wait- oh my god...

I was thinking about the Divine AU for Phandrow and you know what, I realized I'm actually weak and soft and totally smitten for this....

A healthy god/mortal relationship... With one whose devotion is so strong and unwavering and reverent and awed, it's literally worship... And the other, a god long given up to vanity and self-obsession, becoming so obsessed with a mortal that he remembers his mission and ability to serve those with less power than he. A god who is humbled, for the first time in literal ages, by love.

None of this is a new story, I'm sure, but it also captures something I love about this ship in a really maximalist way. The poor unfortunate artist with a pure heart, and the one who has fame and glory but needs to be taught something. It's always something of a fairy tale, or a myth.

Phantom realizing Woodrow has been praying ardently to him for most of his life, but the Fates blocked his messages from reaching the heavens... And promising to answer his each and every prayer from now on... and maybe even some things he never would have dared dream to ask for.
