a deeply underrated part of the gay taylor swift conspiracy theories is that if they're right and she really has spent over a decade sending subliminal messages based on minute details for people to decode then she's uuuuuh. many drivers do not want to hear this but it is actually never reasonable to get mad at someone for driving the speed limit. laws dont decide what is moral or what is safe but nobody on the road will ever be Obligated to break the law for your convenience and being pissed off at someone for what you consider to be the unforgivable crime of Not Speeding is an insane stance to have regardless of pretty much any possible context

I would genuinely and with all sincerity love to hear why you like Eternal Sonata so much. I haven't played the game myself but the things I've heard do not paint a flattering picture.

You've probably seen me talk on this blog in the past about games that are so high concept they're barely playable. To be very clear, I'm not misusing the term "high concept" to mean "weird" here; I'm talking about games whose mechanical design prioritises thematic consistency with their narrative high concept more highly than they prioritise actually being playable games.

While I often frame this as a criticism (and rightly so!), it's only really a problem when a game's misguided fidelity to its narrative high concept at the expense of actually-being-a-playable-game is expressed in tedious or predictable ways. When they really go off the rails, games of this type can be worth engaging with as art pieces: not in spite of, but because of the fact that they're functionally unplayable.

TL;DR: Eternal Sonata sucks, but it sucks in an interesting way.

i started watching inception but i couldnt stop thinking about how the dream rules in the movie have no resemblance to the actual experience of dreams, which is so frustrating. so i stopped. dreams are so weird and cool and exploring theyre pseudo logic can be fun! dont just throw it by the way side for your action :/
