DREW ✉️ DEVON
Drew: Hey Devon. I don't know if you've seen but I'm working on putting together a family day/Spring fair event on the auto shop's lot. I'm looking to get a grill situation going for hamburgers, hot dogs, and meatless options. I was wondering if you and your family would be interested in partnering to provide the food?

DREW ✉️ DYLAN
DREW: Hey Dylan. I know you've got a lot going right now with your own fashion show, but I didn't know if you'd be interested in participating in the family day/Spring fair I'm putting together. I was thinking maybe a fashion show for kids fashions if you have or would be interested in doing anything like that.

DREW ✉️ VAL
DREW: Hey Miss Val. I don't know if you've seen or not but I'm going to be hosting a family day/Spring fair type event on the auto shop's lot. I'm looking to have a few different stations and venders set up. It's going to be family and kid -centric. I was wondering if you'd be interested in doing face painting or anything like that as a set up there?

I’m 1000 percent here for any sort of community event.  I don’t know much about family exactly though. Let me know if you need any help with any of the food parts.
Tumblr media
Cool. Josie Tate and me have been working together to pull a few ideas. I know we’d love to have you help with the food. If you’d want to set up a table or booth that would be great. I’ll leave the options for what you’re serving up to you, I trust your judgment. I’m thinking I’ll get a grill going for main courses. I’ve got a few people to reach out to, but it’d be great to have your name on our list of contributors.

There was no real way to know what the man meant with that shake of the head, though Anne assumed he was trying to tell her not to worry about paying based on context and she resolved to argue that later. If she had to, she could leave some cash for him somewhere. He couldn’t argue his way out of finding money on his car seat later, for instance. As he checked on her car, she stayed outside by her daughter’s window, making sure that she could see inside as she scrolled through her phone to pass the time. It didn’t take long before Andrew was walking back around to her side and she pocketed the phone and looked up at him to listen. One might not believe this was the same woman that had been so cold earlier, though one might guess that it was possible for her to backslide at a later date. “Thanks. I think I’ll have to risk the thought of you being an axe murderer, I can’t stay out here with her. You’re awfully nice for someone that already wrote me off, and I guess I already wrote off too.” She shrugged a shoulder, watching as he looked back over at his truck. “Are you in a hurry to get somewhere? I’m not trying to be a burden.”
Tumblr media
“An axe murderer?” Asked Drew in a jokingly sarcastic tone. “Not that it’ll mean much but I can guarantee I’m not that. I’ve never understood the point of axe murderers. There are much better and less obvious methods if that’s what you’re going to do.” Turning to his truck he opened the passenger side door to start clearing the seat of the paperwork and beer he had sitting there. “Sorry about the mess. I don’t often have passengers.” Stuffing the papers into his glove box he picked up the case of beer and walked it to the truck bed, sitting it there and turning to face Anne again. “Yeah, maybe. But, it wouldn’t be right of me to leave you out here. And if word gets out I passed you by knowing I could do something I’m sure everyone in town will have something to say about it. You’ll soon learn, if you haven’t already, that there are eyes and ears everywhere here. Always watching, always listening.” Stepping aside he motioned for her to begin transferring into his vehicle. “There’s plenty of room for your daughter in the back seat. No, I’m...Not going anywhere but home.” He tried to keep the fire out of his voice, not wanting to direct his bad mood at anyone other that who deserved it. “So no problem. You aren’t a burden. I’ll take you wherever you want to go, then I’ll be on my way.”

There was nothing to be done about her fate. Anne wasn’t capable of doing anything about her car but the man in front of her was, and she knew as much while she turned to look at the rising smoke and then back to the man she’s already managed to alienate. Her only hope was to get him to stay, otherwise she was going to have to call someone and as she peeked through the open portion of the back window to look at her daughter, she knew that she couldn’t wait. There was no way that a young child could stay out here on the side of the road. Maybe noticing that she had a child but no partner with her in sight would explain why she didn’t trust men and why she had basically accused Andrew of wanting to put her in a vulnerable and grateful position to get her in bed and then dip. Humility washed over her features and she shrugged, then crossed her arms over her chest and bit down on her lower lip for a moment. “I mean… you don’t have to go. I’d rather not be stuck here, if it’s all the same. I’d appreciate it, and I can even pay you. Is that worth a reset button or what?”
Tumblr media
Drew watched when Anne moved to check on her child and shook his head, biting back the bitter taste in his mouth and trying to push everything from the day away. He could see Anne needed help, and he could see that she realized she might have talked herself into a pickle. He shook his head when she offered to pay him and moved to the front of the car, swatting away the smoke and bending to take a closer look at what was going on. After just a few seconds he stood straight, slamming the hood closed and walking back to her. “Looks like there’s a problem with your fuel line. I’d need it in the shop to tell you if its one problem or another, but I can tell you its your fuel line.” Rubbing his hand over his hair he glanced over at the sleeping child then back to Anne. “I could call you a cab but around here it’s going to take a while. There’s only one. I’ll wait with you if you want to go that route but I could also just give you both a lift. Either way I’ll have one of my guys come pick up your car. It’ll be towed to the garage, I’ll give you a buzz when it’s ready.” Drew said while he glanced over his shoulder at his truck.

When smoke started to billow out from under the hood of Anne’s car, she stopped, glad for the small favors of small town life. There wasn’t anyone else around at the moment, so she was able to easily pull over and there was no worry of being run over when she got out of the car to check on things after turning on her hazards and checking on her kid. Her daughter was in the back seat, asleep and totally unaware. But she wouldn’t be for long, and Anne was handy but there was nothing she could do when she popped the hood and saw how hot everything was. As she moved from the front of her car to the driver’s door to get in and make a plan, she saw a car coming and decided to stay outside. When she saw the driver she almost laughed at the irony. “Why wouldn’t life give me a fatal case of foot in mouth today? Classic.”

Following everything that had gone down between him and Savanna, Drew had left the garage early. He knew he wasn’t in a mind set or position to be around many people, and he would be useless around the shop. Grabbing his keys he left for the day, intending to just stop a the local gas station and grab a 48 pack of beer on his way home. He’d gotten the beer and was on his way to the outskirts of town when he saw the car on the side of the road, thick black smoke jetting from the lifted hood. Rolling his eyes he sighed and pulled over, heaving himself out of the truck as he knew not stopping could and would be bad for his reputation. Swallowing the anger boiling inside him he stepped around his truck to talk to the owner of the car. He almost turned around however when he saw the owner. It was the new girl in town, the one who had accused him of having some sort of hero complex. Great, this was just what he needed. “Life’s funny like that sometimes. So, should I try and take a look, or should I just leave you here? That’s your choice, but I wouldn’t want to make you feel like some kind of...What was it? Damsel.”

DREW ✉️ REMY
Remy: Makes sense. Good to hear. I am too, though I'm sure that's not a surprise. Sounds good to me. I'll keep that in mind.
Remy: My son is doing wonderfully. He's just starting to crawl. I'm blessed to be in a position where I can be a stay at home dad and be here for him full time.
Drew: Cool, I try to be as flexible as possible.
Drew: That's good. Sounds like he's doing well. Yeah. A blessing.

DREW ✉️ REMY
Remy: That's some enterprising forethought. Thank you. How are you? I realize we haven't really spoken since you got back in town. Not that our social lives ever really made us talk before you left. While you're looking at dad's, you might as well look at mine. I haven't had it into the shop in a while.
Drew: Yeah well you've got to be that way, running a business. No biggie. I'm surviving. And yourself? Right, it's still nice to see you in passing however. I can do that for you. Life gets busy, just remember I never mind coming to you.
Drew: How's your son?

Details I can most definitely do! If you’re free for lunch tomorrow, we can meet up and go over some things. I’ll start reaching out to a few people, seeing if they’d be willing to volunteer some time and resources to help make things work. I’ll bring my notebook tomorrow, and we can get the ball rolling. Yes, Remy Snowbury. It’s an odd situation really, but I don’t tend to look into these things too much, I have enough going on. Mhm, boy.
Tumblr media
Lunch tomorrow sounds fine. That would be awesome, thank you Josie. I have a lot on my mind I’m probably not in a place to be friendly enough to ask for that kind of help right now. So it’s good and helpful you’ve offered to do that. I’m grateful. An odd situation? Thanks for the information, Josie. It’s helpful.

DREW ✉️ SAVANNA
Vanna: I'm done fighting with people and defending my decisions. You don't have to see thinks how I do, but it was still in the end /my/ decision to make. Forgive me or don't, accept it or don't - that's on you.
Drew: So what you're saying is you're incapable of taking responsibility for the poor choices you make, and you're tired of hearing people try and help you be better. Cool, good to know. No, Savanna. It wasn't. There is no seeing things from your boxed-in, one-sided, selfish ass perspective. I'm a calm and forgiving man, but not when it comes to this. I don't forgive you, and I don't accept it. And just as soon as I find my son, I'll do what I have to to make damn sure he knows I wasn't the one who walked out on him. Don't call me, don't text me, don't even look at me. And once I figure out where he is, don't even /think/ about asking to see him. You know, since we all have our decisions to make.

Oh, let me guess, you’re more than happy to help the pretty lady in distress, should I ever manage to get in a position that I’m just too much of a damsel to get out of myself but you already said you’d be scarce and hard to find afterwards. Lucky me. It’s nice to meet you, I’m sure.
Tumblr media
No actually, but I’m not going to argue with you. Seems like your mind has somehow been made up based on one message. You’re welcome to keep that perspective, but that perspective should also include that there isn’t a halfway decent auto shop for about thirty miles. I’d be happy to call and let them know you’re coming if you ever need. Have a nice night.

Coming into a new town and getting to know people, I know that there’s the hard way and… well, there’s just the hard way. So here goes nothing, my name is Anne Summers and I’m beginning to realize that anything I say from here on is going to be cliche or too far into the try-hard territory so I’ll end it at “come see your new favorite barista and roller skating waitress sometime at the Moon Dance or the Derby.”
Tumblr media
Welcome to town. I’m Drew Adams, I own Snowbury Auto. You probably won’t see me around unless it’s there, so if you need something auto-related let me know. Otherwise, best of luck to you.

DREW ✉️ SAVANNA
Vanna: Alright, I don't know why people keep wanting to have these conversations over text, but here we go.
Vanna: I didn't have an obligation to tell you, would you like to know why? Because you and I slept together twice. We weren't friends, we weren't even lovers. Still aren't, as you've pointed out recently. Nothing about that screams that I was required to say a word to you about anything.
Vanna: I've got nothing for you, Drew. I have no answers that you want. Everyone deserves to know their child and parents, I agree but that was a call I made and don't regret it. It was best for the baby.
Drew: Maybe that's what you think in your own mind, but I have news for you Savanna, the law will say and feel differently. I'm not one to be like that, I'm not one to start shit. I keep to my own, I mind my business, and I sure as hell don't bother anyone. When it comes to my flesh and blood, I had every right to know. Paint yourself as the victim if you want. If you have to keep feeding yourself that bull to help you sleep at night, go right ahead. But you aren't going to find sympathy from me. Not after what you've done. You had no right. None. Not a bit.
Drew: The fucked up part is that you do, Savanna, you're just refusing to do the right thing. I don't know why. Maybe it's because you like the attention. Maybe it's to keep me holding on. Maybe it's because you just can't let your life be calm and fine for two seconds. I don't know. But I'm letting you know now, this is unforgivable. You didn't have the right to make that call. And I'm letting you know now, I'm not stopping until I find my child. And make no mistake sweetheart, I /will/ find him.

This sounds like such a fabulous idea, Drew. I’d be interested in helping out with the planning and coordination, if you needed a hand. There are plenty of families in Snowbury with kids, who would definitely enjoy something like this! You already know Sean, he has a young daughter. And, Remy also has a child, he’s about a year now I believe. There are others as well, I’m positive you’ll get a lovely turn out if you’d like to pursue this!
Tumblr media
Honestly I think I could used the help. I have the vision but it’s the details I get lost in. If you’re sure you’ll have the time with all you have going I’ll take you up on that. Yeah, I know Sean’s kid, I think she’ll have a good time with it. Remy Snowbury? Has a kid? I guess I should pay more attention to shit. About a year, you say? Boy or girl?

I’ve been thinking of hosting some sort of Family Day event at the shop. I know that might sound strange, but I think it could be a good thing for the community to celebrate the coming of Spring. I’m thinking about some kind of BBQ, with some bouncy houses and food stands, little games, and offering things like free oil checks, filter checks, and fluids checks, with discounted rates for routine services. How many families in Snowbury, or people with kids, are there? Enough to make something like this work? I’m open to thoughts.
