only silence can tell us
Dawn over the machine  The body of my body Is lighter than any other
Dignity, lost in translation — Sun and sin In the morning, my heart touches lead  I am a prize, and I do not see Beyond the shepherd's eyes  The seeds left in my palm Grew into the bones
He and I, we are allowed softness  A sleepy bloom  Only silence can tell us Of the faces of time Of creatures with teeth About to fall out

nobody's
Sundays are for dusty riddles  The longing that was never born And will never disappear
My spirit software Runs on a thin line Between apathy and rest
There are faces to wear tomorrow: The kingmaker The sun-singer The disgrace  Just place your hand in the mind's clutter
For today I chose nobody I trapped waiting, hope, and unease  In a jar with breathing holes To be opened tomorrow  Not today Today I am not I am not

to be gentle
I love you You can write with me   An old friend of light — My shadow ran around the world It now matches yours  How I wished to be gentle Stronger than fear!
I want to catch you with your hair loose Tell you how much I like your chin  (A butterfly lands on my forehead) Behind me, the body of my body — Its peace a sincerity  It bears suns and sins —  They read like a prayer that reaches higher Than the River's poems; in truth They step hand in hand  How beautiful your palms are!

spring stars
Flowers dream of answers Wait for someone to notice Wither, and then hope again It took me a lifetime  To notice myself
My white irises - they know better than to worry  If not this spring, then the next one  Petals will turn into eyelashes  I will count yours and you will count mine The meticulous has always been simple - simple, and right by my palm

I'm looking for new poets to follow. Do you have any recommendations?
I like free verse the most, but I'm open to branching out.
@goneahead, @writerscreed, @poetryslutsreloaded, @poetryriot, @remnantrepository, @poeticstories, @burningmuses, and @recognizingthevoiceless all are goldmines of voices. Most of what you get here on tumblr is free verse. You'll definitely get your kicks if you follow these reblog-blogs.

in light's language
Once in a few lifetimes  The moment before lightning - this is my mother tongue  The River I am chasing
I saw my face Not just reflections I will not be led underwater  The crocodile in the pool Confuses fear with wit I fought for discernment  No riddles of chance  Can write for me

for the noise
Shame and anger are  Dead birds  None can teach - and the song Turned to noise For the noise it is sung
I placed white light in your palm -  I let you decide My part is over; This is not my strife
I am a tree Come and rest, birds My roots spread to the sky

line/room
I am tired of making decisions
I want to be a temple where time entered and stayed I want to watch his hair Fall over his shoulders  To be gentle with half-singed stories  Think of the colour of jagged skies - the one yet to be imagined  Of doors that lead to only one room
I am drained and restless
I was left a precious stone, and my hands Were broken, stepped on, made a headrest  For helplessness
I want this poem to linger - to find a line where One can stay silent and still  For long enough  To be certain, and to understand

crawlers
Is this body made of light Or sunken ash? The Sun lingers in my room Are these veins strength  Or merely power?
What roots still crawl beneath  Deceiving each star? Where should my fingers go?  Each door cradles the same room  I was sincere  Simply new to this skin  Why should I drown?

space supreme
"What did you read about? Is the headache gone?" I did not ask for much - yet how much lighter the thoughts became  I can make coffee Just the way you like it
I do not know how to open  The doors to every room This one, with the view Of a quiet present - we both like it  What I read, it does not matter;  It will never matter again Spacetime split There is an idea, like ivy it twines  Around my ribs  Like a colour yet to be It can be written down  Only with your hand

lovely meat
A hand of dirty losses  A torment to be understood - do not repeat
Why does it leave  Such a cruel taste? Tears me from my ribcage  Truth is quiet and purity this usurper  Would kill to smoulder
This song of sunrise  It turns to stone In its waiting and fears It has never been enough  To ever be

somebody's fault
The silence was about to hear its last song  Yet was slain A godling unripe had the right And let it grow teeth
Some carry a simple prayer  A plea that words can only harm They never die - they simply have one chance  To be heard, catch the mask   Find a gentler light
If its edge is sharp  They will never be pure again

bones
I am weightless and vast Fear has no substance  I know no language and I have no aim
There is simply A sun to bury Dying; I can help him be born
My knife slides across a bone My name is no more My name, it is
The dawn of the second brother  For a poet, words are obstacles  They are sublime The stones, the dagger, and the colours waiting to be imagined  Cover your ears and listen to them sing  They sing: "I am weightless and I was buried I have no aim but to be born"

the paws
The four paws kept following me Like any other day, and Quite differently
They will never follow me again  But those were just the paws petted: In fact, paws are much more Than two legs believe them to be
They do not simply notice, they realise Do not need alarm clocks  And thank you very much They know the stick was never thrown - but they like to see the legs smile

renaming the light
That heart you bared  Before me on a vivid night - it was a dagger of gold, a wounded silence
You do not matter - only your name  Rulers, inescapably human Stubbornly renaming the light - revered ghosts with familiar bodies
Rebellion through tenderness  Is what my meagre palms can offer  Our river's poem says: 'To deal with the inevitable  Is also an art' Hold the brush and let me guide your hand Talk to me - I long to warm you Me, a mere naïve spark

quicksand
The moment is a quicksand  The gentle heresy of 'last time' My new eyes, a deeper shade of blue - they paint A darker picture  The one I carelessly leave behind
This mind is a sadist Ensuring they clearly see How I am being chewed on  By the flaw's unwitting cub  Only shame clings to my bones as I Lick the wounds
A devoted disciple, am I not? My novel body and same old will  I will surrender
For the last time
