Rules
Be active. Please don't join this roleplay if you're just going to ditch. We've put a lot of hard work into this and we want to enjoy it; just stick it out, pop on a few times a week and we'll be golden.
Be literate. This is a multi-para roleplay. Please post at least two paragraphs (think around 300 words for a small example) for paras and spell-check your writing where possible. Everyone has an off day, but repeated bad grammar and spelling is uncalled for.
Be in character. If you play Rachel, then make sure she behaves like Rachel. She's not suddenly going to become a delicate flower and be nice to everyone, she's going to be the same ambitious and somewhat blunt girl we all know and love.
Be sociable. Although your character might be an ass, you don't need to be. Try to interact with everyone, not just potential future partners, and keep drama in character. If there's any out of character drama, tell an admin and we'll try to help you sort it out.
Be over sixteen. This might seem unfair to some people, but given the potential content of this roleplay, we feel it's necessary. No exceptions will be made so don't ask.
Be happy. This is a roleplay! Just enjoy yourself and everything will be fine.

Vampires
Known vampires: n/a.
A vampire is a dead human who, before dying, consumed vampire blood. After death, they undergo a transformation; the vampire blood infects the dead blood, turning them into a vampire. Three to five days after death, they return, unliving but intact. Vampires are well known in modern culture, although in recent years they've been adapted to become romantic creatures. This isn't the case. Vampires find it difficult to survive in the human world due to their more obvious issues - namely, being dead. The first vampire was the product of a demon and a werewolf breeding; as a result, they retain the advantages of their animalistic ancestors, but the demonic influence gives them more control.
Abilities
Compulsion. The ability to manipulate the mind of the living. Vampires have the ability to push living creatures (human or demon) into doing their will. This doesn’t work on everyone; it depends on how strong their mind is. In this instance, strong will and strong mind are the same thing. Vampires cannot make people do things that aren't in their nature; for example, they couldn't convince a true pacifist to kill someone. Generally speaking, very few people are that susceptible to influence; most vampires simply use their ability to make their victims compliant enough to drink from. Compulsion also cannot be used to make more vampires. This has to be by choice as it involves their death.
Eternal unlife. As vampires are clinically dead, they do not age and don't grow weak, as long as they keep a steady diet. Some find it a blessing; younger vampires tend to find it a curse. They never decompose and, contrary to popular belief, they don't burst into flames in sunlight (nor do they sparkle); they find it mildly uncomfortable due to the heat of the sun warming up their blood.
Enhanced senses. As vampirism is a corruption of the werewolf curse, they retain the enhanced senses of their werewolf kin. They also tend to be faster and hardier than one would expect of a walking corpse.
Weaknesses
Fire and werewolf blood. The sun heats up vampire blood and makes them uncomfortable; fire straight up boils their blood and destroys their bodies from the inside and outside. Vampires can survive being near fires and even being on fire, provided they put it out quickly enough. Werewolf blood is poisonous to vampires, as it seeks to destroy the demonic side to their bodies and turn them into full wolves. Vampires poisoned by werewolves almost always die, unless they can purge their body of the blood quickly.
Hunger. The biggest downside of being part demon, part werewolf and all dead is hunger. Vampires, like demons, tend to need to feed every five to seven days, but can only sustain themselves on human blood. If they don't feed, they become more animalistic and the urge grows stronger until they lose control and attack until they are sated. Vampires cannot eat or drink human food; it sits in their stomach and rots, so any vampires who try end up having to purge themselves of it again later.

Incubi & Succubi
Known incubi/succubi: Sebastian Smythe.
An incubus (male) or succubus (female) is a demon who feeds on sexual energy by either kissing or having intercourse with another person. Although according to tradition, incubi target women and succubi target men, the truth is that like humans, they have a variety of sexual preferences and indeed, favourite food types. They breed and look exactly like humans, meaning they can pass undetected in most societies, and although they can eat and drink human food, it doesn't sustain them in the same way as their true food. The easiest way to spot an incubus or succubus is simple; they're often the most sexual creatures in the room and when they feed, their faces transform into their true demonic form.
Abilities
Feeding. The ability to suck the sexual energy from other living creatures. Young, starving or uncaring members of this group can kill while feeding as they must exercise control. Feeding is extremely enjoyable for the victim, akin to an intense orgasm; no victim has ever died with anything less than a smile on their face. The victim doesn't remember the feeding process, just the pleasure. Side effects of feeding for incubi/succubi include healing injuries and enhanced strength/speed.
Seductive touch. The ability to seduce another living creature through skin contact. This doesn't work on everyone; it depends on the person's sexuality (their true sexuality, not what they think they are) and how strong their mind is. Remember that strong will does not equal strong mind, and if someone desires sex or the incubus/succubus in question already, seduction is almost guaranteed. Works better on humans than other creatures.
Resurrection. The ability to bring someone killed by an incubus/succubus's power back to life. An incubus or succubus can breathe life back into those killed by one of their own kind. This only works if it's within twelve hours and provided they have enough energy as it is an arduous task that drains their own life energy. The resurrected tends to be devoted to the one who brought them back for a little while, although it has been known to become permanent if the incubus/succubus in question fed on them regularly before their death.
Weaknesses
Mortality. Although incubi/succubi are descendants of demonspawn and tend to outlive humans, they are vulnerable to the same things humans are. Bullets, knives, snapping their neck; they can be killed in regular ways as long as they can't heal. Stopping the heart, lungs, brain or causing extreme blood loss are guaranteed ways to kill these creatures.
Hunger. All incubi and succubi need to feed on sexual energy in order to live, the same way a human needs water or food. Unlike humans, not feeding can drive them crazy. Most of these creatures learn excellent control early on in their lives, but after six or seven days (longer for some older or better fed demons), they tend to lose control and have been known to kill accidentally.

Werewolves
Known werewolves: n/a.
A werewolf is a human cursed by bite or bloodright to transform into a monstrous, massive wolf on the night of the full moon every month... Or so tradition holds. Although the basics are correct - werewolves can be made or born, and they do indeed transform into larger-than-life wolves - it isn't just during the full moon. Young wolves tend to transform during the full moon due to an affinity with the lunar cycle, but older wolves can transform whenever they like. Likewise, young wolves tend to have little control or humanity while transformed, while older, more practiced members of their community can control their instincts to a degree. While they live longer than regular humans and have enhanced senses, they are still just people; they're cursed, not demons themselves. Their true curse isn't the transformation; it's dealing with what their animal instincts do to them.
Abilities
Transformation. The ability to turn into an abnormally large wolf. Younger wolves (born or made) transform only around the full moon and are extremely out of control and savage. Older wolves can transform out of the lunar cycle and, with practice, learn to curb their savage tendencies, or at least guide them to wild animals instead of people.
Enhanced senses. When human, werewolves retain enhanced senses. Although they aren't as good as their wolf forms, they could still potentially track someone by smell and hear or see things most people can't.
Longevity. Werewolves have a longer life than most people, provided they manage to stay out of trouble. They are also hardier than humans, although they can be killed in regular ways while in their human form. In their wolf form, however, most conventional weapons are useless and damage can be minimised by transforming back into a human.
Weaknesses
Silver and wolfsbane. As in legend, werewolves are susceptible to silver and wolfsbane, finding it poisonous. Although they can survive, if it's left untreated or is a large quantity, they will die. A silver bullet to the heart or brain will cause instantaneous death, even in wolf form. In human form, they are allergic to both of these items but can usually survive. Silver is a common way for hunters to track down werewolves. In human form, they are susceptible to most conventional weapons, but it takes more to kill them.
Lack of control. Werewolves are notorious for their short tempers in human form, often flying off the handle, particularly around the full moon. In werewolf form, they are savage creatures with little control over their bloodlust in their early years, slowly learning to curb it towards whatever their preferred quarry is.
