"In my personal life, sex has never been a taboo topic but I did have to do a lot of figuring things out for myself and I thought that was a similar case for most people. I was wrong! One of the many things three years of acting school has taught me is that I find other people's stories wether truthful or fictional and the human condition in general fascinating and getting tell stories through various mediums is my favourite way to go about it. 'The Birds, the Bees and the Entire Menagerie' has been a joy to work on as it has culminated both of these things. All lessons in schools have evolved with time we no longer use chalk boards and text books we have smart boards and laptops, the internet is at our disposal, women are no longer seen or see themselves purely as baby makers and there is no denying the LGBTQI+ community, so why hasn't this lesson that is relevant to every single one of us evolved as well?" "When I was 11 years old I was told that things were about to change for me; I would sweat more, hair would grow where it wasn't, I'd start to become interested in girls and my dreams might result in wet sheets. I was told that it would be important for me to go through these changes so I could get married and have kids one day. Whilst most of it was true, there were some vital points that were left out of the conversation - a conversation that was stuck in the past and wasn't personalised for me. Can the most important conversation in our lives be the one we are most afraid of? The Birds, The Bees and The Entire Menagerie is a verbatim theatre piece that challenges what we were taught about sex, love and the basic elements of human connection.
