Among the info included is the ages of the characters in the 1980 series: Atom is 9, Uran is 6, Ethanol (Atom’s and Uran’s dad) is 35, Rin (Atom’s and Uran’s mom) is 27, Dr. Ochanomizu is in his mid 70s, Shunsaku Ban is in his mid 40s, and Skunk is around 40.

After watching Astro Boy 1980 for basically my whole life, I finally decided to write something for it! And now I have another horribly rare pair to consume my life: Atlas x Livian. This fic is set during their childhood, following the uncut episodes 1 and 2 from the Japanese dub, and thus, is fairly depressing. I hope that anyone who reads it will enjoy it!

The fact that 80’s Atlas’ face is generally non-expressive most of the time makes the occasions where he does show emotions through his face and voice SO MUCH MORE EMOTIONAL. WOW.

Like. The best example and one that is tearing my heart into one gazillion pieces is this scene where Atlas realises that Livian (his mother and essentially the only real friend he has) had betrayed him in order to warn Atom and Ochanomizu of Atlas’ plan to flood the planet. Atlas was HEARTBROKEN and the way his facial expression subtly changes from anger to disbelief then back to anger HURT RAAGH IT HURTS ME

I’d also like to mention how pretty he is in this scene. Atlas, a lot of the time can be drawn REALLY weirdly in the show. I can’t put it into words but it’s this certain face they give him on occasion that just makes him look like one of those giga chads and super silly. So I appreciate the noticeable effort and love put into this scene here I’m going crazy over it.
