She matched his pout with one of her own. “Well I wasn’t gonna throw one at him,” she mumbled, but then perked up at his follow-up suggestion. It wasn’t Diet Coke and Mentos bombs, but it was something. “I have a whole pack of Sour Patch Kids. Think that’ll do it?” She grinned mischievously.
He chuckled. “We’re gonna give those pigeons the sugar rush of their lives.” He said with a nod. “I am sure that will be enough, yeah. And we can get sugar rush as well. I miss that...”

“Wait, what?” she replied, cocking her head to the side. “I mean, you don’t have to have been in love to know how it happens. I’m in love, but it definitely wasn’t expected or planned. I think the best kind of love takes you by surprise,” she admitted, smiling softly as she thought of Dimitri. “Honestly, that would be nice. Definitely a welcomed reprieve from all of the hearts.”
He shook his head, making a face. “I was never in love, nor do I intend to.” He shrugged. “I like to be my own guy, you know? I have my friends and that is more than enough for me.” Ralph admitted. He nodded. “Alright! Let’s go hunt for square chocolate!” He started walking towards the candy shop, and then hummed pensively. “So you have a boyfriend? Or girlfriend? Or... Something? Since you said you were in love...”

“Have you ever heard of dances? Balls? Festivals? It’s basically something like that. Formal dress, good food, free drinks, and lots of dancing.”
“Dances and festivals, yeah.” he tipped his head to the side and smiled. “I’m not ure if it’s a good idea for me to go. It would be like a bull in a china shop. I don’t really dance much.”

“Weeeell, we could… bomb the prom with some good ole fashioned Diet Coke and Mentos bombs? Unless you got a better idea?”
He pouted a bit. “I'd be all for that, but Felix went to the prom, I wouldn’t want to ruin that for him.” He admitted. “But we can give sweets to the pigeons and watch them become hyperactive.”

She smiled at him from atop his shoulders and popped a gusher into her mouth. “Yeah!” she agreed around the candy. “Who needs ‘em!” She pulled a few more pieces of candy from her bag and held them out for him again, a sudden mischievous grin spreading across her face. “Hey, you know what’d be really fun?”
He smirked at her words. “I like the sound of where this is going... What would be really fun?” Wreck-It-Ralph was, after all, never the kind of guy to back away from fun.

“It wasn’t very much like it is in this world where I came from, but after having to create so many heart-shaped pastries at the shop, I’m not too sure I’m a fan.”
He chuckled. “I don’t understand the point of it... How do people even fall in love?” Ralph shook his head. “But there’s chocolate everywhere, so I won’t complain...” He was pensive for a moment. “We could go out to a candy shop and I could get you some dull rectangular old-school chocolates...”

“The town prom that’s happening this weekend. Surely you’ve seen the fliers… Or not. Is there something I can help you with?”
He blinked a couple of times, and then chuckled. “Well, yes. Could you tell me what exactly... prom is? I haven’t seen the flyers, no...”

She placed her hands on his head and rested her chin on them, contented. “It’s like it’s in my code or something,” she teased lightly. Her smile faded a little at his question and she sighed, a shrug in her shoulders though she knew he couldn’t see. “Well, the candy man said he could fix it, he just couldn’t tell me when, so…” She held out her hand to inspect it. She couldn’t escape being a glitch. “I’m gettin’ really tired of looking at purple.”
He sighed a bit, as he headed towards the nearest park. “You know, purple and pink always made me think of you. Like cotton candy and bubble gum. I think the color suits you. And if people fail to see that, well, then their eyes are glitched, for sure.” He smiled a bit, looking up at her. “WE’ll fix this, though, like we always do, don’t you worry.”

It took her brain a whole beat to realize she was off the ground. She didn’t need to swing her head down to stare him upside down in the face because she knew his voice better than she knew most things, but she did anyway. Her smile was small but immediate. “You mean no one wanted a big stinky date like you?” Her smile grew as she sat back up. “Impossible.” With some minor adjusting, Vanellope reached into her pocket and pulled out a pack of Gushers. She’d been saving it for a special occasion and this seemed to fit the bill. Pulling it open, she pulled out a few and held them down to him. She was quiet a moment as she appreciated that he’d shown up for her. He was her hero, after all. “Thanks, Ralph.”
Ralph chuckled lightly. “Ouch! You hear that? It’s the sound of my life bar going down with that low blow.” He took one of the candy, and popped it into his mouth, speaking with it full. “No need to thank me. I was feelin’ a bit on the low, lonely, you know? So I went lookin’ for you. You always find the best candy.” He looked up at her, and frowned. “You’re still purple, uh? I’m sure there is a way to fix that.”

not-aglitch:
She’d had no money for a dress, no friends for a date, and she was still as bright purple as the grape Jolly Rancher stuck to her shoelace. She’d been wandering a while now. The sidewalks were much less crowded than a normal Friday night and she was appreciative of the fewer eyes trained on her. She kicked at a stick on the ground. She was used to being alone, but that didn’t make feeling it any easier. “Who needs the sinkin’ stupid prom? I don’t need the stinkin’ stupid prom,” she grumbled to herself.
Ralph watched Vanellope, for a moment. She wasn’t hard to miss, with the color she was sporting. He crossed the street, and picked her up easily, so that she was sitting on his shoulders, his hands firmly holding her legs. “No one needs the stinkin’ stupid prom. All we need is some candy and a good friend, and a nice walk in the evening, don’t you think?”

“No, I will act like you are being unreasonable because, frankly, you are. But I am not doing this any more. I have more important things to deal with and if Felix were to wake up this moment, I would not want him to wake up to this,” he stated, moving over the bed and giving Felix a gentle pat on the arm.“Get well, Squidge.”
He watched the other as he got closer to Felix. He folded his arms in front of his chest, and sighed. “Look... I’ll talk to him. Try to make sense of all at this. That’s as much as I can give you right now.”

Felix’s face lit up at the mention of burgers and candy, giving Ralph the widest grin he probably had since he first woke up. “Do that and I might just start kissin’ you.”

Ralph snorted, as he stood up, and shook his head. “You don’t need to kiss me, but I’m not going to deny some hugs.” He chuckled. “Any specific requests?”

“Why? Why can you not take my word for it as I have with your tale of ‘coding’? If I wanted to hurt him, do you not think I could have merely left him out in the story? Or even in the time I spent at his bedside before you arrived? Is that not proof enough?”
He sighed, and pinched the bridge of his nose. “Well, all that is enough for me not to kick you out of his bedroom. And I mean literally kick you out.” He admitted. “So don’t act like I’m being completely unreasonable.”

“No. No, I am not,” he said, glancing at Felix and then back to the man. “Hurting him is the last thing on my mind, believe me.”
“I don’t believe you. I’ll have to see it, to believe it.”

“You’re still not gonna stay away from him, are you?” He narrowed his eyes. “If you hurt him, I’ll crush you...”

“So many heart-shaped items. If I never saw a heart again, it would be too soon.”
He chuckled. “You don’t like Valentine’s?” He asked, tipping his head to the side.

Ralph blinked a couple time. “Prom? What prom?”
