    That makes perfect sense, he thinks. Name: Joshua Rosenthal

Pronouns: He / His

Age: 17

School Grade: 12th Grade

Defining Characteristics: That city slicker who thinks he’s above and beyond those of this humble, Midwestern town. That the demeanor he maintains. Joshua can’t deny the fact he does scoff and gaze at his surroundings as though unimpressed, but surely he endured a culture shock from New York to -- here. He’s a fairly quiet guy: speaking when spoken to or speaking when he has an idea or opinion. These opinions can induce eye rolls as his favorite form of humor ( and interacting with others ) is through deadpan comedy. No one would have the idea that he’s actually very shy. Sure, it’s no longer a struggle for him to make friends as it was when he was a child, but he still holds traces of this nature.    

Known in the group as: The wise-ass borderline dad to those younger than him. Joshua originates as the skeptic tag-along with a ‘smart mouth’ due to the fact his mother was close to Levi’s Mother - and consequently, the boys must be close as well. Is Joshua hanging out because his mother said so? Is Joshua hanging out because he has nothing to do? Is Joshua hanging out because he cares about those he sees daily? ... ‘it’s classified.’    

Connection to the paranormal: The apartment he spent his first few years of life in was allegedly haunted. It was a general known fact the outrageous but immensely talented actress Connie Romano lived and died there. Although knowing this, his mother purchased the space feeling that as an aspiring actress herself she would gain something inspirational - of substance there. But look: June Blaustein was a single mother then. She was desperate in many ways.   His mother swears up and down there were supernatural occurrences such as the rocking of mirrors at 3 AM. Joshua remembers no such things, but his mother explains that it’s due to the fact she protected him from such knowledge. Over the years growing up, he noticed that depending on who she speaks with, the story extends to Ms. Romano’s ghost following them home to home. Drawn to her character, surely. Cue Joshua becoming annoyed.  His mother’s tall-tales were exactly why in High School he wrote a column for his High School’s paper. ‘Creatively titled’ Ghost Buster ( No affiliation. ) He goes over the history of ghost stories, all based in New York, and debunks them. However his career came to an end when his step-father decided to inherit his family’s farm in the Midwest.  

3 facts about your character

🚫 - Joshua lives on a large plot of land that sits a little far back from the community ( the Rosenthal farm that has existed since - the 1940s? 1950s? His step-father is much older than his mother, and his granddad bought the land. ) He’s having a hard time adjusting from knowing at least, five other Jewish families in New York to only knowing less than a handful here.  🚫- His favorite movie is the Bodyguard. He has a big ol’ crush on Whitney Houston.   🚫- Loves computer games, but can also be found at the arcade. Sometimes with his baby sister Arielle.
