sometimes taking care of yourself isn’t just drinking more water or taking a nice bath with some bath bombs or treating yourself to sweets. sometimes it’s taking a shower in the morning even if you don’t even want to get up, putting yourself out there and socializing, telling yourself everything will work out, taking a break from work midday to have a good laugh. in whatever way you need to, just make sure you’re taking care of yourself today.

Even at my skinniest (9th grade, 120 lbs) I still thought I was fat.
I remember telling my best friend I had thunder thighs. And her laughing, trying to tell me I was nowhere near fat.

TIPS FOR EATING LESS THAT DON’T INVOLVE ACTUALLY EATING LESS
🍨 🥄 Use small spoons. I’m serious. Get the smallest spoons you can find and eat everything with them. It will take way longer to eat something and you will feel more full. 🥄 🍨
🍿 ✍️ Use chopsticks for things you don’t need spoons for. Can’t use chopsticks? Great, too bad. Use them anyway. If you’re very good at using chopsticks, switch hands. Eating will be frustrating and slow, and you might end up deciding it’s not even worth it to eat right now. ✍️ 🍿
🥞 🍴 If you’re eating something too big to put in your mouth all at once (like steak, toast, a whole cucumber) cut it into tiny pieces. But not all at once – just cut one piece and then eat it and then another piece. Make every piece as miniscule as possible. Chew 20 times. 🍴 🥞
🍹 🥃 If you’re craving some kind of non-water drink, get a shotglass. First measure how much it holds (so you can record how much you drank, if you count calories). Then pour yourself a shot. You can have as much of the drink as you want, but only from a shotglass. Preferably, take a gulp of water between each shot. 🥃 🍹
🍲 🔪 If you can, make even small meals into an ordeal. Eat every apple with a knife. Cut your toast into complex shapes before eating. Cut your carrots into the thinnest matchsticks possible. Count to thirty in a foreign language between each bite, or count backwards from 90 in pairs of 3, if you don’t speak any other languages. 🔪 🍲
🍏 🍉 🍑 🥗 Do whatever you can to make eating tedious, time-consuming, and unenjoyable. I find myself looking forward to a meal a lot less if I know i’ll have to cut it into 50 pieces first. 🍏 🍉 🍑 🥗
