I need my three most prudent current hyperfixations merged yesterday.
I need HUNTR/X and Talion as MUGEN/IKEMEN characters.
I need a fanfic where the girls have to deal with...fuckin'...Nemesis System Demons.
MIDDLE-EARTH: SHADOW OF WAR "HOW IT'S DONE AMV"
I guess I could always do it myself, but no promises!

The internet isn't a fucking babysitter. Watch and curate your kid's internet instead of trying to censor the entire internet.
Stop being a shitty parent. What's next? A demand for child friendly bars? Wanting child friendly sex stores?
There's places for children and there's places for adults. Stop blurring it because you're a neglectful shit.

If they have this much power over video games.
It won't be long before they restrict the archive too.
Ao3 is literally their worst fear. It had everything and anything and it will fail without donations.
Theyre blocking games, they're demanding IDs, they'll block fics too.

Endlessly diabolical how you can't say words like rape and suicide uncensored without either being criticised by idiots or punished by conglomerates.

That's not a disability.
And also, all genocidal rhetoric is bad, for the tools that may seem prudent for means that seem justified can be misused by the corrupt to then go on to massacre other groups of people.
And also, that's not a disability.
this disability pride month, we have got to remember that no disability makes someone evil
no one is evil, especially not because of a trait they cannot control. we are all just human.

So we actually need to stop letting shit slide. Payment processing companies are censoring ‘adult’ content on games (including Mouthwash), the UK has passed an authoritarian bill that forces users to give up their information to view information and mature content and are planning on targeting VPNs, and YouTube is letting YouTube kids rot while they implement an AI that decides if you’re a child based off of the content you view.
The entire west is turning into a police state by extreme conservatives and evangelicals who want you dead or want you as a slave.
Stop letting this shit slide.

Youtube is going to make you give up your government information to prove your age
Blow up YouTube's phone and email lines NOW before August 13th!
Well shit. It appears as though I have to do another post that isn't the one shot I wanted to write. So, in America, YouTube is going to try and use age verification AI to make sure you aren't underage.
What this means is that there will be an Artificial Intelligence looking over your watch history to judge if you are a child. So, if you naturally lean towards watching gaming videos primarily for children (or you just watch one too many of those), the AI will use that to say that you are obviously under 18.
If you are flagged as under 18, what will happen is that you will be cut off from anything that YouTube deems "mature", which, if you're even the slightest bit familiar with YouTube, that could mean anything.
If you have been falsely flagged, then guess what? You are going to have to: provide your driver's license, your social security number, your face, or your credit card to prove that you are in fact of age.
I will repeat that.
You will need to give this website your DRIVER'S LICENSE (YOUR ID), SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER, OR YOUR CREDIT CARD TO PROVE THAT YOU ARE NOT UNDER 18.
This is by nature extremely problematic, given how you're giving your government information to an incredibly insecure website, compared to one run by a government agency. Not only that, it will not stop children from entering adult spaces.
You can already see by how I'm describing it that this system is easy to trigger, and easy to cheat. The only purpose this serves is to compromise the security of millions. Make no mistake, that is explicitly the goal.
THE CRUELTY IS THE FUCKING POINT. THIS IS NOT SOME CUTE LITTLE MISTAKE.
Attempts to undermine anonymity and encryption by the UK, US, and Australian governments are specifically designed to make the internet unsafe by compromising the security of its users.
This not a mistake. It's not about protecting children, it's about control and fearmongering. And all the issues I've laid out makes it evident. It pushes children into spaces that make them vulnerable to predators. It forces victims of abuse to go silent online because their support group has been made inaccessible orthey're at risk of being witch hunted. And it's a dream for human traffickers.
Again,
Blow up YouTube's phone and email lines NOW before August 13th!
And if you are in a country legally requiring age verification to use websites, then you need to protest, protest, PROTEST and blow up the phone and email lines of government agencies until the law has been repealed.
Lives are stake here, this is not an exaggeration.

There is no exception. Disabilities don't make people evil. You're just vagueposting because you know you'll get dogpiled for being ableist if you say your shit out loud.
Either be a bigot with your whole chest and reap what you sow, and learn something from it, or walk quietly off into the harrowing night and stop bothering people.
this disability pride month, we have got to remember that no disability makes someone evil

So YouTube just recently announced that beginning on August 13, AI will be rolled out into the US to verify if teens are actually underaged. This new update will detect whatever content you watch, and if you are under the age of consent, then YT will lock your account unless you can show your government ID, a selfie, or your credit card. Not only that, it will strip you of personalized ads, restrict certain channels based on your age, and many more.
This is actual BULLSHIT. Excuse my French, but I have EVERY RIGHT to say it out loud. This update has actively harmed those in Australia and the UK, and when this update comes to the US, underaged YouTubers will be at a gargantuan disadvantage. They say it’s for the protection of kids everywhere - when in reality, this new feature will wreck the foundation of several creators, including myself (I’m 15, btw, and I’m pushing 16 by this October). Even worse, they have an entire app literally called YouTube Kids, and yet they neglect it in favor of screwing over their creators. I like YouTube, but this is just repulsive; I even have a new video I’m working on, and if I upload it past Aug. 13 it’ll already be too late. With this new update is right around the corner, take my advice: STAND. YOUR. GROUND.
Go onto any social media platform and spread the word of this update and how it’ll further tarnish YouTube’s reputation. Mass download as many videos as you can. Critique them with emails at how petty and intrusive this will be. Hell, don’t even use YouTube AT ALL starting on August 13 and find any other video-watching site that lacks AI age verification. At that point, you are proving that you are not willing to bow down to big private companies cracking down on what type of people use YouTube. We choose what we want to watch, not YouTube.
Do your part and just do NOT let unnecessary censorship take control of all these social media platforms.

so twitter is blocking videos of the Gazan genocide in the UK as harmful content, to comply with the online safety act. who could have foreseen that the government would use the act to pursue its political agenda under the guise of protecting children?

The online safety act, being written in such a way as to make it so that anything (not just porn) that might be harmful to children needs age verification, is absurd.
We're now in a situation where the government are trying to give 16-17 year olds the vote, but doesn't trust them to use the internet.

Anyone else noticing how all of this is happening at once.
Age verification for Wikipedia and Spotify. YouTube banning accounts for under-16s, and rolling out AI to detect if someone is actually 18 based on their viewing history (100% guaranteed to falsely mark autistic adults as children at an irregularly high rate, btw). Banning porn off Steam and itch. Attempts to ban and IP range-block VPNs. Age verification for not just porn, but anywhere you could maybe possibly see porn, including basic social media features like DMs.
What the fuck is happening. At the risk of sounding like a conspiracy theorist, what the fuck are they preparing for

They're trying to bring back KOSA here in the States because OSA successfully passed in the UK. CALL YOUR REPS AND YOUR SENATORS. This would affect fandom. Fanfiction and fanart would no longer be as easily accessible. It's also most definitely going to affect queer people and shows, movies, books, and music that contain queer themes.
You would need to enter your ID to access any of these, which is obviously a horrible idea, considering what the government and world are like right now. They're saying its for the sake of children's safety online. It isn't. It's to monitor what you're doing while you're on the internet and to block you from accessing shit they dont want you to see. It's a mass censorship and surveillance bill.
It's so fucking important that you use your voices right now. Do not stay silent. Call, call, call. Call after business hours so you don't have to speak to anyone if you don't want to. Call frequently. Be as polite and well-spoken as you're able. Let them know how it makes you feel. Tell them how unnecessary it is. Write yourself a script and read it if you have to! JUST CALL.
A child's safety online is the responsibility of their guardian(s). It's not ours.

do any of you remember that gumball episode where darwin becomes mega paranoid after watching a health and safety video so to quell his anxiety he goes out of his way to make everything kid friendly and inoffensive by propositioning it as being for the children and then he becomes a fascist at the end
