En Super Mario Bros. 3, al momento de vencer a algún Koopaling usando la flor de fuego en el mismo instante que hace su ataque con la Vara Mágica (en la imagen, se ve que Mario salta sobre Iggy, aunque esto no es necesario para realizar este glitch), el Koopaling se bugeará durante su animación de muerte, lo que provocará que Mario no obtenga la Vara Mágica como uno lo haría normalmente.
Y como el juego está programado para que el reloj de tiempo se detenga cuando Mario elimine a un Koopaling, es imposible que el jugador agote el tiempo para reintentar el nivel y este quedará atascado ahí. La única solución es reiniciar la consola (perdiendo todo el progreso realizado).

In Super Mario Bros. 3, if any Koopalings are killed with a fireball on the same frame as using their wand attack (in the footage, Mario also jumps on Iggy, though this is not necessary for the glitch to occur), that Koopaling will glitch out during the death animation and Mario will not be awarded the wand afterwards.
Since defeating a Koopaling stops the timer, it is impossible to wait out the timer to try the stage again, so Mario is stuck in that room forever and the game must be reset to continue.

Normally, after activating the midway checkpoint Star Barrel in the Mine Cart Carnage level in Donkey Kong Country, dying and restarting will result in the playable Kongs falling from the barrel directly into the minecart positioned underneath it, and starting the minecart sequence.
However, due to an oversight, a well-timed jump out of the barrel allows the Kongs to not land in the minecart. Due to the way the "spawn out of the Star Barrel" action is programmed, not landing on ground or a minecart after spawning actually gives them the power to perform infinite double-jumps, as seen in the footage.
Rolling resets their ability to jump to the Kongs can just air-jump their way to the end of the level without engaging with the minecarts.

In Donkey Kong Country, there is a glitch with Really Gnawty, the boss of the Gorilla Glacier world, that occurs if the player chooses to deal four hits to it and then simply survive its attacks for a few minutes instead of dealing the final hit.
If this is done, the boss simply stops working after a while, becoming stuck in the corner in the manner shown in the footage.

In Mario Kart World, CPU drivers on higher difficulties have actually been given the ability to perform this technique, which is just one of many additions to the CPU behavior in this game that results in them being more formidable opponents than in previous games.
