okay there is something so deeply sad about haku. To me. i'm not far enough in the game to say that i have a reliable grasp of characterisation but from what i've seen that man has a stunning capacity to be soggy and painful. anyone that cavalier and casually self deprecating has a world of pain brimming deep down inside them and by god am i going to force it to the surface. he very much gives me the energy of someone who doesn't feel in command of their own life (considering his familial background i wouldn't be surprised) and has gradually killed any lingering desire to be so over the course of his life. also his sensitivity to the spiritual potentially (and ironically) contributing to his detachment from those around him in the physical realm... don't get me wrong i definitely feel like he he loves and loves strongly but i can also see him telling himself that he wasn't made for anything so potent and so Real. i just. haku............. haku.................. he's so fascinating
