hi guys!

so, first off, i’m so sorry for the sudden vanishing act. between this new online school system taking up more of my time and energy than i was anticipating and depression body checking me out of nowhere for a while there, being on Tumblr got placed on the back burner while i focused on school and myself. 

i know that my presence here will still be lacking while the semester continues on, so consider this an official hiatus notice. 

i do plan on making a return during my winter break. i want to say that if i get ahead enough in my classes i might try to be on here every now and then until that time, but i can’t make any promises. i will be available on Discord if any of you want to reach out though, my Discord is ghost king of mcdonalds#8138

though his family did have a tv when he was a kid, Nico was never really interested in it. he preferred reading books and playing outside. he had a bunch of toy cars and soldiers that were favorites of his, but his #1 favorite toy was a yo-yo his great-grandfather made him. some of the things he liked to read were mythology and fantasy books.

Nico has nightmares for years about Tartarus, about the horrors he faced in there and the numerous deaths he experienced ( a lot of the things he learned while in there were from trial and error --- because Thanatos was chained at the time he was in there, whenever Nico died he came back. )  the nightmares didn’t reach their highest peak until after the Giant War was over. they were pretty bad after he was freed, but because he was so focused on the war and getting the Argo II to the Doors of Death, he ended up not sleeping much. his sleep schedule was pretty messed up before, but it got even worse after the war was over with. Nico knew how to go without sleep, but sometimes he took it too far. after the Giant War he pulled back a lot emotionally as he threw himself into helping the rebuild with both Camps and the Underworld. Nico also developed a severe case of claustrophobia due to his time in the jar. going underground is now something he struggles with, and sometimes cannot do without having a panic attack. Cabin 13 doesn’t have any windows, but after the Giant War he added a loft with a section of the roof that opened up to help when it got to be too bad.

💀   ——   the streets of New York were not unlike the Fields of Asphodel, crowded and bustling. though the pace was much faster walking through Manhattan, and there was not the risk of bumping into one another in the Meadow. it was much louder topside as well, the noise hammering on the Italian’s ears. the only upside was that much like how the souls parted for him in the Underworld, the living did as well. whether they realized it or not. it was a blessing as much as it was a curse. hands shoved into the deep pockets of an over-sized jacket, head bowed and too-long curls fell into dark eyes, Nico glided through the sea of people with ease, picking up the pace as the sky began to darkened.  (  this visit to the East Coast was one made purely on a whim. an escape from his father and the festivities taking over the Roman Camp. he was not yet ready to venture to the Greek equivalent, however.  )
