Hey Stripperina, I saw your SWERF bingo post I have one question. One square says "SW is objectifying", and I understand that the positive thing about sw is that it takes the control over objectification away from the viewer/man, but in the case of stripping, many of your clients are, themselves, going to view you as a object. What do you do to combat this, is there something I'm missing, etc? I want to make sure I don't say anything problematic in the future about this.

Sex work is a job.  Sometimes it is objectifying.  Other times, it’s not.  It’s not up to non-SWs to decide which is when and define our own jobs and feelings for us.  Also, according to the reasoning behind WHY they think our job is objectifying, LOTS of non-SW jobs are objectifying.  People pay to watch circus performers simply because of their bodily performance.  Is circus performance objectifying?  Is being a professional musician objectifying?  What about massage therapy?  I doubt many people would see it that way, because they tend to use “objectifying” and “involves sex/intimacy” synonymously, and that’s not how it works.
