code I used to convert the .IMG (file containing data inside the actual ISO/ROM of ddsat) was either executed incorrectly by me or is causing the data to be released incorrectly.
3. I am missing something (.net plugin or whatever) on my laptop that causes the code to execute incorrectly in 3DS MAX
4. im doing everything wrong and nothing is right
5. while i have .net on the laptop, in order to run the 3DS MAX code properly I need to allow the code to properly locate encoding number 932 as listed in the error. That is far beyond my current capability/ understanding of coding.
At first i thought maybe it was the ROM but I tried the aforementioned methods to get the files for DDS 2 and none of them worked, I'm still stuck with only textures.
you guys can probably expect a dump of all of the files on google drive in a bit, i'm a bit hesitant regarding it bc of potential copyright or whatever but I'll piece together a coherent directory of the plugins and resources I used to make this attempt in case someone other than me who may or may not be more tech literate would want to attempt it.

ive been using this blog for a lot of talking as of late . This isnt technical stuff but About DDSAT rarepair shenanigans but basically this is my canon divergent terrible writeup of Serph x Harley Q. Which actually started out as a joke pairing
- the pairing is mostly rooted in the idea that the Embryon still ravages the Vanguards and their people at Ground Zero, but when Serph+Argilla+Heat pursue the Vanguards base, instead of killing Harley, they take him as an attempt to usurp him into their tribe. (This would also coincide with the circumstance that Harley does not end up attacking Heat + others after being thrown at the fucking wall in that room lol)
- Harley is shellshocked, so Serph mostly just keeps him around his quarters and intermittently tries to get him into the planning room. Serph also ends up force feeding him to keep him alive and from like going crazy style
- Serph makes multiple attempts to try and get Harley (and by extension whatever Vanguards may be alive still) to team up with the Embryon, (which would thus coincide with them afterwards,seeking ally ship with Maribel , chronologically) .
- Harley is at a point where he perceives it as just being completely over for him, but Serph presents his request (or more like. A demand) it in such a way that it seems like he's making an offer (though deep down they both know Harley doesn't have much of a choice)
- stemming from both circumstances, in between, Serph continuously treats Harley warmly despite . Like literally everything that's happened and protesting from Heat lmao. It's sort of deeply rooted in dishonesty over the allyship thing being presented as an offer v. Demand as stated above
(in the regard that Serph just feels bad. Not that his feelings towards Harley romantically or otherwise are dishonest)
- Serph also begins to make advances to Harley which neither of them really understand that much+ bc Harley is kept in his quarters um .you probably know
- bc Harley didnt enter his transformation thing early on like in canon, i honestly see a scenario where he becomes his atma and Serph has to fight him and Harley fucking dies afterwards bc of lack of control . but later on.
Idk tbh im so fluff-brained on his relationship to Serph i havent gotten that far . Idk whether i like the doomed yaoi archetype but this is already so rooted in copium regarding Harley in canon so idk. Maybe it works

okay, so if anyone cares about the models from the DDSAT games enough:
I was able to extract the assets of Digital Devil Saga 1's ISO using a command line, so i have access to all of the data in the game. The only roadblock i manage to hit is that since this is an older entry, all of the model files are stored in multiple unreadable formats (PB/MB/LB).
I hit a roadblock in which I'm really not well versed enough in computers to figure out the other commandlines used to convert these as FBX/OBJ/DAE formats (ones that are readable using programs like Blender or Autodesk).
There exists some tools on github meant to specifically convert these files and that I have a command file that is supposed to bulk convert .PB files from a folder, but it only provides me with textures. I'm trying to rule out whether the actual models with their data are being stored elsewhere in its assets or if i'm actually just flat out running shit incorrectly.
I'm probably going to take a break from this for a bit since I just flat out cannot understand what's happening, but if anyone wants to give it a go send me an ask and I can provide you with the raw data files i got from opening the ISO as well as the tools + guides I used to get this far. I mostly want models of the characters that aren't readily available
+ I also have a plugin for importing .PB models if anyone owns Autodesk max. (I personally can't run this since I don't own the program)

I mostly talk of my weird rarepair shenanigans on twt but wtf was i on when i came up with Serph x Harley Q. A lot of it is just shit i made up (ie. embryon spares Harley and instead Serph tries to integrate him into his tribe and then it gets. Um. Well)
And if im being real i do Like it more than heatserph personally, even though its literally just "just made some bullllshiiiiit" and it's even more nonsensical canon wisethan heatserph . Unless we as the player assume Serph and Harley interacted more than once on a personal level prior to their awakenings which also doesn't make sense. Mutual mentioned a while ago on a defunct JPN site Serph describes Harley as handsome or something, idk how canon that is but yeah? You two wanna bash asses? Okay
