Special Delivery (Cayde-6 x Reader)

"Here are the items you missed on your last mission. Hope to see you again!" You said to a fellow Guardian. He thanked you and walked off.

Today, you were helping your friend Kadi55-30 at the postmaster office. The other day you saw how much items she had to deliver and asked if she wanted help. Kadi nodded eagerly and thanked you in advance.

Another Guardian walked up to you.

"Name please." You said sweetly.

"Nina!" The Guardian stated, smiling brightly.

You walked to the back of the small vendor and looked in the 'N' section. You found a small box with a hand canon and a warlock arm band. You walked back and placed the box in front of the girl.

"Here you go Nina! All the stuff you missed on your last mission. Enjoy!" You said. Nina nodded and giggled before skipping away.

"(Y/N), do you mind making a few delivers for me?" Kadi asked, as she walked up next to you.

"Sure! Just tell me where to take them." You reply. Kadi waddles to the back and returns with a stack of colorful boxes. She hums while she unstacks them. You knew a few of the names on the boxes and blinked in surprise when you see a box for a certain Exo. You gently picked it up and attempted to see what was inside. Before you could get a peak, Kadi made a squealing noise. You looked up and saw her rush towards you.

"You okay Kadi?" You asked, voice full of worry. Kadi gently took the box from you and taped the top shut. You gave her a questioning look.

"It's a s-special order for Cayde." Kadi tried to explain, her voice cracking a little. You nodded slowly and picked up all the other boxes.

"Please don't open it again." Kadi said quietly.

"I won't. I promise." You reassured her, walking off to deliver the packages.

You headed towards the Bazaar and climb some stairs that lead to Guardian apartments.

You quickly arrived on to the first stop and placed the box at the door. You rang the door bell and skipped away.

Next, you took the elevator and went up to floor 4. You walked down the hall and found the correct room. You rang the doorbell and a Guardian answered. You happily handed them their deliver and they thanked you before running inside excitedly to open it.

Now, all you had to do was deliver Cayde's package. You knew he wasn't at his apartment. He was probably at his Vanguard station in the Hangar. You hummed as you made your way to Cayde's area.

There were a few Hunters talking with the Exo. They needed a quest to do together and Cayde was deciding which one to give them. You patiently waited until he was free.

"(Y/N)! How's my favorite Guardian?" Cayde said, eyes twinkling.

"Hey Cayde. I'm helping Kadi today and she needed me to deliver this to you." You replied, placing the box on the table. Cayde quickly grabbed it and looked at you.

"You... didn't happen to open it, did you?" He asked. You shook your head. Cayde let out a sigh of relief.

"What did you get?" You asked, still curious.

Cayde looked over to you, eyes searching your face. He scratched the back of his head awkwardly before he gently grabbed your arm and pulled you behind his workspace. You blushed as he turned to you. You could feel him heating up.

"I umm.. I actually g-got something for you..." Cayde said, resting the box in your arms. Your face lit up and you quickly open the package.

Inside, was a custom made cloak. It was black, blue, and white. There were a few stripes on it but what caught your attention were the symbols at the bottom. There was a white Ace of Spaces and blue Heart.

"I hope you l-like it.. the Ace is to remind you of me and the Heart is for umm..." Cayde trailed off, looking at the floor. "It means... that.. you are my Queen of Hearts... so... it's us..."

You squealed and jumped onto Cayde, wrapping your arms and legs around him. He let out a yelp before chuckling and wrapping his arms around you tightly.

"Thank you Cayde. I love it so much!!!" You said before peppering his face with kisses.

Cayde heated up even more and started to stuttered while you stopped and realized what you had done.

You pulled away and hid your face in the new cloak. Cayde shook his head before walked over to you and pulling you tightly against him. He gently tilted your head to look up and he pressed his lips against yours. The kiss was gentle and sweet. Cayde hummed happily and you wrapped your arms around his neck.

You two separated and blushed madly at one another. Cayde stepped around you and took off your cloak before putting on the one he got you. You twirled around and giggled as Cayde whistled is amusement.

"Looks good on you, (Y/N)." He said, voice full of admiration. You bowed gracefully before hugging him.

"Thank you Cayde. This is the best gift I have ever received." You said, kissing his horn. Cayde's face heated up and snuggled into you hug.

"Do you have to help Kadi more or can you stay here with me?" Cayde asked while you two walked back to his station.

"I'm sure Kadi can hold down the fort." You said, taking his hand in yours. Cayde kissed the top of your hand. A few Guardians giggled and cheered. You blushed while Cayde chuckled.

The rest of the day consisted of kisses, helping Cayde assign jobs, and tickle fights. And later that day, you and Cayde cuddled the night away.

Every time this Ghost and Cayde dialogue comes up during The Arms Dealer, this amuses me and makes me smile.  I think I just really enjoy their interaction here, especially considering how things went in my fic.  It just makes me think that, yeah, Cayde can try Ghost’s patience at times but, deep down, Ghost likes Cayde and considers him a friend.  I also get that feeling in one other mission, it’s one of the Mercury missions (I forgot the name at the moment), when we have to destroy something causing a problem and Ghost’s response is: ‘Well, let’s blow it up.’.  And I’m like: That’s such a Cayde line.  You’ve been hanging around Cayde too much, Ghost, and I love it.  You can’t tell me otherwise.

Nightmare Cayde-6 x Reader

Becoming a Guardian was the best thing that had ever happened to you. Protecting the universe was always exciting. And, you had made so many friends during your adventures. But, there was a downside. You often had hellish nightmares. They were bad at first, not allowing you to sleep. But after awhile, you managed to get a four to six hours of sleep every night.

Tonight's nightmare, though, was not one that was easy to forget.

In your nightmare, you had been assigned to hunting down a small group of bandits out in the EDZ. Zavala said that it was going to be quick and easy. You gathered your weapons and flew to the location of the bandit camp. After scouting the area, you took out your hand cannon and advanced on the group. You quickly took out the snipers and rolled behind a rock as the rest of the bandits shot at you. After reloading, you activated your Golden Gun and took out the remaining bandits. Or so you thought.

A few bandits returned from a run and saw you taking out their group. You hadn't noticed them when they arrived, and they easily cornered you. They demanded you surrender, which you did, but you quickly sent out an SOS. You threw down all your weapons and put your hands up.

The bandits rushed towards you and tied your hands behind your back. They whispered about selling you to some Guardian hunter and threw you against a rocky wall in their camp. You groaned in pain and just sat there, knowing someone was going to come to your aid soon.

And indeed, someone did. A ship flew over the camp and as it did, a certain Hunter Vanguard appeared in front of everyone.

The bandits freaked out upon seeing Cayde. They quickly pulled out their auto rifles and shot him.

"Hey (Y/N)~! I got your distress signal and I'm here to rescue you!" Cayde shouted heroically as he dove for cover.

"Thank god! I was getting bored!" You called back. You heard Cayde chuckle and poke out from behind a tree to shoot the enemies. The few bandits remaining began to run away, trying to escape their death. But, Cayde quickly shot them down before they could get too fair.

He came out from behind his hiding spot and jogged over to you.

"Don't worry princess, your knight is here!" He said when he got to you. He helped you stand up and untied your wrists.

"Thanks Cayde." You said which stretching. Cayde winked.

"Alrighty lets head back to the Tower. I, sadly, have more paperwork to do." He whined. You laughed and bent down to grab your weapons. When you stood back up, your eyes widened.

"Cayde! GET DOWN!" You screamed. Cayde turned to see what was behind him. There, was an injured bandit with a hand gun pointed straight at him. A shot rang through the air and the next thing you knew, Cayde was on the ground.

"No!" You yelled, running to him. But, you couldn't reach him. The distance between you two kept growing. Cayde groaned in pain and kept calling for you, while you shouted his name back. You heard menacing laugh in the distance before you tripped. You fell and screamed as the world slowly grew black.

You jolted awake. Your breathing was wild and you were covered in sweat. Ghost appeared next to you.

"(Y/N)? Are you alright?" Ghost asked. He floated towards you and nuzzled your neck. You pulled him into a small hug and tried to calm your breathing.

"I... just had a nightmare." You whispered to Ghost. It made a sound of acknowledgment and pressed himself tighter into the hug. This lasted for awhile until you fully calmed down and got up. You needed some air. Quickly changing into a casual outfit, you wandered outside.

You walked to the courtyard of the Tower and leaned in the rails to look over the city. A breeze blew through your hair and you exhaled, the nightmare was still weighing on you. It felt so realistic. Losing someone so close to you, someone you loved, was something you always feared.

You shuddered after recalling the dream again. You needed to see Cayde. Make sure he was alive and safe. You turned and sprinted to his room to find the exo. You passed a few Guardians who were sitting around chatting, probably unable to sleep too. You reached his door, and paused. You didn't want to wake him, but you needed to see him. After knocking a few times and getting no answer, your heart sank. Your Light flickered in sadness. Ghost appeared after feeling your distress.

"Hey, maybe he's in his usual spot in the hanger?" He said. You nodded slowly before jogging to the hanger.

Upon reaching the area, you let out a huge sigh of relief. There was Cayde, leaning over a map on his desk. Sundance was floating next to him and when she saw you, she bumped the exo.

"Hm? What is it buddy?" He asked. He looked at his Ghost and turned his head to follow her gaze. His eyes brightened up when he was you.

"(Y/N)! What brings you..." He trailed off upon seeing the state you were in. He could sense how dim your Light was, indicating that something was seriously wrong. He made his way over to you and checked you for any injuries. When he finished, his bright blue eyes met yours. His face took on a worried look when he saw leftover tear marks.

"What happened (Y/N)?" he whispered while taking your hand. You looked down and quickly broke into tears again. Cayde gently took you into his arms and held you close as you cried. He was warm and you easily melted into his arms. You gripped onto him as if he was going to vanish into thin air if you didn't. Cayde whispered soothing words into your ear, reminding you that the two of you were safe. Sundance and your Ghost floated near, watching your and Cayde's Light intertwine. After what seemed like years, you let go of him and dried your face. Cayde stepped back and put his hands on his hips.

"So, are you going to tell me what happened?" He asked. He grabbed a nearby chair and sat down. You stood in front of him and took a breath. Sundance settled down in Cayde's lap and your Ghost rested on your shoulder.

"I just... had a really bad nightmare." You said quietly. Cayde nodded.

"What happened in it?" He said. You lowered your head and shook it. You did not want to share what you saw. Cayde grunted as he stood up. He grabbed your arm and slowly traced little circle on your skin with his thumb.

"Come on, (Y/N). Please tell me." He pleaded. You looked into his eyes. He was sad and extremely worried about you. You nodded.

"It started off fine. I was on an easy mission. Then, things got out of hand. I needed help and you showed up to help me. You saved me but then..." You gulped and Cayde rubbed your arm, encouraging you to go on.

"And then, you got shot... I tried to run to you, b-but I couldn't get to you... It was terrible. And it felt so real."

Cayde hummed and took a step back. You looked up at him with watery eyes. He placed a hand on your cheek and lightly wiped your eyes. You leaned into his touch.

"Well, that was pretty awful. I can't believe I died in such a stupid way." Cayde said while laughing quietly. You giggled a little too. Cayde smiled and took you in his arms again. You blushed when he placed his forehead against yours.

"But, I'm here (Y/N). And I'm not going anywhere. I have to protect the galaxy, you know. And, I would never leave you alone."

You looked up at him and tightened your hug. Cayde chuckled and squeezed you back. Sundance and Ghost looked happily at each other, as your Light had been restored to its usual brightness.

You went to move away from the hug, but Cayde tightened his hold. You gave him a questioning look before he pecked your forehead. Your face blew up into a huge blush and hid in his chest. Cayde laughed.

"Thank you for helping me feel better, Cayde." You said, still hiding.

"Anytime (Y/N). I'm always here for my favorite Guardian."

After hearing that, you drew all your courage and got up on your tiptoes. You pressed your lips to Cayde's faceplates. His blue eyes widen, and his face began to heat up. After a second, he responded to your kiss and pressed against your lips. You guys shared a long kiss before pulling apart.

Your face was all red and Cayde's temperature had risen pretty high. You giggled at the embarrassed exo. Sundance also laughed at her Guardian. Cayde gave her a semi-mean glare before turning back to you.

"Alright, well, how about I treat you to some late night ramen?" Cayde asked after he recovered from embarrassment. You nodded happily. Cayde took your hand in his and the two of you strolled to the courtyard to eat.

Your Ghosts followed behind, happy to see their Guardians' Light brighter than it had been ever before.

Recovery (Cayde-6 x Reader)

“Hey Y/N, duck!” Your teammate yelled as he threw a grenade over your head. You dove behind a rock and covered your ears as the explosive blew up the enemy team.

You and your teammate rushed towards the point and began to capture it. You didn’t notice that one of the members of the enemy team managed to dodge the grenade, and took aim at you.

Before you could react, you got shot in the back, causing you to cry out and fall to the ground. Your teammate quickly took out the enemy and fully captured the point.

A bell went off and Zavala’s voice was heard, congratulating your team on the win. One of your teammates helped you up. You winced and hissed in pain at the small wound on your lower back.

“We should get that looked at. I’ll take you to the infirmory.” She said, and slung your arm around her shoulder.

You guys walked a little before making it to The Farm. You headed towards the medical building until a certain Vanguard saw you walk by.

“Woah woah! What happened?” Cayde-6 asked as he casually walked over.

“Y/N got injured during our match. I was walking her to the infirmary to get treated.” Your teammate stated. Cayde’s face became filled with worry.

“I’ll take her there. She’s one of my Hunters, so I’ll make sure she gets all patched up.” He said, as he grabbed your waist and lightly picked you up bridal style. You squeaked and winced before letting out a sigh, happy to be off your feet. Your teammate giggled before skipping away.

Cayde held you tightly and jogged towards the infirmary. He looked down at you, examining for any other wounds and smiled when he didn’t find anymore. You blushed and turned your head away.

Once entering the medical building, a doctor escorted the two of you to a room and a nurse quickly came to patch you up.

The nurse slid your cape off and pushed up your shirt. Cayde’s eyes widened at your exposed skin and quickly looked away. His face felt like it was on fire and he tried desperately to cool it down. After the nurse stitched up your wound, she put a large bandage on your back. She handed you your cape and turned to Cayde, who was facing the wall and fanning his face.

“Okay, she’s all taken care of. But, I would like you to watch over her and make sure she doesn’t go on any missions and gets some rest. She needs a lot of time to recover.” Cayde nodded and the nurse left the room.

You slowly slide off the medical bed and put back on your cape. Cayde opened the door for you and you both exited the room.

Back outside, Cayde turned to you. “Hey, do you want me to take you back to your place or...” he trailed off.

“Hmm.. I mean, I should be resting, but I really don’t want to lay around at home all day.” You stated. Cayde nodded slowly, thinking of something that you could do.

“Hey, why don’t you help me with handing out quests and stuff.” He suggested. You smiled brightly at him and eagerly nodded your head. Cayde smiled back and began to walk towards the barn.

You followed behind him and eventually you guys arrived at Cayde’s area of the building. A few Guardians were already there, eager to take on a new job. You waved to the few you recognized and helped Cayde pass out each quest.

This went on for most of the day. New Guardians would show up and excitedly take whatever job Cayde had to offer.

After working late into the evening, Cayde decided to call it a night. He just finished putting everything away when he heard a small groan and a thump from behind him. He spun around and saw you on the floor, holding you back. Cayde panicked and scooped you up and he dashed to his room.

Once inside, he lightly put you on his bed and rolled you over. You winced and looked at your wound. It was lightly bleeding, and it would need a new bandage. Cayde ran off to get a first aid kit. He returned and instantly set to work. He removed the soiled bandage and cleaned the injury.

After a while, the exo shyly pulled your shirt back down and moved back a little.

“Thanks Cayde.” You whispered, before slowly sitting up. Cayde nodded and put the kit away. He returned to see you resting on one of his pillows.

You looked up when you heard him walk back into the room.

“Cayde, I really appreciate you looking after me today.” You told him while moving off the bed.

“Hey. It was no problem. I like to make sure my Guardians are always safe and healthy.” Cayde said and winked. You blushed and headed to the front door. You opened it but stopped. You slowly turned and looked at the Hunter. Cayde tilted his head in curiosity.

“What’s wrong?” He asked. You blushed before slowly walking up to him. He froze when you stopped in front of him. He blinked and looked down at you.

“U-Uh... Y/N?” He stuttered. You let out a shaky breathe and got on your tiptoes.

You gently kissed his cheek and pulled away. You stood there for a moment and whispered “thank you” before turning around to leave.

Cayde’s face blew up in a blush and his circuits heated up dangerously hot. His crush had just kissed him. He saw you turned and rush to leave, but before you could, he wrapped his arms around your waist and spun you around.

He grabbed your cheeks and pulled you into a light kiss. You squeaked in surprise and instantly melted into the kiss.

After a few seconds, you two pulled away. Cayde smiled widely before resting his forehead against yours and chuckling. You giggled too and hugged him tightly.

“Wow. I never thought my favorite Guardian would ever have feelings for me.” Cayde said, pecking your cheek. You blushed and leaned into his chest.

“Yeah. I never thought the mighty Cayde-6 would like me.” You said back, while wiggling your eyebrows. Cayde laughed.

“I love you Y/N.”

“Mmm, I love you too Cayde.”

Heyo guys. This is going to be the blog where I post most of my writings.

For now, I want to focus on CaydexReader stories because there aren’t many. But I will do a variety of other characters from anime or others games in the future!
