I'm 20 hours into Pali and I was getting more and more frustrated because I couldn't figure out how to get a glider. So I finally give in and Google it only to find out its from one of the early main quests. I have once again suffered because of my inability to follow the main quest and only do side quests and villager requests.

Like sorry I wasn't interested in looking at an ancient ruin but the hot twink needed help making soup and an emotionally stunned dilf needed me to talk to his daughter for him, I have more important priorities then what caused the downfall of the human race I guess.

Reading the new checks that might come in due to the Online Safety Act in the UK and this is actually bullshit

And how will I prove my age?

There’s a number of methods a site or app might use to ask you to confirm your age. They might do this check themselves or use another company to do the check. These methods include:

Facial age estimation – you show your face via photo or video, and technology analyses it to estimate your age. 

Open banking – you give permission for the age-check service to securely access information from your bank about whether you are over 18. The age-check service then confirms this with the site or app.

Digital identity services – these include digital identity wallets, which can securely store and share information which proves your age in a digital format.

Credit card age checks – you provide your credit card details and a payment processor checks if the card is valid. As you must be over 18 to obtain a credit card this shows you are over 18.

Email-based age estimation – you provide your email address, and technology analyses other online services where it has been used – such as banking or utility providers - to estimate your age.  

Mobile network operator age checks – you give your permission for an age-check service to confirm whether or not your mobile phone number has age filters applied to it. If there are no restrictions, this confirms you are over 18. 

Photo-ID matching – this is similar to a check when you show a document. For example, you upload an image of a document that shows your face and age, and an image of yourself at the same time – these are compared to confirm if the document is yours.

Not only is this such a fucking breach of privacy, but this is going to hurt adults in vulnerable and abusive situations. Some adults don’t have bank accounts or credit cards or even a fucking phone. I’m one of them. I could not give half of this information even if I wanted to. What the fuck is this. Fuck the UK government. This isn’t going to protect kids, this is just going to hurt adults, and I know full well when they say “sites that allow pornography” they’re going to be going after sites that have huge amounts of queer content, like tumblr and Ao3. Queer kids are gonna lose their fucking communities because of this shit. Abuse victims are going to lose online support systems because of this.

I’m genuinely fucked off about this, and worried about whether I’m going to lose every single one of my online friends. Anyone in the UK, please email your MP and sign this petition. It needs to reach 100k signatures to pass through Parliament.

I’m only hoping the backlash will be big enough for them to stop implementing these measures.

So as much as I desperately want to be making danddads season 2 funkos right now I can't because it's looking like I will be getting top surgery in November! Which is so beyond exciting (and about damn time) but does mean I can't afford to be starting a 6 figure set of funkos at the moment. 

So I was looking for something creative I could do that I already had the materials for and found these adorable Bell jars that I've had for ages and had so much fun creating these tiny scenes. 

I normally only reserve my tumblr for fan art and funko pops but wanted to share these if anyone wants to support me.

All these miniature fantasy scenes are available to buy for £8 each or 2 for £15 plus postage. Message me for details or they are listed on my eBay. Each Bell jar is 3cm wide and 5cm tall. I have more pictures of the individual jars but tumblr's formatting has decided not to work today.

hey not to freak anyone out but um. idk how much longer i'm gonna be able to write fanfic and contribute to fandom under these new UK online safety act laws

if you don't know, the online safety act is a series of laws passed to "protect children" from "extreme pornography" or "harmful content" online by requesting ID verification for certain websites. it's not being debated or proposed in parliament, it has already passed and is in effect

those terms are vague enough, but here's the thing: this law includes any website with user-generated content or even a search function. this is almost every site. it includes sfw hobby forums that have already had to shut down because they can't comply

given my home life and the fact i'm in the closet, i cannot safely tie my real life identity to my fandom stuff (nor should anyone even if they're out with a supportive family). i can use a VPN, sure, but they've been talking about cracking down on VPN use in the name of upholding the integrity of these new laws since 2022. using a VPN could get me investigated if they apply this to the act and that's not safe for me either

fuckin' sucks and i only found out about all this yesterday, but. yeah. i don't think it's safe for me to be writing fanfic right now. it seems like only a matter of time before writing and distributing it falls under these vaguely defined "pornographic and harmful content" laws

there's a petition to repeal the act here (please only sign if you're in the UK) and i also encourage everyone in the UK to write to their MPs because this is just a blatant invasion of privacy by the government that makes almost every adult that complies with this law vulnerable to data breaches. the government should be ashamed of themselves for using kids as pawns, btw. this is going to endanger kids when they look for "pornographic and harmful content" in shadier places that don't gaf about complying with age verification laws

a thing (or two things) i liked about the movie is how joe and quynhs characterizations subverted the expectations that they would be angry characters. i will never stop taking victory laps about how I WAS RIGHT about joe being so vocally angry because he cares, and he’s an emotionally reactive guy in the moment, and NOT because he’s a particularly angry person. i was right about that and i will never shut up about it!!! thank you.

quynh i was honestly so, so scared for, i was dreading this movie because of how i thought she’d be portrayed. and she was angry but that clearly came from a place of hurt. she was deeply traumatized and we can see that. and i’m gonna give a LOT of credit to van veronica ngo here because oh my god that woman is a force. even when they were fighting i felt how in pain she was. she wasn’t crazy, she was sad. she was so human. i have other things to say about quynh’s treatment in the narrative generally that i might share once i get my thoughts together, but wow. van. you queen.
