So I have never written anything before, but I saw a TikTok that said "What would you put at the end of a book to make the reader question everything they know?" This is what popped into my head. I know the grammar is more than likely not good. Please bear with me. Also I know I use the word "really" often but bear with em please.
TW: Mentions of death. Possible mental illness.
Tumblr media
"When will you get over it?" She asks.
"What?" I responded.
"I said when will you get over it?" She repeated.
"Get over what? Daisy, what are you talking about?" I ask confused.
"I'm talking about how I'm dead and you are playing make-believe." She states nonchalantly. She stares at me as if she was waiting for me to confess. I didn't even know what she was talking about. Dead? She wasn't dead. There is no way she was dead. She just couldn't be!
"W-what do you mean you're dead? I-I can see you, talk to you. You aren't dead." I stumble to get the sentence out. Confusion starts to bubble up. Bile rose in the back of my throat. But she just laughs. Laughs? Panic begins to settle and I no longer feel as if I am talking to Daisy.
"Funny you say that... since you are the one who killed me." She states as if it is a known fact.
"What are you talking about? I didn't kill you. You are right in front of me." I didn't understand. She was standing right in front of me. How could she be dead? There is no way.
"Am I?" She retorts.
After Main gets arrested and charged with the murder
"Isn't it funny how things work out? One day you are sitting in a coffee shop working on your paper; the next you are facing a Death sentence for someone you barely know. And the craziest thing about it is..." (which would lead to the next book)
Or
"She's really dead. Wow. I-I thought it was just a dream. Albeit a really really bad one but still. I didn't think that she was actually dead." I sit there thinking, what could have possibly happened that day? How could I not remember? Why is it that I am the only person who doesn't understand?
"I know." A voice calls out.
"Who said that? Who is here?" I look around frantically, where is the voice coming from? I thought I was alone in the room.
"Look up." The voice commanded.
There I stand looking in the mirror, more confused than before. "Hello?" I ask. And then I see it. My reflection. Staring. At me.
"You aren't that bright are you?" My reflection asks. My breath hitches and I freeze. "Come on now, you didn't think that you could kill her? Did you?" (Also would lead to next book or might just be the end of an entire series)
