Manhunt 2 and Biblical References

So I was digging around and noticed something interesting: Manhunt 2 actually has references that directly echo the Old Testament. The main character is called Daniel Lamb, and in one of the endings he becomes David Joiner — both first names straight out of the Bible. Looks like someone on the dev team knew their way around these themes and slipped them into Rockstar games — sometimes as allusions, sometimes as satire, or just to add depth, mystery, and irony.

Daniel — a prophet who interpreted the dreams of kings, remained faithful to God, and even survived being thrown into the lions’ den (and yes, that makes the name Leo Kasper pretty amusing in context (Leo=lion, you know)). Daniel symbolizes faith and resilience.

David — the second king of Israel. He committed some heavy sins, but repented and was forgiven. His story is one of downfall and redemption.

There are more layers too. The last name Lamb literally means «young sheep». In the Bible, the lamb represents innocence and sacrifice. In the Old Testament, lambs were offered as atonement. In the New Testament, Christ is called the «Lamb of God» who takes away the sins of the world.

The second last name, Joiner, means «carpenter» or «one who joins things together». That’s symbolic for a protagonist with a «split personality» — he’s literally piecing himself back into one whole.

So yeah, that’s the kind of stuff.

tw animal illness

my dog is sick and we can't afford the vet. my family is really worried and some of us are literally not able to sleep at night because of it. i see him declining without medical attention, and ofc we don't want him to be put down. he's very young and has a deaf brother who would miss him very much.

we have also been barely even able to feed everyone in our house properly due to low income. the debt keeps growing because we aren't able to keep up with this many people in the house. but we're all family and we have nowhere else to go.

few of us are able to work due to disability and it isn't exactly getting better thanks to the malnourishment and stress.

we are also going to be housing a baby boy soon, so we are all worried about having to care for him ontop of all of this.

please consider sticking by my side a bit and supporting my posts, either with rbs, or monetary support (of $1 or more - that's the minimum on ko-fi)

i'm too tired to draw because i have to spend the majority of my day taking care of my family because if i don't then they will be tempted to starve themselves and get worse just in order to get by without infringing on others.

and i'm terrified of being left alone because everyone living with me moved away due to costs, or died from poor health. i'm disabled myself so i literally don't have a say in the matter and i'm forced to rely on others. i have trust issues and i'm a people pleaser, so it says a lot that i'm asking for help.

i really have so much more i want to share with the world... i just can't deny that i cannot do it by myself. not in this condition.

This definitely had the opportunity to tie the 3D GTA timeline with the Manhunt timeline.

When JD said "catering to specialists", who was he referring to? Was it Donald Love? Was it Starkweather? Mr Nasty? The Pervs on behalf of the Pickman Project? All of the above?

I don’t think it is because he’s often depicted as/associated with wolves. Which, fair, wolf in sheep’s clothing is very fun.

Sorry I may come off elitist af about it. I do actually love all wolf depictions too.
