“Alot of people where meant to come here,” Jeremy agreed. “I had a house just a little way past the barrier. And alot of memories to go with it all. Can’t think of a place i would rather be given.... everything,” he said making a similar hand wave.

“Honestly I remember when it wasn’t even a school,” he said lightly to the stranger. “Seems to be getting bigger a bigger as the years go by.”

nik looked at what, he assumed, was the old salvatore school — the one he’d been expected to attend before the apocalypse happened. ❝ toto, we’re definitely not in kansas anymore. ❞ he said, not speaking to anyone in particular. he looked at the person he’d come to stand near, used to the friendliness of new orleans and the reputation his family had. ❝ did this place always look like that? or is this a recent renovation? ❞ he smiled, trying to lighten the mood. he didn’t imagine it was easy to be from this place and think the entire world was dead only to have another city arrive and disrupt things. he didn’t think he’d be too happy if new orleans was suddenly overrun by strangers.
