Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation.

His gaze has become so tired from going over and over The bars of his cage that he sees nothing more. It seems to him as if there were a thousand bars And beyond those thousand bars, no world. from Rainer Maria Rilke’s Der Panther

Quote
This sense of the tragic highlights the irreducible predicament of unique individuals who undergo dread, despair, disillusionment, disease, and death and the institutional forms of oppression that dehumanize people. Tragic thought is not confined solely to the plight of the individual; it also applies to social experiences of resistance, revolution, and societal reconstruction.
Cornel West, “Prophetic Pragmatism” in The American Evasion of Philosophy (1989)

Absolutely stunning.
This is good choreography because the emotions are more tangible than the individual steps; you see a story and you can believe it from your heart. It’s not just two dancers who dance for themselves and for their own technique (which is very easy to distinguish).
This is dance, as an art.
