I really hoped I wouldn’t have to do this again but I need your help please

I’m behind on my rent again. My benefits have fucked up and I’m not gonna get any more money for this month. I don’t know what else I can do, as I can’t work for the moment. My mental health has been deteriorating. I’m doing everything I can to get support but I’m not getting any. I’m not getting any help or support from my family either, so I’m really struggling.

I even went to the hospital few days ago, to see NHS mental health service because I’m feeling suicidal and they sent me home, sobbing my heart out, with a few pieces of paper. I feel so helpless and lost. I mean, if NHS can’t help me with my mental health, then what the fuck am I supposed to do?

What’s worst is that there is a guy living in one of the rooms in my houseshare, he went to prison in March but he’s back. He is aggressive, violent and he’s even threatened me a few times. I don’t feel save here at all.

I really want to pay off the rest of my rent I owe, so then I can hopefully move to somewhere nicer and cheaper. But I can’t until my rent is all paid off

Like, you can go on tumblr and simply read stuff in your mother tongue? Amazing. Go on youtube and you don’t have to replay some sentences ten times to try to understand what they’re saying? Incredible. Look for practically anything on google and know that there will be a fuckton of results that you can read without having to spend half the time looking up words in a dictionary? Fascinating. Make a post or send an ask without panicking that you’ll make a silly mistake or that they won’t understand what you meant? Unbelievable.

My mother needs surgery.

I’m a student who lives with my mom in Moscow, Russia. We don’t have our home but we rent a flat in the end of the town. My mom works as a seller in a clothing shop. She gets enough money for paying for the flat, food and some other needs, so we don’t have to worry about the roof over our heads.

But something happened two months ago. My mom fell from a ladder while working at the storeroom and she damaged her leg badly. I can’t explain what exactly is wrong with it ‘cause I’m not a doctor but now my mom has some problems with the right knee and also she limps. She came to the doctor who said that she needs surgery, otherwise she will limp forever.

So, the main problem is money. Surgery costs 20000₽ (about 300$) and that’s quite okay, but implants cost 52000₽ (about 785$) and it’s too much for us. Maybe you’re thinking “hey, but why doesn’t her employer pay for her operation if it has happened on the job?” Well, my mom works semi-illegal, that means that she isn’t bonded with any contract. This kind of job has been existing in Russia since 90’s so it’s not that abnormal.

So, if someone read this post up, I ask for help. I will be glad any cent because even it will mean that you care. I can’t work right now because of exam preparations (I’m in senior grade) but I want to help my dear mom who I really love and admire.

Please help?

Hi!  I hope you can help us out. My dad needs around $125 for his medications (and next round of labs and checkup). He suffered a mild stroke and has since been on medication after his release from the hospital. He takes 8 tabs of meds each day (Zynapse twice a day; Carvedilol twice a day; Losartan; Aspirin; Ambesyl; Atorvastatin) and without insurance,  we are struggling to buy his meds  since most of our income got swallowed up by rent, food and bills.

So i saw a post a few days ago about neurotypicals who say that stim/fidget toys make you *less* focused and how fucked that is and it got me thinking of an analogy.

So you know when you try on a friend’s glasses and you can’t see shit???? Their glasses make your vision worse, right? But you realize that it’s because YOU DON’T NEED THEM. You might mention or make a joke about how blurry things are for you, but you still understand and appreciate that the glasses help your friend see, even though they aren’t good for you personally.

So when you try your friend’s tangle or fidget cube and claim, as a blanket statement, that it makes you *less* focused and that your friend should stop using it for that reason?? You’re being just as much of an asshole as if you tried on your friend’s glasses and said “wow, you know these ACTUALLY make your vision WORSE, right???” because you’re assuming that your experience is the same as theirs when it’s really, really not.

Friendly reminder that tumblr’s so called exception to the censorship of allowing “nudity in art, such as sculptures and illustrations" means fuck all, fan art is already being culled.

Tumblr has already started flagging illustrative posts, some with no nudity at all, some with partial nudity such as two men with shirts off not even touching each other and this seems to be especially happening to queer couplings. Some pictures with no nudity at all are being flagged though too, even a friggin picture of a turtle was flagged.

1. The censorship bots aren’t able to discern between a turtle and a cock. This isn’t going to go well.

2. Queer content already seems to be targeted worse than cishet.

3. “Female presenting nipples” is just a terrible way to start justifying censorship, then adding to insult telling us nips are okay but only as long as it’s in the context of females pushing out a human because hey that’s all women and their bodies are good for amiright and then also particularly targeting queer content for censorship. You must have known the uproar that would cause. Seriously. Just the wording is asking for an HR disaster. I wonder who let that get through, but then at least it shows the true colours and intent behind this.
