Takayuki Todo - Chained robot dog
Takayuki Todo (@toodooda on twt) has chained a robot dog that is programmed to attack visitors at an art exhibition in TODA HALL & CONFERENCE Tokyo, Japan. “I believe that we should take into consideration the psychology of those who feel “it’s abuse,” “it’s pitiful,” or “it disgusting” in response to this tasteless exhibition. At that moment, we perceive this man-made object as a living thing.” - Todo

Fairy Tail stage play review
Note: This review is based on the recorded version that can be bought on DMM. I didn’t watch it live.

The story
The story follows the main plot of the Nirvana arc, but very much shortened since the play is only 90 minutes(!). This means that a lot of details were not included, and the battles were shortened. The gist of the story is still there, and there shouldn’t be any problem understanding what’s going on in the play if you follow the series, even if you don’t understand Japanese. Those who have not read FT however, might have some problems following the plot since everything happens really fast.

EXO - 30 05 2013
song that got me into exo, has always stuck with me and even though the time is def visible in the cringey video the starting pose will never not be iconic.

the everlasting desire to create
i'm actually really excited, if feel this sudden creative surge flow through me. i have the need to use it to it's full potential now that it's back. i feel inspired looking back at my portfolio and acceptance letter for my college illustration course. i actually really like my art - I have such a big desire to create more and more. sometimes social media swallows me and I fall into the pit of wanting to create, but not being able to get out of bed to do so. not having enough time or will. always coming up with excuses. i want to make more paintings.
hewl's artbook came in the mail today. it was surprisingly heavy, so thick, filled with wonderful illustrations. his work inspires me so much, I get excited just thinking about it . maybe one day, people will view me as a creator and look up to me the same way I look up to him. they will stumble upon this blog and tell their friends about how cool his work is, how inspiring it is that he created all this. maybe one day.
i picked up reading again, currently rereading cat and the city, a book that has weirdly kept me thinking about it for two years without actively reading it. spending my time like this, calming down and emerging myself in music, writing. i really enjoy it and I wish I did it more. my own thoughts have led me to scribble down most of my ideas. i suddenly want to work on my comic again - flesh out my character lore for our d&d campaign or simply write my silly, probably shitty, poems down onto paper. words don't have to make sense and sentences don't have to be properly structured.

GREAT PRETENDER - wit studio (2020)
not only were the characters, storyline, animation and music enough to have my creative mind overflowing for years - the art has always stuck with me.
never have i seen a show that immediately had me in it's grasp purely based on beautiful sceneries. the use of colour to this day amazes me, and I truly wish more cartoons did this.
eventhough all of their scenery shots are based on exist architecture in various cities, it translates them to the screen as surreal, gorgeous godly structures. my desire to be able to create such beautiful, complex backgrounds and building is fueled by the existence of this masterpiece of a show.
even the inbetween shots to announce the case files, cases being progressed in changes of popping colours, give me more need to create.

the diverse cast and proper representation of different ethnicites and cultures should be a bare minimum, but sadly it is not. this netflix original had proper traits for once and left me appreciating their efforts. abby was properly fleshed out and had an interesting background, makoto and laurents usages of accents was top tier.

even looking at random stills that were mostly accidentally screenshot, I'm impressed and fawning overthe artstyle. idk if I'm glazing but the way their personalities are expressed at all times makes my head spin and my tummy warm with feelings of overexcitement and obsession over these characters and the show...

go watch if you haven't . the movie razbliuto is peak too.

jamie hewlett (1968)
@hewll, artist that co-created gorillaz, brought them alive along with their music. one of my biggest inspirations - somebody i can look up to every day.
his style range is so wide, really showing off how skilled he is. i love his ability to stylise features. i think the grunge edge my own art has was the result of my brain subconsciously copying him.
