One of my brothers has this thing where he likes to be included on sibling movie night but he will not sit down or actually join us, he’ll just wander around the house and periodically show up to lurk in the doorway or lean on someone’s seat

And *I* have this thing where I always always know when he’s there, because every time he’s not wandering around like the ghost of bob marley and isn’t immediately visible it’s because he’s stopped moving to watch the film from directly behind me, which makes the back of my neck tingle like a dog sensing an earthquake

Which has on more than one occasion resulted in me interrupting the movie to tell him to just sit the fuck down and stop lurking in the shadows, Jesus Christ, it’s like I’m being haunted by the memory of ancient sins

Which has in turn been shortened to just “ancient sins”, every time I feel him doing it again

So to summarize, sometimes when my siblings and I get together for a movie night, we’ll all be sitting in the dark in complete silence until my ass deadpan announces “ancient sins” and a 90 pound 5’11” Slenderman looking motherfucker emerges from the shadows behind me like a jumpscare incarnate in Batman pajamas pants and informs me that we are out of orange soda

You are entitled to dislike or even hate a ship. If you want to do this online, in public, don’t use the ship tags for hate posts.

If you see someone posting about a ship they like and you don’t, there is no need for you to start arguing with them in their replies / comments / QRTs / reblogs. Don’t throw your hate in their face.

Do not harass fan creators or fans for shipping something you disapprove.

All of this also applies to liking / disliking an individual character.

One of my favorite things to do when I'm not actively engaged in something is to spin scenarios in my head with various characters. It helps me realize things about the characters that I didn't know before.

Today I realized that the tech guy in Blog of a Teenage Superhero was motivated in learning his craft (controlling computers and technology) because then he could find and wipe out every digital record of his beloved cousin's worst day.

The paper records, and anything digital that isn't stored in a computer connected to the internet exists, but the rest of it? Gone.

He couldn't protect her when it happened. He didn't even know how to find her, but now, nobody and nothing will drag that up out of the depths of the internet.

I'm still working on my Jedi Batman story. I'm just a bit stuck on Gotham. I did have one idea where Gotham and Metropolis were the same planet, just that Metropolis got more sun than Gotham because of planetary tilt...

I just know that Gotham, Metropolis, Star City.... they'll all be in the story as places our rebel team goes. And they'll have run ins with the Justice League as other Rebels.

I'm feeling like the Flash group are fighter pilots. No time travel stuff, but if you want fast...

Green Arrow has to be an undercover spy who's turning point was crashing on an isolated planet where he got the full run down of the darker side of Imperialism and came back whom pretending to be loyal. (I know the TV Arrow verse version, but not the comics. I'm working on that.)

I want Clark to come from Agamar. (In the Legends 'verse, Agamar is an agricultural world. I know in the Star Wars X-Wing book Wraith Squadron they used the stereotype of Agamarians as a cover that was a bit more of the Appalachian stereotype than the Midwestern, but I figure it's pretty close.)

Diana feels like she should be a Jedi. I'm not sure though. OH, or maybe from Naboo?

The Green Lanterns... Hal is from Corellia.

Aquaman is a Nautolan.

(I'm just thinking of all the people I'm vaguely aware of... like Beast Boy is a Claudite. Maybe Raven is a Night Sister... not sure about Star Fire. Roy is a Mando kid... through some set up he ends up at the Imperial Academy on Oliver Queen's planet and that's how they end up together... Captain Marvel is another pilot who only shows up to the fight, he's not on a team, per-say. (I'm thinking a kid who has a tinted canopy and voice modulator. Definitely Force sensitive. Picturing Anakin in The Phantom Menace))

AO3 and Tumblr can never go down for maintenance at the same time because there would be no one to watch their children (us, the users) and there’s too many of us to hire a babysitter

This is bugging me because everyone keeps asking us this and making me feel underprepared. For context, I fly out a week from today for Scotland. For the last two weeks, people have been asking me if I've got everything packed yet.

I typically don't start packing until 2-3 days before, and when I tell them this, they look at me like I'm nuts.

Am I really that unusual?
