the aphblr air for this year’s vidcon vs last year’s vidcon is such a dichotomy

sometimes i think about that one mystreet scene where zianna and sylvanna are doing their ninja shit or whatever and putting on makeup and garte pulls up with his “what’re you ladies up to?”

then zianna says something like oh we’re getting aphmau’s boyfriend back and so on and so forth

and then garte goes:

“is this going to cost us anything?”

brooo you own a multi million dollar corporation let girly have her elf halo glow 💔😭🙏🏻

if i post a bonus chapter about zianna in the fall of forever would that cook or flop bc it’s like half written

i know it’s pretty much canon that there’s obvious parallelism between garroth and garte, but part of me really loves the idea that zane is one who actually acts like garte, not garroth. But zane is more openly brooding and cynical and dark.

I think it's absolutely interesting to see the parallels between Garte and Zane, and yet they consider themselves so remarkably different (at least in MyStreet).

I also like looking at how they're the ones who look nothing alike, yet in a lot of ways they're the most alike, and same applies to Garroth and Zianna.

However, it's also a really interesting character study to see that Garroth is very easily what Garte could have been, and how much they are alike no matter what the other wants. This is why I was fucking starving for a reunion between the two of them in Diaries but ig God hates me and I'lll never get that.

basically this idea came to me last night in a dream

it’s garroth and zianna standing in front of a mirror but in the mirror, for just a moment, zianna sees the younger garte who had so much life in him, just as garroth does

idk does this sound even possible

I disagree with the votes I think Garte is a god at blockblast and that was the only way he managed to pull Zianna

i completely agree i just know block blast is like his 2nd job

not gonna lie, i’m glad ive found someone who can actually portray garte as a complex person, rather than a one-dimensional antagonist (same logic can also apply to the rest of the FP crew / FP scandal parents).

I think the aphfandom really has a hard time accepting these are all morally gray people who are capable of being shitty parents / partners. So, it’s really hard ranking who’s the worst or who’s the best, when really they all come from the same packet. If I’m being honest, a lot of aphmau fans would NOT handle other media like succession, yellowjackets, breaking bad, the sopranos, interview with a vampire, etc.

btw, I LOVE the mentally ill garte head-canon in ur fic, it’s so cool to see some of the mcd version of himself bleed into mystreet, just like the rest of the cast. Part of me would find it a bit funny if derek and garte met in a mental institution, girl– well, boy in their case– interrupted style. 😭😭

when writing garte, for me one point remained constant: we don't actually have his motive for subjecting garroth to the potions. we have why derek didn't do it, but not why garte did.

something about garte just subjecting garroth to the potion with no repercussions didn't sit right with me. why his first born son, who he clearly favors? why not vylad, who isn't even his son? maybe the potion had promising effects at first, and he wanted garroth to have those, but i wanted to explore that further.

so was born the concept of a child suffering a fatal illness and a father who would go to the ends of the earth to stop it.

with this in mind that it isn't canon, i really wanted to add some moral complexity to it. was it shitty to subject his son to potion experiments? sure, but in the context of the fall of forever, how can you tell a father who only saw his child in pain that he was wrong?

as far as the aphmau fandom, i definitely agree that there is an issue with understanding moral complexity. this doesn't go for everyone by any means, and i don't think it's exclusive to the aphmau fandom, but it's the only fandom i can really speak for after years of being in it. i think there's cherry picking of who is allowed to be morally grey and who is just perceived as straight up evil.

there's also, in my opinion, a huge disparity in remembering what is canon vs. headcanon. this is something that, in my experience, is pretty unique in the aphmau fandom in terms of how far people go. i think people here (and i'm not excluded in this) genuinely forget what is actually canon and what is headcanon based off some minor implications.

gang found out new lore just dropped a month ago, turns out zack didn’t cheated on sylvanna 😭 and he isn’t the biological father of ein, instead he was his caretaker??

he just didn’t give two fucks to fully explain to sylvanna the whole situation, which is why she started to assume he was cheating

yeah no not to be a rejector of lore but that quite literally doesn’t make sense

also bc didn’t sylvanna say the other woman sent her a photo of the baby?? like shit did he PHOTOSHOP but didn’t feel like explaining

i’m not saying this baby has to be ein, it could literally be some other kid, but damn

idk to me it’s just a giant plot hole. obviously i’m not the writers of the series but to me this just doesn’t make sense

a concept i’ve toyed with for fool entire, that i’ve dabbled some thought in for a while

inspired by both lore and some level of consensus amongst the fandom that garte may have been a shadow knight or involved with them

“Oh, but my Lord, that’s the point.”

Garte’s mouth gaped at the red-eyed man as the voices rang so loudly in his head. They were screams, yet they were whispers. He understood not a word, yet knew everything that was being said.

“What am I, then? Make it stop! I intend to answer The Call. I intend to silence these whispers, these… these souls!”

“You can’t.”

“Speak clearly! Whatever do you mean I can’t?!”

“You are to be forever stuck in a limbo. You will never be able to answer The Call, no matter what you try. You will age slower, though your immortality is in question.”

“No…”

“It is a gift.”

“It’s but a curse!”

“You are the purest of them all. An angel amongst us.”

“An angel? You cannot be serious. Do not jest with me. I will have you hanged!”

“You will do no such thing.”

“Do not—“

“You have been a long time coming, my Lord. We Shadow Knights call you many names. Some will call you Ever-Walker. Some will call you the Twiceborn. We have been trapped in this torturous in-between of life and death. We intend to be freed.”

“I’m a pawn?”

“Shad has called upon you. You’re the chosen.”

“I have no want to be chosen!”

“And we had no want to be resurrected. Yet, here we are.”

“I… I have O’Khasis to rule. Three sons to raise to take my place, Zianna…”

“Did I not have family as well?”

The Shadow Knight who had saved him moved closer to the bed, sitting down next to Garte. In a soft smile, he gently grasped Garte’s weak hand. His touch made Garte flinch. How long had he been abused in unspeakable ways?

“My name is Vincent. And you, Lord Garte Ro’Meave, son of Esmund, are our salvation.”

I love your forever potion crew fic so much, it’s one of the only ones out there that is decently thought out. 😭

it’s super hard to find fanfic about then without any kind of weird proship material written into the stories.

I honestly hope you continue writing more chapters, or at least make more posts about your headcanons about the forever potion crew! ^ __ ^

also, i’m loving that you guys love expansions on the characters. i always felt that there was much more reason as to garte just being like “oh teehee let me experiment on my oldest child 🤭” especially considering garroth is his favorite
