“Jeongguk?” you cluelessly spoke into the phone; your voice coming out hoarse and your eyes trying to adjust to the darkness of the room after having just been woken up.
“Hey...” he said softly.
“Something happened?” you wondered at his lack of words.
“No” he was quick to reply, not wanting to worry you. “It’s just, um…” he sighed, “I know it’s like two in the morning, but come outside”.
Your eyebrows furrowed at such odd, blunt request.
“Come outside?” although still confused, you rolled on your bed to get out of it. “You’re here?”
“Yeah, I…” another sigh escaped his lips, this time a little more breathy than the last. “Ugh, there’s something I need to do. Please hurry, it’s cold”.
With that, and much to your dumbfoundedness, he hung up.
Pushing every logical question you might’ve had aside, you finally stood up, rushing to the bathroom to freshen up and make yourself look at least a little bit presentable on such short notice, and then rushing once again to the entrance of your house – your hands unconsciously hugging your lightly covered body after it was hit with the cold air of the night.
Jeongguk jolted up at the sight of you, moving closer to meet you halfway near your doorstep.
“Don’t you have a flight to catch in like five hours, superstar?” you questioningly cocked one of your eyebrows.
“That’s exactly why I’m here” he mumbled, causing your eyebrow to raise even higher. “Like I said, there’s something I need to do…” your eyes focused on the way he nervously fidgeted with nothing in his hands, “and I know it’s selfish–”
“Jeongguk?”
“–And that we just confessed earlier today and we agreed to wait until I’m back from tour, but…”
He stopped rambling after he found himself being out of breath, inhaling deeply before he let all the air out – his breath tickling your lips being the reason you realised he was closer than you had thought.
Your heart skipped a beat when he reached for your hand, holding it gently for a second before it traced up your arm and then cupped one of your cheeks – his uncertain yet somehow determined gaze sending shivers down your spine.
“Wha–”
Without another word, he caught your lips mid-sentence, just locking them together for a couple of seconds before he faintly opened them, only to press them deeper against your own as they started moving along – a content hum making its way out of his mouth when they found a slow, steady rhythm.
“I’m sorry” he whispered when his lips had withdrawn from yours yet hadn’t lost their touch entirely. “I know we said…” he stumbled upon his own words, “but I, I couldn’t leave witho–”
“It’s okay” you laughed lightly under your breath, having him smiling in a heartbeat at the reassuring sound of that. “I was kind of batting my lashes when you dropped me off today for you to get a hint”.
Jeongguk’s eyes opened wide, tilting his head slightly back to take a better look at you. “I thought I was just too desperate and my mind was making up an excuse to kiss you” he sheepishly admitted.
“Nope” you shook your head in amusement, loosely wrapping your arms around his neck, “it was definitely me trying to get you to kiss me”.
His fingers wrapped softly on each one of your wrists – a sweet smile parting his lips. “Good thing I came back then, huh?” he teased, leaning in to give your mouth a brief peck.
“Mhm…” you hummed, stealing another kiss from him, along with a blissful smile of his. “I’m really glad you did”.
With both his hands cupping your face and your arms tightening their hold around his neck, he managed to steal another kiss from you; neither of you feeling like you could get enough from one another. Not right then, not ever.
“I’ll call you tomorrow before I board the plane, yeah?” you nodded your head at that. “And when I arrive to the hotel, too. And I’ll buy you lots of–”
“Guk-ah” you cut him off with a sweet smile. “Just talking to me every now and then will do, you don’t have to spend money on me”.
A mocking snort abandoned his mouth.
“And come back to ask you to be my girlfriend with bare hands?” he shook his head, resting his forehead on yours as he lovingly stared into your eyes. “I wouldn’t dream of it”.
Because although for him to come back to you once the tour ended was all you could ever ask for, he would still find every single way there was to show you just how much you meant to him.

✿ CHAPTER 2✿ Once is a coincidence, Twice is fate✿ "It turns out that half your essential papers are missing Y/n..." The principal scratched his head scanning the loose sheets.
He settled the reports down and squinted at me. "Look, I was raised with your uncle so I can just ask him to fax me the others, I estimate that would be easiest for both of us at this moment."
"Agreed." I gave a gentle smile, nevertheless upset over the strange experience I had outside the school.
"If I ever run into those brats again I vow to beat the living hell out of em'." I reflected, my mind racing with revenge.
"Are you okay Y/n? You look to be deep in thought." The principal chuckled.
"Oh I'm fine sir!" I reassured rubbing my thighs to erase the tension from my palms, "I suspect I'll start school tomorrow?"
"Bright and early!"He paused, "We're so glad to have an expert artist like you in our school."He beamed in astonishment.
I nodded in reply.
"Since you didn't listen to me before, I said that the school uniform should already be at your house, if it's then please go to this address." He set a dry cleaners card in front of me and stood up, "I hope you enjoy your stay here at Seoul School of The Arts."
Glaring at my now formed scratches, I stopped at the convenience store not very far away from the apartment my uncle had prepared for me.
I glared at my cracked phone, the glass just urging to fall off my screen. I held it like a delicate jewel, watching its reflecting lights dance in the sun.
"If only I never ran into those dimwits..." I leaned over the table staring at the bowl of ramen I made in a sloppy attempt to cheer myself up.
"If only I wasn't an artist..." I whispered glancing at the new bandages on my hand that looked like a blanket. As if the palms of my hands were in a deep sleep.
Still fuming with the anger I had, I banged on the store's table earning a few ambiguous stares from the others around me.
And as if the day couldn't get any worse, the school uniform wasn't in the house my uncle found for me.
As I searched my pockets for the business card, I received a horn honk outside the door.
I gripped the card and glared at it, " Sunshine Dry Cleaning huh?" I breathed.
I exited the house motioning for the driver to unpack my things from the bed of the truck. "I'll be back soon sir, please take your time unpacking, I'm in no rush."
He acknowledged and unzipped the cables holding my items together.
"At least I didn't lose important items... " I moaned while I strode down the quiet pathway.
I watched as the customers arrived and departed the dry cleaners, their faces held mixtures of delight and satisfaction. Whoever was working behind that counter seemed to make sure everyone left with a smile.
As I shuffled closer to the entrance I noticed a certain person I had ran into only hours before. It was the boy who seemed to brighten any room he was in.
"It seems I did lose something important to me..." I viewed the sign once more still trying to confirm I was in the right place " It seems I have lost all self-respect for myself." I trudged into the building just wishing this encounter would go smoother than the first time.
He had turned away from the counter for only a few seconds, "Hi welcome to Sunshine Dry Cleaning, how can I help--"
When he turned around it was clear to see that he wasn't expecting me.
"You look like you just saw a ghost." I teased, my eyes forming a slight slant as I chuckled.
"I just didn't expect to see you again so soon..." He held the back of his neck before putting his hands on the counter, " How can I help you?"
"I'm here to pick up a school uniform." I sighed, slightly bothered by the fact he worked here. Glancing at my surroundings, I found myself reading my cracked screen trying to make out what my uncle had messaged me, "It's under a Dr.Kim, I think... It's a school uniform."
As if things had suddenly clicked, he stared at me from over the counter, " You're the new student everyone had been talking about!"
Slightly confused, my eyebrows tensed together. " What are you talking about?"
" You're like a superhero to us!" He gripped my hands in an attempt to hide how happy he was to finally meet the so-called hero.
Pushing his hands off mine I backed away from the counter slightly, " What do you mean I'm a hero?"
"You're the Ambidextrous artist!" he shrieked.
"I'm not an artist anymore." I rumbled, " Please just give me my uniform."
He focused on me as if trying to decode what he had said that made me annoyed.
Instead of figuring it out he simply remained quiet, his eyes taking in the bandages that covered my hands.
"I'm sorry about what my friends did to you earlier today, they don't know how to handle their excitement when schools over." he giggled scanning my card, " I hope they didn't do any major damages."
"It's not like a few scratches will hurt me..." I spoke, my voice barely above a whisper.
In the end, I was the only customer who left without a smile on their face.

Chapters✿ 1, 2 (more to be added soon)
Plot ✿ After the deaths of those closest to y/n, the betrayal of her greatest friends and the sudden changes in her life, she is lead to believing that staying alone is what's best for her. It isn’t until She transfers schools that life seems to change, maybe for the better.
Word Count ✿ 912
Genre ✿ Highschool!Au, angst, Jhope x reader, fluff, semi-sad
✿ CHAPTER ONE ✿ A strange encounter
“Your parents are going to be very disappointed y/n.” The Headmaster criticized, his anger fuming from him like a steaming train.
“Parent.” I corrected.“Besides, you have to be proud of someone before you can be disappointed.” I rebutted with a slight smirk that followed a chuckle, “ She had it coming to her. I only did what was right.”
His hands folded in on his forehead, the creases between his brows getting stronger and stronger.
“What you don't understand y/n is that the girl you beat up has a family. A rich family--”
“--So that means she gets to do as they please because she's in a higher class than me or any of the others they have hurt?! You’re forgetting her and I used to be friends.”
The Headmaster paced the space behind his desk, his feet never staying still for more than a millisecond.
“They want you expelled y/n.” He growled.
“Then expel me.” I lifted my shoulders in annoyance.
“If that’s what you truly want y/n, then feel free to move out your dorm.” He consulted as he peeked at the scattered papers on his desk, “With all your art skills I think I found a school that suits your needs, but this is all I can do.”
“I’ve started alone once...” I gripped the red apple on his desk and tossed it in the air before taking a bite,” Then I can do it again.” I smiled, my eyes never leaving his.
With one swift stop and a knock on the door, he glanced back to his watch once more.
“You better get that, it seems someone was listening into our conversation.” I blurted, my body contorting in the seat as my eyes followed the headmaster's body towards the large oak door.
With an unexpected grasp on the handle, he opened the door. “You knocked Ms.Lee?”
“Yes.”
“Then by all means enter, it must have grown tiresome trying to listen from the hall.”
I chuckled as her embarrassed body entered my vicinity, the red blemish on her face only begging to be laughed at.
She sat in the seat beside me, her fruity perfume filling the room like a wave of peaches and sweet candy.
“I’ll make the preparations, please just pack up your stuff in the meantime Y/n.” He sat in his leather seat, its fabric making a creaking sound as it fit to his liking.
I promptly stood up and saluted the Headmaster before putting my hand on Lucy's shoulder earning an angry scowl from her,” If I ever see you again, it will be too soon Mook.”
In the time it took me to wander from the Headmasters quarters to my dorm room, I suddenly found myself questioning the said school he spoke to me about.
“A school finally meant for me? After transferring through so many? Gosh, he must’ve really lost it now”. I laughed to myself.
“This is the school?!” I yelled, my voice raising several new levels I never knew existed.
I examined the school. Large gates hugging the school grounds, flowers blooming around them, just enough to provide a sense of tranquility.
Along with the school were several murals, presumably created by the students and previous students who once roamed the spacious halls.
The bell had rung when the car stopped in front of the school and on cue like an intrusion of insects, the students ran out of the iron gates.
“They’re like a bunch of cockroaches.” I scrunched my face together and sighed, “I hate Cockroaches...”
“That’s what you said about my students y/n.” The Headmaster laughed, “You act like you’re supposed to have the ability to choose which school you can go to.”
“I should be able to uncle...” I muttered, my gaze never leaving the door handle.
“Do you want to make a bet?” He asked.
After a few moments of silence partially from my pure curiosity and the anticipation for him to finish his sentence, he continued, “If you really don’t like this school by the end of the month I will give you a thousand dollars.”
“And if I do end up liking it?” I exited the car with my files in hand, staring at the ground now.
“Then you have to finish the painting of your mother and father for me.”
I paused in my tracks suddenly feeling unable to move.
“does that sound like a deal?”
I huffed in anger, gripping my phone harder than before.“How do you expect me to-”
“WATCH OUT!” a voice screamed releasing questionable fear.
I flinched and looked up in time to see two people in the schools uniform running as fast as they could towards my direction. Their faces held determination, but their bodies begged to differ.
It had happened so fast, feeling the asphalt gripping my scratched skin and the body weight of two grown teens was enough to make me crawl in my skin.
Like a ray of sunshine, I was rescued from the crash.
My eyes landed on someone who seemed to brighten any room he was in. The curve of his face wrapped into his hair that seemed to flow on his forehead. His features seemed ethereal? The way his face could provide enough shock to know he was worried for my well being, yet also tell that he was about ready to punch his friends for knocking me over.
Snapping out of my trance I backed up as fast as I could within a heartbeat in fear he would hear it too.
I surveyed my surroundings, the files my uncle had prepared for me flying down the street like a plump of Geese.
“My papers!” I shot a glare at the group of boys before scurrying down the road.

“So that’s the guy who’s going to inherit the company when his dad kicks the bucket,” Taehyung says, craning his neck to peer through the blinds of the staff break room to get a glimpse of the man who’s just walked into the office in a suit that could probably be bought with three of your monthly paychecks.
“Yeah. What an asshole,” you say, not looking up from the book in your hands. Beside you, Jungkook lets out a strangled noise, almost spitting out his mouthful of food.
“Oh my god, noona. What if he hears you?” he says, fixing his glasses where they’ve slid down the bridge of his nose as he puts his chopsticks down.
“He’s all the way over there, Jungkook. How’s he gonna hear me?”
“I-I dunno. What if he decides to check out the security camera footage today while he’s checking out the building? He’s gonna fire your ass.”
“Doubt it,” you scoff. “They’d never find another secretary willing to deal with his ungrateful ass. And his dad’s demands on top of that.”
“What’re we all talking about?” Seokjin says as he walks into the break room, dropping himself into the seat beside Taehyung.
“_____ just called Park Jimin an asshole,” Taehyung answers; Seokjin’s eyes grow wide.

He scoffed head peeking out from the kitchen, black fringe splayed across his head as he pushed it back, “Love you too princess.” Your heart fluttered before you forced your face back into a scowl as you stared at the movie that was playing, vibrant colours throwing shadows on your face as Yoongi leant against the doorframe watching you with a small smile on his face. When I was a kid,I lost my uncle . I thought he went to heaven. When I got older I realized energy is neither created or destroyed. Throughout life I thought my uncle had become a new person. He had multiple chances to live his life, and in some way we are all going to go through different things in our life,we will love different people. We will cry about different things. We will be different people. We will die as different people. Everyone forgets their past life but that's not the case with me. I remember every single one.

Drabble 1: The memories
"I'll see you in the next life "she said as tears rolled down her face.
"But don't you be late".
She knew her final breaths were arriving. Yet she didn't seem scared. She waited patiently for her pain to be over. One last time he recalled the way her hair glistened in the sun, the way she wanted to go on an adventure whenever they met.All those feeling of love rushed into him like a blizzard of memories.
"I love you"he whispered quietly, barely choking back tears,"I've always loved you..Since the first day we met all those years ago".
"I love you too".
And after that he witnessed the perpetual life leave her eyes.
He knew she was going on a new adventure.
Somewhere far away...

What is a magic system?
When writing speculative fiction, one of the writer’s most important jobs is to establish the new rules for their world. In many branches of speculative fiction, especially fantasy and even horror, this is magic, though it can also be technology and alternate scientific rules for science fiction. Whatever alternate fact(s) or reality you utilize to make your fictional world possible, that qualifies as a “magic system.” Your magic system is most often defined by what it can’t do rather than by what it can.
Why do I need a magic system?
When writing speculative fiction, it’s usually assumed that something about your world is different than ours. That can be a small tweak or it can be a complete dismantle-and-reassembly of physics as we understand it. Whatever system you choose to implement, it needs to have internally consistent rules. If, throughout the course of your book, magics begin to contradict each other, then it will disturb your readers suspension of disbelief. You don’t want your awesome magic to yank your readers from the believability of the story. But…most important of all…you have to establish some sort of rules and limits in order to prevent yourself from pulling a deus ex machina. No one likes a poorly executed deus ex machina. Few people like a well executed one (is there such a thing?). If you have rules, limits, cost, built into the magic or technology of your world, then you establish something that is not only nuanced and interesting, but believable.
But…but…it’s magic!!!
Why write speculative fiction if I have to create and follow all of these tedious rules?! The real world has rules enough.
It’s true. But following your own rules and following real worlds aren’t the same thing. Lots of you have probably heard the little saying, “Give your world a Flux Capacitor.” If you think about it, Back to the Future’s Flux Capacitor doesn’t make a lot of sense. It’s not explained. But we accept it because it’s magic. And when Doc says, “Here’s this thing. It makes time travel possible.” We accept it because it’s a simple alteration. He doesn’t try to use it to do more than what is initially established. It never breaks that rule. It’s not used to get Marty out of an impossible situation, defying any previous understanding of the technology. That’s why it works.
So where you do start?
First, you need to probably choose what type of magic you will use. Will be elements based? Or energy based? Spirit? Physical? Time and Space? What things is your magic summoning/manipulating/drawing from?
Now you’ll want to focus on the parts that make your magic yours. Sure, elemental magic has been used half a zillion times, but it can still be interesting if you do something new with it. The best way to do something new is to alter its limits, change the cost, give it a new spin that makes your regular ol’ fire magic something intriguing.
You can do a little bit of research into ancient forms of magic, into other literary uses of magic. See what those before you have done and use it as an inspiration.
If you’re having trouble knowing where to start, I’m here to provide you some thoughts concerning the skeletal-assembly of your magic system! Use these prompts as you see fit!

How To Have A Productive Mindset

Success is in the details. Always put in 100%. Of course, this is easier said than done. Details can take up a lot of time and effort that we all believe we don’t have, but it is possible and if you really want to be on top, you have to do what others won’t.
Success wasn’t designed to be easily achieved, and it isn’t. Good grades cannot be handed out to everyone. There is this thing called a bell curve, and you want to be in the top 1%, right? It’s going to be hard, and you can’t change that. Most of the things you’re working toward are in high demand and there is fierce competition. If you want a spot at the top, you have to climb.
Working hard ALWAYS pays off. You will get out of your work what you put into it. Not only likes on your posts or a grade on a test, but in every aspect of life. There are a lot of people who can’t handle how difficult work in the real world is. If you get in the habit of putting 100% of your effort into each task and avoiding stress by being timely and organized, you will have less trouble in the future.
You may not be willing to put in the blood, sweat, and tears, but someone else out there is, and they are ready to step on you if you let them. It’s unfortunate that the world is so competitive, but there are 7 billion of us and we’re all after the same things; money and happiness. Go into every task with a fierce sense of confidence and readiness to put in the work, and you will be rewarded.
Other things to keep in mind
Keep your previous achievements in mind. You have accomplished a lot already, so remind yourself how far you have come. You have done them once and you can do them again.
You are a badass smarty-pants. Surround yourself with smart and encouraging people and support them as well. Friends are a great source of motivation. If your friends are working hard, you’ll want to work hard too.
Do not say “I can’t”. You totally can and you know it.
Don’t neglect your desire to know why you’re doing something. If you’re working hard on something, you will want to know what you’re getting out of it. That’s not selfish. Ask yourself, why am I doing this? If you don’t know, maybe you should reevaluate how you’re spending your precious time.
Success is the best revenge. Instead of obsessing over drama and temporary emotional issues, remember that success is the best way to show people they were wrong.
Put in the time and remember that it won’t last forever.
Try to enjoy the ride. It is only life, after all.

What To Cut Out Of Your Story

This kind of ties in with one of my previous posts, called Step-By-Step Plan: Editing Your Own Writing, which I highly recommend you check out:) I didn’t touch on this subject in that post, so I decided to make it a post of its own, also inspired by the questions regarding this subject.
Here is a small checklist for what you should NOT keep in your final draft, and how to fix them and improve them if you find them absolutely necessary.
Adjectives and verbs that repeat too often. Like, more than twice in one paragraph. Use synonyms to substitute for those repetitive words instead. You can find a whole post about synonyms for words commonly overused by writers here.
Pieces of information that will create plot holes. Perhaps you thought they would act as a nice bit of foreshadowing, or help the reader along to the conclusion, but now they make no sense because things in a story can change and those bits can escape your attention. Scan your draft and make sure that those pieces of information or suggestive dialogue are removed to prevent the complaint from your readers that there are a bunch of plot holes.
Pieces of information that may be untrue. If your story includes facts or conclusions that aren’t supported by real facts, {this excludes the sci-fi/fiction genre mostly} for instance, your character states that George Washington had 82 teacup chihuahuas, make sure that fact is true unless it serves some sort of purpose. Long story short, get your facts straight. Readers are good detectives and Google is their weapon.
Details that serve no purpose, bulk up the narrative, and lose the reader. If you describe the two main characters holding hands for 2 whole pages, you’re going to lose the reader. Condense it and replace that space with something that serves the plot and peaks the reader’s interest.
Cringeworthy lines and dialogue. There’s a book I absolutely hate, where the main character says something along the lines of “If there was an Olympic competition in hair, he would be the winner” and that is just so cringeworthy and embarrassing so please remove that. It’s not relatable and it isn’t cute. It’s laughably embarrassing for those reading it.
Lines that don’t fit the character’s voice or the tone of the story. Sure, characters grow and change through out their stories, but there is always some form of consistency in their personalities and everything they say/do should somehow be believable to the reader.

You can request playlists. Send me a quote, phrase, concept, etc. and I will make it!
If you have a request, I prefer if you send it through my ask box, rather than private message. I get a lot of messages from people and your request may be drowned out or forgotten about. My ask box is where I keep track of reader suggestions/input, so please use that instead.
Anonymous is disabled on this blog for multiple reasons surrounding negative messages that have nothing to do with my actual content, as well as for the purpose of replying privately in order to prevent my followers’ dashboards from being spammed with random asks.
