"Director Phoebe Kemp said in a statement: “Twelfth Night already toys with gender and performance – it feels like Shakespeare wrote it for us. This reading is about joy, solidarity and showing what’s possible when trans and nonbinary artists are at the centre of the story.”"

"This fic is literally just porn, why do you care about the quality of the editing" unfortunately, both my brain and my dick have strong opinions about verb tenses.

Sibling dynamics are kind of an untapped gold mine in media. Relationships between siblings can be so weird. We experienced the same childhood but in very different ways. I helped raise you. You helped raise me. You’re the only person I’ve ever really punched. You drive me fucking crazy but if anyone ever hurt you I’d chase them to the ends of the earth. You’re the only one who understands what it was like to see our parents slowly come to hate one another. Stop stealing my fucking socks.

A while back a post was going around saying, to paraphrase very, very simply that subsistence farming must’ve been shitty because so few people do it now. My initial thought was to simply reply that if that had commonly been the case then enclosure probably wouldn’t have needed the threat of state violence to accomplish. I let it go at the time but it must’ve still been kicking around in my head because yesterday while I was thinking about “general strike farms” it floated to the surface again.
I think so many people have an entirely misinformed view of what “subsistence farming” looked like historically because the term makes them think of the settler “sodbuster” dragging the plow his wife is driving because they can’t afford a work animal yet. American pioneer farming was an historical anomaly and the result of people lacking the support of an existing community and infrastructure. Commons were once commonplace and we’re expected to forget that.

Gentle reminder that the human eye is naturally drawn by noise and movement, so the next time you walk into a crowd or a bit late into a lecture or something like that, they’re not staring at you or judging; it’s just an instinctive reaction that has nothing to do with you doing anything wrong.
