"condal and Hess are my Bosses, and my Bosses ARE FOOLS!"
I have no idea If he is the best in his category because I don't know the others, but that's my version of his words if is victorious lol
Imagine, you play a secondary character in a prestige TV show and in the second season, you get your scenes reduced, meanwhile the season, is full of moments to up lift the main cast so they can be nominated for awards. No one of them do, whatever you have 2 episodes, one speech. And you reach what they can't.

Congratulations Rhys Ifans (Otto Hightower), he has been nominated for the BAFTA Cymru Awards.

If the leaks are true, then...
no matter what the show says, Show!Rhaenyra was not victim of Cole, it was very well the opposite. You can't apply the "no means no" to women and ignore it when it's a man being SA'd. Actually you can, but it only makes your following reasonings lose all value to me. If he's beheaded by her, it will be a very cheap and nonsense way of showing how she's demolishing the patriarchy-that-refused-her-advances lmao
Even if it's a huge thing for Gwayne (our man, way to go!), Corlys was so nerfed that actually Idgad about it, his capture is not even a victory. In theory doesnt make sense, Gwayne is going to harrenhal atm and Corlys isso on the other side pf the continent...

I wonder: if show watchers are adamant regarding the Maesters bias against the Targaryens and how absolutely everything is their fault... then if put in perspective, it means the maesters down the line portrayed Aegon IV as the epithome of monstrosity (The Unworthy) just because they wanted to.
It wasn't because Aegon IV couldn't keep his pants on, it wasn't because he basically caused a war by giving Daemon his Blackfyre (the very thing Aenys did with Maegor, the future usurper), it wasn't because Westeros was racist towards Dornish influence getting stronger with Daeron II.
Nope, apparently Aegon IV was a saint whose reputation was twisted by the maesters and the Blackfyre rebellion was born out of the thin air, hein? lol
I need HBO's version of the Blackfyre rebellion. I need them having the balls to say that Daemon Blackfyre is the true heir because it doesn't matter he is a bastard, since he was acknowledged by his father (I think I've seen this same logic somewhere *wink wink*). I need them to say that the lineage of a legitimized bastard has more right than Daenerys.
I need them to cause havoc in fandom and make people fight over who has more right: Daena's son lineage or Daenerys's. Ooooh I can't wait to see how they're gonna distort the facts like the Maesters they accuse lmao.

I was watching a youtube video and shared my impressions on what could happen based on the leaks. Then tb simp out of nowhere answered "the only ambush is the tent falling on his useless green corpse".
I guess the guy thought I would foam due to the spoiler, because his answer had literally nothing to do with my comment regarding the plot, it came only from a place of gratuitious hatred for the greens. Joke's on him, idc about spoilers LMAO
#hotd spoilers i guess#leak wars#the guy is probably a casual#poor thing he will learn how to fight people online over fictional characters someday#the argably only most interesting character of theirs is now nerfed lol#there's nothing left atp

Sara Snow = snow melts against fire, turns into water.
And considering that House Strong's sigil was the three branches of the Trident, it relates to Water.
But also relates to the bastard surname of the crownlands, Jacaerys Waters. It matches all the "Jace coming to terms with his bastardy" vibe.
I wasn't sure about Sara before, but coming to think of it now, I guess she was only a metaphor for Jace's personal struggles and a poetic way to confirm that Jace was indeed a bastard, even with Rhaenys/Laenor's hint of baratheon blood.

After all the "akot7k being reshot apparently by Condal's orders in order to keep the continuity" thing, I imagine the same happening with Aegon the Conqueror show, and 10k Ships, and writers bending the knee to him for no reason.
It's crazy because if it was Benioff I could understand, iirc his father had connections with goldman sachs so naturally the son had some sort of influence in terms of bringing more money to hbo. But Condal? The guy has not even half of the prestige S1-S4 Benioff had, or a rich father.
I can already picture Condall forcing the writer to portray Maegor as a victim, saying that he murdered Aegon the uncrowned and usurped his throne just because he wanted to put Aerea on the IT. And then instead of seeing ALL of Westeros raising armies against Maegor, they'll find a way to say the Faith killed him in order to connect with the Hightowers usurping the poor innocent kween in the Dance.
I have no idea what kind of sorcery he did, but if Condal indeed succeeds in influencing the scripts of the next two shows like he did with akot7k, then I'll be surprised.

When even Martin's fave admits that "the worst woman who ever lived just because she didn't lickspit Jon" had outwitted even him <3
I wonder what would be his thoughts when dealing with Daenerys. Because even if Daenerys gets a pass because she's a child and not a masterplayer of the game of thrones yet (she's a powerful player, sit down, stans!), she's constantly thinking who are the three betrayers. He didn't outwitt Catelyn, and I wonder how Tyrion will outsmart Dany, suspicious as she is.

All his life Tyrion had prided himself on his cunning, the only gift the gods had seen fit to give him, and yet this seven-times-damned she-wolf Catelyn Stark had outwitted him at every turn. The knowledge was more galling than the bare fact of his abduction.

Aaah, I LOVE the smell of Condal and Hess getting a reality check in the morning.
hi guys briefly coming back from hiatus to talk about hotd not being nominated to any emmys.
it's a pretty huge deal, with hotd s2 being the only show in the entire franchise that was not nominated for the "outstanding drama series" award.
mind you, got s8 was nominated and WON that award, but i feel like that win was mostly about saying goodbye to one of the most iconic shows on tv, rather then the season itself.
i'm honestly very surprised it was publicly snubbed like that. it's very humiliating for hbo since they were openly denying the season receiving negative reviews.
the show has to deliver on s3 - but considering it is still run by the same people who refuse to admit and learn from their mistakes it's extremely unlikely. also considering how grrm was willing to risk being sued by hbo to talk shit about s3 script on his blog... yeah it's not looking great guys...

It's lovely how the Faith of the Seven basically haunts the narrative even when it comes to Rhaenyra, considered an antithesis of Alicent who embodies the Faith.
Watch out for some very late and obvious thoughts of mine on the matter.
Fot7 is portrayed as the "westerosi version of the catholic/protestant religion", right?
But I've just recently decided to study more about these two branches, and the heroism they desperately try to force onto Rhaenyra is basically a religious principle. How many saints/disciples/people were killed or persecuted because of their beliefs? How many of them were portrayed as selfless people, "who didn't wannit" but were forced into it because of "dUTyyY" or "divine call"?
If I take this into account, imo Rhaenyra is even more "woman for trump" than Alicent in terms of parallels.
-She's guided by a prophecy (in the fot7 it would be framed as "divine call") that shouldn't exist in her era because if the prophecy is passed down from heir to heir, the prophecy died with Aegon the uncrowned, way before Jaehaerys I.
-Not to mention she's portrayed as victim and innocent and the righteous one, the heroine who's trying to save the world but "humanity doesn't want to saved", they picked a criminal instead of she-dragon messiah.
-Lancel had received a divine vision that made him become part of the Faith militant, just like Rhaenyra received one that made her dive into this messianic path. But unlike Lancel, even after she's at least 85% sure she's the messiah, she's rebooted to be portrayed as selfless and "make love not war" again and again in her conversation with Mysaria. Plot convenience and terrible pacing, heh.
To make opposition to the Faith/Hightowers, they need to portray Rhaenyra as "make valyria great again", but tbt, they will never. If they want to portray her as victim they need to make Rhaenyra embodie all the "Faith woman/trad wife" virtues they hate so much: an inate gentle heart, kindness, dutiness, "make love not war", "i'm nothing but perfect", etc etc.
Not even Alicent, a Hightower and fervorous observer of the laws of the land, has all these qualities lol
And guess what? Heroism is considered a form of pride, a sin, if not motivated by devotion to God. Which means that tn the end Rhaenyra is punished by her heroism one way or another lmao
