sylus isn’t the type to post often—hell, he barely acknowledges social media exists. his presence is elusive, more of a shadow lurking in the background rather than an active participant. when he does post, it’s never anything direct. no selfies, no long captions. just the occasional cryptic message, an expensive drink in low lighting, a skyline at night. something that keeps people guessing.

but when it comes to you?

oh, he’s a menace. not in the obvious, overly affectionate way—no, that’s too easy. instead, he plays a different game.

he doesn’t post pictures of you, at least not in the way people expect. it's the details—the curve of your wrist as you reach for a glass, the silhouette of you in his oversized shirt standing at the window, the lipstick print left on the rim of his drink. no context, no tags, just a subtle flex that makes people wonder.

his captions? unhelpful. “mine.” or worse, just a black heart. let them speculate. sometimes he'd feel a bit out of the box and add something suggestive, or an actual sentence.

but where he really thrives? the comments.

you post a picture looking good? he's there, but not with something obvious. “Who are you trying to impress?”—as if he doesn’t already know the answer. if someone gets a little too bold in your replies, he’s suddenly more active than usual, liking their comment just to make them nervous, then replying with something simple but heavy: “Try again.”

and your stories? oh, he watches immediately. no hesitation. first viewer. if you post something particularly eye-catching, expect a single dm—maybe an emoji, maybe a simple “Get home.” not a request. a statement.

he's not the type to broadcast his feelings, but if you look closely, it’s all there—woven between the nonchalant flexes, the carefully curated mystery, and the way he makes it very clear that while the world may be watching, you’re his—and that’s all they need to know.

Friend group chats are fun. Today one of my friends, who keeps pet crayfish, found babies in a tank that was supposed to be a males only. No choice but to empty out the whole tank to fish out the babies of unknowable origins. But lo and behold, there was a culprit: one teeny tiny little female had somehow escaped containment, evidently specifically going out of her way to break into this all male tank to get railed by like 15 males twice her size. Possibly completely different breed, too. Monsterfucker supreme.

So for a good solid hour or so, the whole group chat was focused on. slutshaming this one specific little crustacean. With like 300 babies.

Can I ask how the original trio in LADS would respond to a reader who's burnt out? Like used to be overachieving, ambitious and hardworking but now has no energy to care about any goals, short or longterm?

Zayne doesn't burn out but he does understand the concept and has witnessed his colleagues go through the same struggle. When he notices that you're starting to show symptoms and not seeming to care as much as you used to about things that were important to you he'll sit you down to talk.

He listens without judgement, asking if there's anything you want him to do or anything you can point at as being the cause for your burnout. Even if you can't, he'll simply suggest you just take some time off. If you can take time off work or just stop working as hard if possible. He will push for you to take some time off though so you can focus on just being at home and doing whatever it is you want to, or become more invested in your studies to try and guide you through things.

He'll aim to try and help you at least gain some sort of control over your life again. Seeing you listless and just exhausted isn't fun for him. He'll support you if you decide to do a complete 180, changing paths to something that you think you'll like more, or just supporting you as you rot a bit and come out of your funk.

Xavier is a great partner to have if you just want to rot around. He'll come home and just lay with you. He doesn't demand anything of you but he will slowly work his way before trying to figure out what's wrong with you. He knows that you used to be a lot more passionate and seeing you so despondent just doesn't really feel like you. He'll be worried that something happened but when you just tell him you feel burned out he'll nod along and support you however you need him to.

He'll help you get back to at least being not burnt out, giving you some sort of motivation to get to a point where you're more comfortable doing things again. He also doesn't really care what that looks like - as long as you're happy, that's all that matters.

Rafayel burns out constantly after completing giant projects so if it gets timed so that you're both burnt out nothing really happens at home. You two just kinda lay together, not really wanting to do much until one of you snaps out of your stupor. Rafayel typically just goes shopping until he feels better or gets inspiration back so his cycle is a lot quicker than yours might be.

He'll also give you his best tips and tricks of getting out of a funk, and honestly he might just tell you to directly quit your job if you don't like it and just live off of him, no strings attached. He adores you and he'd be more than happy to take care of you if you'd like. He wants you to find something you enjoy doing at least, not necessarily a passion so your days don't just blend into a bland nothingness. He'd love to take you out and just do random things to help with that when he doesn't feel like a pile of slop, at least making your days more entertaining until you find something you enjoy doing again/find a passion.

This is kinda self-indulgent, but can you pls write a Sylus, Zayne and Caleb one where they catch us singing a song from our native language (whether it's in the car, during a karaoke session, or perhaps just doing our chores - whichever you prefer)? If you can't do it, I understand. Ty so much in advance 💗

Sylus probably understands. If he doesn't, he's already started to learn your language as another show of affection for you. He would be more than happy to just listen to you sing on the sidelines, not drawing attention to it because he has plans for you.

One day while you're singing to yourself and doing the dishes when he comes up behind you. You hear his voice in your ear, a little off tune but not too bad. You're a little surprised to hear him singing with you but you know how much he just loves to do things with you so you enjoy the moment, singing softly with him.

If you write your own music he's always more than happy to listen, not asking you outright to show it to him but he's always got a soft smile on his face when you do decide to show it to him.

Zayne/Caleb love hearing you sing or speak in your native tongue. Sometimes he'll ask you to teach him a word or phrase, wanting to slowly become more fluent in it so he can speak to you in it as well one day. He's very keen on learning it so it definitely doesn't take much time for him to pick up on it.

He'll ask you to sing to him more in it too, giving you an adoring look. You might feel a little flustered at how much he asks you to sing for him or how much attention he pays to you, especially when it's not something he can understand.

Like Sylus, he loves being able to hear music that you write for yourself. He adores it, softly nudging you to show him more of the music you work on. He doesn't know much about the technicalities but it doesn't really matter - if you've written it then he loves it.

loove giving back hugs, at least one hand on your lower stomach (and whos to blame him to think of you as a mama, creating life to your and his children? it may be a dream for now but always a hopeful plead to reality). his chin resting on your head, or even coming around to the side of your neck giving you soft pecks

ugh they love spoiling you, especially when it comes to food. if you say youre not hungry, he'll still order your favorite portions, or order his meal a size up, knowing youll soon be munching on them happily, "stealing" just a bite (he'll let you eat the whole thing even if he gets to starve). finds so much joy in bringing a utensil up to your mouth, allowing you to eat from his hand, always enjoying the sight when your eyes light up in delight when you try something good

theyre just sooo dominant, a natural leader, again a brooding presence- theyre seen not being the forefront of the group but always being the one that people lean on, the one in charge like everyone knows who to go to. they take pride in this but always know to never fall in it, understanding when to play when the time comes. its even better when they find pleasure and amusement when you lead, always soo happy to see you acting out for your own fulfillment (theyll do anything to satisfy you). and once youre done, hes always there, solid and strong (he never was not leading even throughout when you were)

caleb who actually has horrible luck. he has most of your standard 5 star memories maxed out, mostly due to losing so many 50/50s. at first he was like “psh. it’s just a game. i won’t have to spend any money.” but, then he lost the 50/50 on the anniversary banner and the flood gates opened. now, he’s willing to drop large amounts of money at a time if it means getting your precious memories.

caleb who takes full advantage of the ‘quality time’ feature. mostly to unlock your workout outfit, but he likes to have you cheering him on by the side while he completes his regimen.

caleb who gets oddly competitive during kitty cards? like he’s about to crash out the moment you cancel out one of his assist cards. his hands are gripping the phone, his palms are sweating, his breath is hitching, he’s grunting in frustration. someone looks over his shoulder to see what the hell is stressing him out so much… you just changed his teacup color from red to blue…

it’s not that i think they won’t like each other. it’s just that rafayel needs someone to match his energy and challenge him, while xavier seems just okay with being passive when interacting with other people. rafayel needs his full attention while he’s ranting, so if xavier falls asleep, they’re done.

not to say xavier is dumb— he’s very intelligent when he wants to be, but he comes across as someone with a one track mind. i’m not sure he’d understand what rafayel is saying half the time, but he’s very polite and understanding about it.

sylus + caleb (pre farspace fleet)

outwardly, they would get along. they look like the perfect picture of brotherhood: an arm swung over the other’s shoulder and a loud promise to get drinks sometime.

in reality, they’re running background checks on each other the moment they’re out of the other’s earshot. sylus knew there was something darker beneath caleb’s charismatic gaze and caleb definitely picked up the fact sylus wasn’t telling him the full truth of his profession.

zayne + rafayel

zayne is a man very comfortable in his space. rafayel is a man very comfortable in zayne’s space. the artist thinks zayne is too uptight and tries to get him out of his office and have some fun, but the doctor is clearly not interested in that.

rafayel would never push it and make zayne uncomfortable. he’d simply except that the other man was happy with where he was. there’s no tension between them, but they just don’t compliment each other. no hard feelings.

there’s a quiet understanding between them. zayne is a little concerned about xavier’s health if anything. obviously, they don’t become best friends, but they do get along.

i don’t think either of them are the greatest with expressing their feelings and neither of them are interested in talking about it. they recognize that in each other and find the most solace knowing that neither of them are expecting anything more from the other.

rafayel + sylus

two rich men with an appreciation for the finer things in life… they would 100% get along. rafayel wouldn’t judge sylus for the things he’s done— he’s probably done worse anyway.

i imagine they met at one of rafayel’s art exhibition and started talking. there’s something so refreshing about the way rafayel describes his art, much better than the suffocating corporate speak sylus is forced to hear every day.

sylus is invited to all of rafayel’s next exhibitions and and rafayel happens to be sylus’ occasional plus-one to auctions. they’re besties now sorry i don’t make the rules. i could talk about them forever

note: i didn’t include as many caleb pairings because his lore is genuinely so intertwined with the mc that i had a hard time coming up with any ideas. also, even the most sociable people like sylus or rafayel are perceptive enough to see there’s more beneath the surface. they notice that caleb is actually… kind of off putting? love caleb though!

obviously there are some more interactions i missed like zayne + sylus. they probably wouldn’t like each other, maybe they would, and i don’t know when it would make sense for them to meet… sylus gets a check up i guess <3 old men yaoi
