In all honesty, it wasn’t as if Death was a big, well-kept secret. It was simply, for the most part, buried under bigger and more recent crisises. So Cable - he could’ve dug all this info up just to throw Remy off. He could’ve. But, if what Remy felt during his one week of coma - if the voice whispering in the back of his head was any indication - there was a risk Cable was right. That Death was coming, and Hell would follow at his heels.
Remy nods, simply. Silent for a moment, arms folded (not in threat but out of his own discomfort) back leaning against the closed door. Eyes staring at the floor.
“I’ve been ‘earin’ it, recently,” and it’s so wrong that it’s Cable he ends up telling this to. The first person to open up to about this since the last time. “Him. It. Scratchin’ in th’ back a’ m’ skull. ‘E kept tellin’ me, over n’ over, t’ die n’ give up when I was in th’ hospital. I know ‘e’s there. N’ tryinna find any opportunity t’ resurface.”
His eyes move up to Cable, then. He pauses. Tries and breathe in, breathe out. Getting upset, right now, will do him no favors. “It can’t be removed. I tried. ‘E was s’pposed t’ be gone. But it ain’t. So if worse comes t’ pass…” He needs to be killed. He doesn’t need to say that out loud. “I can count on ya wit’ that, right?” He can. He knows he can.
    “So… Tell me.”
That was interesting information. Had Death meant literally, or figuratively? To simply relinquish control, or to actually die? It was Death, after all. If it was the latter--and he couldn’t take any chances that it wasn’t--he couldn’t simply kill Remy, he would have to destroy him. Ruin any possible chance that Death could use his body. "I’ll do what needs to be done,” he told him firmly. He was here to stop Death, one way or another. It was something of a relief that Remy was on the same page. One less hurdle, one less complication. However... no hope at all wasn’t going to help in the ‘hang in there’ department. “...I thought the same thing, with the T.O. But I was proven wrong, Remy. I’ll keep a lookout, if things go well here, if I find any way to solve this problem, I’ll get back to you.” Of course he had additional motives for that, but that wasn’t the point. Now for the bad news. Or worse news, rather. “...Wade is working for Sinister, right now. In the vision, he was leading the Marauders. I don’t know why. I don’t know if he chose it, if he was blackmailed into it, or any number of reasons. I don’t have a whole lot of control over what gets shown to me.” He waited a moment, studying him carefully before continuing. “I think it has to do with Sabretooth. He was the target. Then you showed up, then Death showed up--needless to say, Creed wasn’t the only one to die that day.” He shook his head. “Maybe that’s all Wade is doing, finding a reason and a way to take him out. Those two have... history.” If he didn’t already know, he wasn’t inclined to share more than he had to.

His blood goes cold the moment Death is mentioned, and it’s visible in his face. Breath hitching, completely stilling even. Eyes widening but a tad, heart suddenly hammering.
“’Ow’d you know ‘bout that?” He responds, and his tone is eerily quiet now. One might mistake it for threatening if they didn’t know better. There’s another beat of silence, Remy licking his lips, weighting on his options. On how much there is to what Cable is saying. It’s only his worst nightmare he’s talking about.
Reluctantly but urgently, the Cajun steps out of the way. Lets Cable in. “Talk.”
He stepped in at the invitation. At least he believes me. Even better, he’s taking it seriously. “I can’t travel through time, anymore. I get flashes, sometimes, of the future, and I can meditate to trigger them. I saw it happen, Remy. You lost your temper. Lost it badly. Then Death made the situation worse.” He glanced around, then leaned against the wall. He’d sit when Remy did, try to keep him calm. He didn’t know what could trigger something like this. It could be anything. Could be nothing. Could merely have been a coincidence, Death waiting for a chance--but he was sure the one had to do with the other.  “In short, I didn’t know. Not until I saw it. Whatever you’re doing to keep this under wraps is still working, as far as I can tell. If that helps at all.” He would normally have his arms crossed, right now, but he put them in the pockets of his trenchcoat, instead. Less threatening. Watching his own body language, and Remy’s. “I have some clue as to what probably triggered it, but if it set you off before, it could set you off now. So when I tell you, you need to stay here until we work out a gameplan. That sound doable?” And if it set him off anyway... he’d do what he had to to stop him before it got far enough to be a problem.

Remy pauses, there, for an uncomfortably long time. Folds his arms, stares the other man down. Jesus, how is this asshole related to Scott? Oh, wait. Both assholes. Right. Almost forgot. “What is this - Remy LeBeau versus The World? I already dealt with one a’ Wade’s exes, now you?” He groans. Raises a hand to rub his forehead. “What - ‘M gonna break Wade’s heart n’ ‘e’s gonna go berserk? ‘M gentle wit’ ‘im, yanno, unlike yer league a’ evil exes.”
Which - turns out, apparently, isn’t such a good thing after all. The gentleness, that is. But, well. Too late to turn back the time now.
Who else was here? Tony? Seemed the most likely... but honestly? There was a list. He nearly smirked at ‘league of evil exes’, but managed not to. That would undermine the seriousness of the situation. “Funny you should say that. The reverse, actually. I don’t know if heartbreak is a part of it, but it set you off--and set Death off.” Hopefully that would be enough to get his attention and through the damn door. And he’d have to pick his following words with more care, because he didn’t want to trigger the situation, himself. That rather defeated the entire purpose.

Okay, so at least he wasn’t planning to kill the guy.
“You still haven’t told me who this guy is. Or what I get out of it. If this guy is so bad and you can time travel, then why here and why now? I’m certain there’s a ‘would you kill baby Hitler’ moment you’ve had with this guy too so… guess you decided against that?”
“Here and now because he is here now.” Again, he had to pick his words with care. No need to make more trouble for himself than he already had. “Time travel doesn’t help if you don’t know what you’re looking for. If I knew who he was as a child, I’d hardly kill him. I’d get him placed with a different family--assuming he ever had one.” He sighed. “Honestly, kid, it’s even a big assumption that he’s human at all. Seems doubtful, but I’ve known mutants who’ve lived longer. But he might not even be from here to begin with. I need to find out more about him, and he’s not likely to confide in me. You’re much more approachable.” It wasn’t the first time Drake had asked him for a name. It looked like he was invested enough not to turn his back on it, now. Good. “Currently, he’s going by Brock Rumlow. Crossbones. But he’s worn other names, operated in different places, in the past. Lazarus. Alphabet Al. Thorn.” A pause. “I have no definitive proof of his... activities, there, but I know he spent a great deal of time in London’s Whitechapel around the late 1880s. This isn’t a job to be taken lightly. Not that you’re inclined to, but I’d rather you knew the gravity of the situation.”

“Nah, I was more thinking I’d be getting a lecture about being the bigger person or something? Be less of an ass, Tony, c’mon. Y’know? But you’re effectively saying that something is up.”

“...That ship has long since sailed, wouldn’t you say? No, you’re right. Something is up. Rather, it will be. I want you to be prepared if I can’t stop it, or can’t stop all of it. Mainly disaster recovery.”

Oh, yeah, this is exactly what he wanted to see first thing in the morning. A greying, lifeless anus standing at his front door. Great. “Oh my God, what d’you want?” Are the first words out of his mouth, spoken in a groan. A very orange furball wriggling in his arms, chirping at Cable. Hell no. He’s not touching his babies.
“If this is ‘bout Wade, ‘e ain’t ‘ere. ‘E’s got a job. Y’should know.” Cue a glare. “’Ow th’ Hell d’ya know where I live anyway? Stalker much?”
“I’m here to talk to you, actually.” Direct approach might work better, here. He already looked like he wanted to slam the door in his face, not that it was much of a surprise. “About the future. There’s a disaster you’re uniquely qualified to prevent, given that you have a hand in causing it.”
