this mood board shows images of the weapons needed to research for my 3D project, the main think i noticed about these weapons is they are all fun or comedy alternatives, even in serious games such as dead space and gears of war where the story and tone of the games are much darker compared to games which are more light hearted such as worms or ratchet and clank. my favourite is the hand cannon, as its extremely funny and made even funnier as its from a serious horror game.

what is maya?
maya is a programme designed to create 3D models of assests for games and 3D printers. animators can also use maya to create their 3D character designs within their animations. this means maya can also be used to create cut scenes within games and animated movies/shorts.

my map so far, as you can tell i still need to do more work, such as smaller details, better colouring, and more functionality.
here ive made a tree stump with the same graphics as the rest of the map, this will help to add an element of detail and realism to my finished map
my map so far. i have added more details as planned along with more colour to make it more vibrant i have added the tree stump i designed and am happy with the progress so far, but i feel i need to do more to finish it.

here i have designed a box using the maya software, i wanted to use a cardboard box as a ches,t weather it be a loot chest a reward chest or a finisher. i used quicksel mixer to colour the box and get it as acurate as possible for my game.

i have found a problem, this is suposed to be a hole in the box but it a ccidentally added a block i boolened in maya when making the box. i dont know how to fix this problem, it is only happing when i export the box i have try to fix this i dont know how to fix it, but i will figure it out.
this looked good whilst in the maya programme but when i exported it into quicksel mixer it deleted the minusing out of the item

you want uv shell
then you want to move it so the uv is no over lapping in the uv
i separated my uv but there is a problem with it the is a werd looking bit on the uv and i worry it will effect the texturing prosece
now i need to put it in mixer/photoshop for texturing of my cardbord box
