Daisuke smiled happily as they made their way up the stairs. He was just happy to be at Hikari’s side again. That grin soon grew even more.
“Well, I’m happy to be with you, your majesty.” He grinned in his own excessively cheesy way as they reached the door. The chill in the air was still coming strong and as soon as she had it open her happily followed her inside.
“That sounds nice.”
Feeling the chill of the weather, Daisuke leaned a little closer and went from holding her hand, to putting his arm around her shoulder. He was already shivering from the wind - and he was sure she was cold too.
“That was cheesy, yeah, but that’s okay. I feel the same way.” He smiled at her, as they drew closer to the apartment complex.
She leaned into the warmth of his embrace as they walked, a soft giggle following. Maybe she was cheesy but Daisuke just brought that side of her to the surface, something she didn’t often just share with anyone. “Maybe I should be called the Queen of cheese or something then.” She teased, now making her way up the stairs with him and to the door. It didn’t take long to procure her keys, unlocking the door with ease. “Now let’s get in here and warm up!”

“I always like snacks,” He admitted as they walked. “But mostly I just want to be around you again.”
“I feel the same way. Being away for so long was weird and it didn’t feel right without you around.” She admitted, gaze shifting ahead now. The fall weather put a certain chill in the air, one that had goosebumps rising on her skin. At lease Daisuke was keeping one of her hands warm. “That sounded a bit cheesy, didn’t it?”

As always when he felt Hikari’s lips touch his skin, Daisuke felt warm and tingly all over and immediately began to blush so hard it could have passed for makeup. He just let out a happy chuckle - before returning to his senses and smiling at her.
“Well I guess I’m glad for that. Ahhh, Hikari, it’s been too long. We have so much we should catch up on.”
“We really do. How about you come over and we can talk all about it?” She offered, only pulling away to take one of his hands in her own and lace their fingers together. She wasn’t in any hurry to let him go right now, not when it felt like if she did he would disappear. “I even have snacks I’m sure you’ll like!” The bearer of light happily chirped.

“Well you certainly seem like your normal cheery self.” A giggle was the response, mocha hues taking note of the blush forming on his cheeks too. Timidly she leaned up on her tiptoes, glossed lips pressing to his cheek before she lowered herself back down. “But I wouldn’t ever change a thing about you, Daisuke-kun.”

Daisuke still felt confused, but he was far too happy to see Hikari to worry about it. It felt nice to have her in his arms, and it had been far too long since he had seen her. The smile grew across his face.
“I missed you too, you know.” Daisuke nodded. “How have you been?”
“I’ve been hanging in there. What about you? I was worried for a little while when I didn’t hear from you.” She admitted, a light blush creeping up on her cheeks. It felt so right to be in his arms again, almost like she was coming home. Part of her wanted to kiss him but she held it back for now.

goggles-and-noodles answered your ask
A lot had been going on as of late. But could she honestly just tell him? It would be putting quite a lot on his plate… Instead of telling him she offered a smile, not yet pulling away from the hug though she did shift to look up at him.
“I just missed you, that’s all.”

Hikari is just going to run and leap into his arms. No explanation, just her pretty much tackling the poor goggle head.
Blinking in surprise as he felt her body hit his, Daisuke yelped a little - but he instinctively wrapped his arms around Hikari. He had no idea what was going on, and one of his eyebrows raised.
“Hikari-chan? Um… what’s up?”

I just want to draw some attention to what would appear to be Wizardmon’s hat in the upper left corner behind Omegamon’s shield. I have no idea what that means or signifies, but that is an interesting thing to see, especially given what happened to Tailmon in the last movie, and the fact we’ve had Wizardmon’s ghost show up before. ... I swear to God, Tri, if this means Vamdemon is somehow responsible for all of this...

I feel the same. I kinda enjoy tri. but not fully 100%. Tbh there's no season I fully enjoy. I have issues with all of them, but i like them all. And tri. is not an exception!
Mmm. I’m pretty much the same. The seasons I love and the ones I’m meh on both have some great moments and some stuff that drives me crazy. I can’t help but love them all though. Digimon is so ingrained in my childhood that it just makes me happy, even when it makes me mad. XD I hope that makes sense.

I feel like I need to rewatch all of Tri and just try to figure out what my feelings actually are on this series. I mean, I can’t say that I dislike it and think that it’s bad... but I also can’t say it’s been well-executed, or that I am happy about all of the decisions made and directions gone.

Okay with my random quick Tri babble out of the way...
Hi! I’m a dork-a-doofus who loves Digimon and is still alive. :3 I’m actually really gonna try to be back this time! Stuff under the cut explaining and whatnot.
I know that the last couple of times I’ve returned it has only been sporadic. >_< My apologies to all of my friends and RP partners and just anyone else who was like “Hey whatever happened to that guy who does the Daisuke? No not the good one, but the other one.”
Long, long, painfully long story short - life is crazy as an adult. I gotta adult stuff. Starting my own business, have responsibilities, and also I’m easily distracted. >_< But I really do love tumblr, and especially the Digimon community. Digimon is one of my biggest fandoms I’ve loved since I was very small and watched the horrendous US dub as a child, and I still love it now.
So I’d like to try to be active again. ^^

Tri Stuff.
I have so many mixed feelings on Tri as a whole. It’s not the series I would have wanted as a “Digimon Adventure 3″, but I could go on a whole rant about expectation versus reality, especially with a beloved media property coming out many years after the original. It’s far easier for me to be critical of Tri because I’m not the child I was when I watched Adventure and 02, and also because I’ve had literally over a decade to dream up how I’d want to see the story continue. That said, even being completely objective and looking at Tri as it’s own thing, there’s still some weaknesses. The plot is - so far - very scattered and the pacing is all over the map.
However, for whatever complaints and grips I have on it, I can’t say I dislike it. At least not yet. There’s so much that is unexplained that I desperately need answers to - and if the final movie delivers those answers, I think I can be overall satisfied by Tri. If that final movie does not deliver those answers, then whatever the payoff I think I’ll feel unsatisfied by it.
However... with all of that said... THE DARK FUCKING OCEAN. HOLY SHIT YOU GUYS. THE DARK OCEAN IS BACK! I’ve literally been waiting since Adventure 02 ended for some closure to the Dark Ocean story and now we might finally get some.
I can overlook a lot of my complaints if they finally delve into the Lovecraftian waters of the Dark Ocean. ... of course, another movie, and still no sign of the 02 Crew. By now I expected as much. I’m still holding out hope they will return in the final movie. And maybe I’m totally wrong - but hey, I DID call the Dark Ocean stuff after the last movie.

Well hello there strangers! Guess who isn't dead? And guess who thinks he's just figured out the mysteries behind the Zero Two kids, Himekawa, Gennai and what happened between Zero Two and Tri?
Going on down to spoiler town! So be prepared!
Okay, let's start with a small recap. Thanks to the most recent movie we now know that Himekawa and Nishijima were two of the original five Chosen Children who were reference in the first Digimon Adventure. That group saved the Digital World before the Adventure Crew, and four of them had their Digimon become the Digital Gods from Zero Two. We now know that the fifth – Himekawa – lost her partner, and has been obsessed with the idea of rebooting the Digital World to find her partner again.
We also know she's been working with Ygdrasil and “Gennai” to make this happen, presumably for a while. (I say “Gennai” because we still have no idea if he's actually Gennai.)
We also know that Himekawa was tracking the locations of the missing Zero Two kids, and that their locations were listed as “unknown”.
We've also seen that the Adventure Crew has been uncharacteristically quiet about the Zero Two crew. They haven't tried to contact them, they haven't acknowledged their being gone, and even though they clearly recognized the fake Kaiser as Ichijouji, their reactions seemed... off. Almost like all they knew him as was an enemy. There was no surprise that Ken was back to being the Kaiser, and no real time spent trying to understand what was going on, or to look for Ken or the other Zero Two kids despite fighting the Kaiser and Imperialdramon.
And now, finally, I think I understand why.
Ygdrasil, Gennai and/or Himekawa tried to reboot the Digital World once before. They enlisted the help of the four missing Chosen Children, but something went wrong. My guess is the Chosen Children realized something was wrong about the reboot and acted to stop it – and so the result was a failed and only partial reboot of the Digital World.
Whatever happened to stop the previous reboot did have the side effect of altering the memories of the original Chosen Children as they pertain to the Zero Two crew. In other words – it wiped out most of what they remember. They probably only know Daisuke, Miyako and Iori as classmates, and Ichijouji only as the Kaiser.
This would tie into the themes present in the previous movie and the most recent one. Themes about the idea of losing one's memory of friends, and the fallout from that.
And there's one more piece of evidence... the poster for the next movie. It features Hikari and Meiko, and more importantly, it features Ophanimon Falldown Mode. If you're unfamiliar, it's a DARK evolution of Tailmon's ultimate. Similar to what SkullGreymon was for Agumon.
Every Chosen Child in the movies featuring them has had to face the opposite of their crest. Taichi was being cowardly, Yamato was being a poor friend, Sora was confronted with Biyomon's lack of love, Koushiro was tormented by his lack of knowledge to fix the Digimon, Takeru faced the loss of hope of curing the Digimon, Jyou was being irresponsible with his duties to the Digital World, Mimi was being unreliable to her friends – you get the idea.
Hikari is the Crest of Light. She's also the... “weird” one. She's the one who has in the past made Agumon evolve, been draw to the Dark Ocean, and been possessed by Homeostasis... but always, she's been the Light. So what could make Tailmon Dark Evolve?
… Well, just imagine if Hikari learned that she had other beloved friends that she had forgotten because of a previous reboot attempt? Especially after seeing the pain Sora went through when Biyomon forgot her, and seeing the pain they all went through with the prospect of their Digimon never remembering them? She's always been deeply compassionate and realizing that she he forgotten friends would deeply effect her, perhaps enough to explain the Ophanimon Falldown Mode.
Now I know what some of you might say. “You're a 02 fanboy and you're desperately trying to find a way they could play into Tri.” Perhaps... but at the same time, they HAVE been referenced in Tri, admittedly in a subtle and mysterious way... and why would Tri do that if there was no pay off?
I get that Tri is supposed to go back to the first Adventure where it all began and that's why the Zero Two crew is absent... but if they didn't plan on having them factor in at all, then they would simply explain that the Zero Two crew moved, or was out of town, or was busy, or something. They wouldn't create a mystery like this.
I firmly believe that what I've laid out is either correct, or at least close to being correct. I sincerely hope so. Thank you for your time.

“Something is definitely wrong...”
Daisuke could feel it now too. The sudden attack from Snimon was one thing, but there was something else at work. It was as if there was a much larger shadow looming over the Digital World. It made his heart beat faster, and his mind race.
If something serious was happening again...
Out and About!
Something felt off. Erika didn’t know it, and she didn’t understand what the Digital World was supposed to feel like to a human, but she felt…disconnected. Like there was a piece missing. Between Daisuke’s worried expression and the sudden attack, Erika was more convinced that something was indeed wrong.
“Is it strange for me to say that something isn’t right in this world? I can’t shake the feeling that something is out of place, so to speak.” Erika replied, watching the two digimon fight.

Daisuke looked down as he listened to the question. He felt so helpless, not knowing any of these things. It sounded important, and if Chibimon’s stories were to be believed - and Daisuke believed them - then it was something he had done many times.
“Courage and Friendship, huh? Okay... I mean, the way I was afraid of you before and forgetting all about our friendship makes me wonder if I can do that, but I want to try.”
He rubbed the back of his neck. “I don’t want to let you down.”
“… Good question.”
No, he didn’t know how to do that. Also the fear of Daisuke not being able to armor evolve him into Fladramon or Lighdramon scared him. He was pretty sure he couldn’t evolve into XV-mon at the moment, so if something (bad) happens… He wouldn’t be able to protect Daisuke.
“You don’t remember how to Armor evolve me, do you?”
He made a pause to hear an answer, but he knew it would be useless. Daisuke’s memories were gone.
“… It’s ‘Digimental Up’. You have to concentrate and gather all your courage to Armor evolve me into Fladramon. And focus on our friendship bonds to Armor evolve me into Lighdramon.”
This won’t be easy…He thought.
