its not even in an edgelord way its like. almost clinical. like endlessly trying to rationalize death and your own grief and all of the variables that converged to make this specific event happen. like i don’t know if this is a thought loop necessarily it might just be trauma, but i will get mentally stuck on the beginning the day where one of my good friends died when we were at school and my brain will not let me leave until i have gone through every painstaking detail of what happened. like before i break free of it, i have to get to the part where i almost throw up on the lawn at his funeral after i see the box that i know holds his ashes. like i cant move to any other topic until i close out the full memory. and i feel like the same thing happens to yuuji after shibuya

Not to mental illness everyones favorite jock or anything I just really vibe with the idea that Yuuji can't ever stop thinking about death to the point of compulsive ocd-level thoughts and Sukuna's massacre in Shibuya probably exasperated that an unbelievable amount. His entire complex is trying to make sure people die their proper death, that they aren't taken before their time, that its fair, and Sukuna stomped all over that like, five thousand times in a row

no so ur right i was actually thinking about this earlier and i have always felt like wasuke accidentally cursed yuuji with his dying wish and that the fixation with death starts There. because it’s not long after that when he meets junpei who will always die no matter what, no matter how many times he replays everything in his head in order to try and find a different variable that might’ve changed that outcome. and then, for all intents and purposes, HE dies. he holds his own beating heart in his hands and dies right in front of megumi. he wakes up on an autopsy table!!!! shoko was literally like 5 seconds away from cracking open his ribs with a bonesaw!!! and that memory fits right in the endless thought loops he has about death and dying. it might not be as gory as the memories he has of junpei and nanami and nobara but it becomes part of this fucked up phantasmagoria that his brain rehashes the details of whenever he comes into close contact with death.

i feel like its fragmented and nonlinear but still very much a Loop. and it always comes back to wasuke’s last words somehow
