man is wolf to man, sure, but man is caterpillar to a different man, and man is daddy meatbringer to his cat. fluid, relational identity and interconnectedness predicated on a worthless understanding of existence foster an ever-evolving understanding of oneself and one's community, and especially the ways in which the two are the same.

I just wanted to be a little cheeky about Deleuze
#in all honesty jokes aside im immensely grateful and floored at the support ive recieved on what i thought were basically doodles with words#it's astounding to put very vulnerable high-gravity conceptual frameworks out there and not be met with overwhelm#not that there's anything bad about being overwhelmed by admittedly dense theorizing!#it's just nice to feel listened to without having to overly explain myself#:)#talk#and of course i certainly hope none of this comes off as egotistical#i just am proud of myself and want to share my joy

& by the way tell me if I'm crazy but here's a framework I've been thinking about. It's very much a first draft, and doesn't encompass all my thoughts, but might as well put it out here.
In a very broad sense, the social model of disability can be applied to most of not all Thinking About Oppression. Stay with me here - by this I mean we need to think about structural oppression as sociocultural/institutional forces that work to a) reinforce social hierarchy and b) a PROCESS in that it is a mechanism for disempowerment.
This mechanism of disabling is necessitated under a capitalistic framework that demands an ever-growing underclass from which to squeeze every ounce of labor. That is to say: Disabling is the process of structurally denying participation. Dis Abling
Disabling has two distinct parts that work in tandem: devaluation and exploitation.
Devaluation entrenches often contradictory social perceptions of a class that serve to undercut the value of their labor. This is all to enable the stigmatization (every pony please read Erving Goffman) and dehumanization of some underclass.
Examples: think the "welfare queen"'s positioning as both fundamentally incompetent AND a master manipulator, the idea of disabled folk as either burdens leeching off of The Money Of Hardworking Members Of Society or frauds choosing not to participate in production out of laziness/greed.
Both sides of these contradictory frameworks are able to exist in tandem because they both work as justifications for disempowerment, and to societally permit the second part of the process of disabling: exploitation.
Exploitation of an underclass that is seen as misproductive (does not produce to some arbitrary standard) is then justified by that prior devaluation. The devaluation works as an excuse: If these lazy cripples won't work, by god, we'll get all that we can out of them!
One potent example of how this framework can be used for analysis emerges in the use of law enforcement as justification for exploitative prison labor: criminalized labor such as selling drugs, a kind of deviant labor within this framework, serves as justification for the exploitation of prisoner labor within the system.
Another striking example is how wages for disabled people in America can go far below federal minimum wage based on an outsider's evaluation of what percentage of an able-bodied work the disabled employee is able to do. That's the exploitation. The devaluation comes in the policy's refusal to acknowledge all of the crip labor a disabled employee may have to undertake in order to simply navigate the world around them and their job within it. Instead of an appreciation of effort, their labor is exploited by refusing to acknowledge that extra effort and instead judging them by the metric of some mythical Perfectly Abled Employee.
Same with what I was touching on with domestic misogyny. The wife's labor performed in the house is devalued so that it can continue to be exploited for the benefits her labor provides to her husband. In order to continue receiving that labor, the husband is incentivized to continue to devalue his wife's effort, perhaps not even consciously: it's simply an expectation of dynamic deeply ingrained in our societal concept of marriage and the relationships within them.
Essentially, disabling is a mechanism used to reinforce oppressive social hierarchies that can be understood as having two distinct yet related parts, each of which serves a critical role in enabling the continued oppression of marginalized groups in order to uphold capitalistic power structures that demand the labor of an endless underclass.
