These are Elenas explorations of type on her instagram which I absolutely LOVE. These served a large part of inspiration for my timeline - which I think gave it a quite nice structure and the use of the halftones added a really cool and unique effect.

This is another timeline expoloration I did in Elena Etters Style. While I am not a complete fan of this one I do like how the lines on 5 degree angles reflect the designers own work.

I like this style of a timeline poster as the dates do not follow a traditional "line" but instead have there own lines drawing the viewers eye to the illustration and type in the corner.

Here is my first digital exploration of a timeline poster in Adobe Illustrator... I really dig the isometric style of the letters although I want to make the actual timeline flow more cohesively.

Here I played around with a title/logo concept I had for the poster brief or my later summative

I used Elenas type experiment of combing two different typefaces to form a third new typeface. I tried to use two typefaces with names that began with the letter form that I was trying to create, which is what Elena did during her 34 days of type experiment. So for example for the letter A I used Adobe Garamond and Ariel Bold.

While this poster is more of an infographic rather than a timeline I really love the 3d Isometric style that it has.

Week 3 - Introduction to Illustrator.

I really enjoyed practicing using the pen tool as I think this will be very helpful for my timeline poster and the rest of my design career. I found I was more engaged in this class

In this exploration I used a Halftone effect and I applied a colour fill and mask onto the subject.

I believe this is what makes Elena a unique designer as her use of type is in itself the design - rather than a tool simply for communicating messages using words.
