I think the issue with fame of course, is the constant non consensual assault on one’s character.
For some, it happened for them, others to them. And outcomes tend to play out accordingly, unfortunately almost always in tragedy.
Plenty of people want to be famous until they are- and those people suffer from not being seen. It comes from a deep craving of recognition, carved by neglect, fed by narcissism. But singing, dancing, acting, these are natural behaviours to us.
If we had genuine community, fame would cease to exist on the suffocating massive scale which exists today. But instead our talents are marketed and networked, our behaviours criticized, our nature neutered, our personalities sold.
So many lose it anyways themselves in the process and never deserved it. They just experienced a symptom of our collective dysfunction and sacrificed all they are in the process.
