Your impact on other people is bigger than you think. Someone still giggles when they think of that funny thing you said. Someone still smiles when they think of the compliment you gave them. Someone silently admires you. The advice you give has made a difference for people. The support and love you've offered others has made someone's day. Your input and opinions have made someone think twice. You're not insignificant and forgotten. Your existence makes a positive difference, whether you see it or not.

nothing feels as good as starting to read again when you haven't held a book in your hand for such a long time and now the setting sun is in your room and there's paper under your fingers and you feel so good about letting the words float into you again

Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel... Sad. Desperately sad. A wholly avoidable tragedy. If someone, anyone, had chosen to act. Just care. Care about people. More than you care about things. More than you care about looking foolish if you’re wrong. Just care. Whether that person is a stranger. An adult. None of your business nor your responsibility. Just care.

You know, its funny; before Covid I was already a little reclusive. I read about ornamental hermits, hired by well to do folk to live on their expansive properties. Supposedly, a job requirement was to be “sociable”. A hermit...sociable? I was thinking how easily I could do that job before the sociable bit. Since Covid, having discovered how it feels to have my wings clipped; I realise with regret that I should never have wasted all that time plucking my own flight feathers...
