Personal blog, I don't post a single theme so if you're following purely for one thing, you'll likely be disappointed. I draw nonsense and open for commissions

Bug Crossing 🐛
I got the idea for this piece on a sunny day a while ago after seeing a beetle in the park struggle to get across the hot tarmac path, just a silly visual to explore the question of how much we should be mindful of the wildlife we share a habitat with - they live here too!

Look at this good fuzzy Little Guy. Nut-tree tussock moth AKA the original flying kitten. The pollinating tabby cat of the nighttime skies 🦋🐈🐾 (Moths are important pollinators - they're the night shift, clocking in when the bees go to bed.)

Also yes, I am still alive. Apparently.
Going through the motions of getting assessed mentally and physically (start physiotherapy next Friday, waiting on an autism and ADHD diagnosis, as well as an anxiety/depression risk assessment next Tuesday, and trialing out different sleeping tablets whilst waiting on a sleep clinic referral).
Spending most of my days trying to do as much gardening as my body will allow, and reading. Currently reading an anthology of queer pulp called ‘I Want That Twink Obliterated!’.
Trying to paint but it’s really hard to get myself to do it, so much more challenging than it should be.
But yes, despite my body and mind’s best attempts, I am somehow still kicking around.

When you post about your depersonalisation issues and the fedoras come out of the woodwork. Quite literally in one case.

Not only did I watch it, I also had the VHS special in which if you pressed the raised bit it flashed and played a tune.

So my appointment with the counsellor was so much more productive than I could have hoped.
Not only did I get a prescription for a mild sleeping tablet whilst they look into a sleep clinic referral for me, they also booked me in for a physio appointment to look into my hyper mobility and joint pain.
The best bit, however, was them filling in and sending off an ADHD referral as well as starting an autism one.
Finally got an appointment with the counsellor tomorrow to discuss my distinct inability to sleep.
It only took 3 months after my initial shit show of a call with a doctor who completely dismissed me and told me to just take paracetamol before bed every night and try harder, all while having opened with “I don’t believe in medication”.
Made a list of points to cover in the appointment, hopefully something good comes of it.
