Thinking about Luke and his snack box

.
What’s even in it?
It looks like tic tacs, crackers, dried meat, a granola bar thing and potentially space peanuts?

By the way guys I DID end up writing a fic for this— chapter 1 is up now on ao3, I’ve got the same username over there
Star Wars Rebels should have had a beach episode, I will die on that hill and you can argue with the wall.
It didn’t have to be exactly a beach episode- maybe whatever the space equivalent is to that. It would have been so fun to see them taking a break (a well deserved one that) and just chill, plus it would have been another great chance to expand the character dynamics and relationships.
Like just hear me out, it could have taken place during any of the 4 seasons but from vibes alone I think season 1 or 2 would work best. plot wise it would just be that for whatever reason the Ghost Crew is at a beach and taking a day off. During the episode, Ezra, Sabine and Zeb come across some Imperial scheme and chaos ensues as they try to deal with it without alerting Kanan and Hera and ruining their time off. It would be sorta similar vibes to season 1 episode 4. Nothing complicated, just a fun episode following their shenanigans.

Hera trusts Kanan most of the time, but sometimes the timing when he has to do his (not magic) Jedi stuff is so suspiciously convenient...
Her teen son is having a hair crisis, and her husband is talking to a tree or a spider or a rock.

It’s a silly but wholesome detail, having Kanan actually pause to explain what some Jedi thing is to Ezra periodically throughout Rebels, especially the early seasons. Because while it’s obvious to the average Jedi and viewer what a lightsaber or a Kyber Crystal is- of course Ezra doesn’t and why would he? The average person in the galaxy especially post fall of the Republic probably doesn’t know what most of these “obvious” terms are.
I especially appreciated Kanan referring to lightsabers as laser swords when talking to Ezra. It makes it feel more mystical idk if that makes sense, cause Ezra is still so new to the whole Jedi thing so Kanan is just doing his best to make it all as simple as possible for the kid.

Yall I might write smth on ao3 for this idk, there’s a distinct drought in content for Ezra post season 4
Not to bring down the mood, but I seriously can’t stop thinking about how awful it must have been for Ezra after launching himself and Thrawn into unknown regions.
Like Ezra was 19 at MOST, he had just lost his father figure and all of a sudden he was in a completely new galaxy extremely isolated and injured. It’s implied in the show that at no point were Ezra and Thrawn working together (which is a shame because that could have been a really interesting dynamic) so odds are Ezra had to go off on his own to survive away from the remaining imperials, while still injured from that gun shot btw.
It’s crazy to imagine how hard the first while was for him after they all got stranded. Like, this kid was probably still actively grieving the fact that Kanan died as well as literally everything that happened between that point and the finale- and all of a sudden he’s launched into a new galaxy left to go through that process alone. Also slight side tangent, but I wonder if he ever got to see Kanan as a force ghost, or if he was just alone for the entire ordeal (apart from the turtle guys he befriended at some point)
(Also try not to think about how he had to get used to being alone and relying solely on himself again after he had finally learned to trust and rely on other people who cared about him)

Whenever people argue that Ezra's arc with the dark side is weak because it is resolved relatively quickly, I feel like they're mildly missing the point.
Unlike many other people who fell prey to the the allure of the dark side of the force, Ezra has an extremely strong emotional support group. Zeb and Hera cheer for him in the little ways that they can; and they can actively detect not only that he is behaving bizarrely, but also why.
Furthermore, Ezra's answer was palpable. He'd just lost both of his parents and he thought it was because they listened to his message. He thought Ahsoka's assumed death was his fault and that Kanan didn't even want to be near him anymore. He is trying to carry the entire weight of the world on his shoulders, being groomed by the Holocron because he's high strung over his desperation to keep people safe; and in that position, everything seems like a threat.
Which is why the second Kanan also allows himself to be vulnerable, Ezra snaps back so quickly. He needed the confirmation of someone he had "hurt" to assure him that whenever he stumbled, he would catch him. That he didn't even need to carry the earth at all.
There's also the fact that Ezra was not being groomed in the same way as other characters. Maul was there for a short period of time, and that wasn't enough for him to completely make Ezra isolate himself.

I humbly offer the in universe Star Wars timeline I made. It’s missing a few of the games and I completed it right before Tales of the Underworld came out, but other than that it’s got most of the main stuff.
