Is it just me or is GMMTV generally filming more "slowly" than they were in the recent past (i.e. Qs spread out a lot more and shows being in pre- and post-prod longer)? Granted I think Summer Night had a fast post-prod period, but they did film for 4 months.

I don't have enough data to make a generalized statement about that lol but if we look at this year's lineup then a lot of the shows seem to be going slower than last year. most of the productions that are left from the 2024 lineup have been silent since they got announced, though those will inevitably air next year anyway so they surely won't start production for another few months. but for the shows that we do have, you would think that the longer processes make the shows better but so far the lineup has been 💩 so yeah 💀 lmao.

Lengthy filming processes can be excused due to actors' schedules and coordination and all that so I won't judge. But if a show is in post-production for ages and then gives us a shitty result then I will absolutely judge lmao.

but anyway I'm just gonna put my clown makeup on and live my truth that the real showstoppers are still to come lmao so the wait will be worth it 🤡🤡

i recently started watching Love Sea the series which I really like. I tried watching Love In The Air after it first aired but Payu and Rain irritated me entire SOUL, and I kinda just wanna watch for FortPeat - would I be remiss if I just watched the second half of Love In The Air?

If you're only here for ForPeat then I would say you won't miss much if you skip the first half of LITA. You get a little introduction to the characters and some small bits and pieces but besides that there's nothing much going on for PrapaiSky. Plus the fact that it's only 7 episodes and there's a bunch of recaps in part 2 as some of the events from the 2 stories overlap, I would say don't worry about missing out on anything ✌🏻

I have heard the rumblings but I wish I didn't lmao like these bitches really gonna announce another lineup in a few weeks with 19 shows still in their pipeline??? please be fr lmao.

but also we kinda say that every year and somehow it always works out so who are we to judge lol. after the enormous 2024 lineup I was expecting the next one to be in December or January (not split into 2 parts) but anything can happen.

nothing is confirmed and the rumors are mostly coming from the outside rather than the inside so let's wait and see. But I haven't even started to think of any theories yet so... please not in October thank 🙃😬

what did you like and what did you dislike about the trainee? 👀

I liked the close proximity to actual work life, I work in the same field and found a lot of accuracy in the structures and everyday workflows, which gave a nice insight into the industry. I also liked the relationships between mentors and trainees and the positive portrayal of (flat) hierarchies, as well as the messages the mentors and managers were passing on to the interns. So they got a lot of things right when it came to the storylines around work life and career in the film industry, as well as growing up and finding your path in life. Another thing I liked is the cast, they assembled a very skilled and harmonic group who made their characters believable.

The romantic relationships however absolutely went down the drain for me. I cannot say how much I hated the tae-bahmee-judy triangle and the way they handled that, tae and bahmee's relationship was a disaster from the get-go and instead of letting her realize her self-worth and walk away from self-destruction, they made her circle back, gave her next to no character development and baited a relationship with judy on top of it. - I'm not saying they should have ended up together or that there should have been a coming out story etc. because this is not what this show is about - but using judy as a wheel to push bahmee back into her toxic straight relationship and then never mentioning it again is not something you can pull in 2024 in my opinion lol.

Jane and Ryan had a better development but still underwhelming to me. Their story was the 324th iteration of the boss/intern trope we've seen since the dawn of time, which would not have been a dealbreaker for me if it hadn't been so... plain? I didn't see anything that set their story apart from other shows and I didn't see any change in their dynamic compared to their previous works either. Them abandoning the whole story about Nine stealing Ryan's idea and Jane leaving the country after ghosting Ryan right after they start dating, only to come back 5 years(!!!) later without any contact or explanation and no communication whatsoever, and everything is just back to normal? who wrote this lmao. And that's just mentioning some of the writing fails. In the end I tolerated all of it because it's offgun and they made the best of what they were given but regarding the storytelling, this qualifies as their worst show yet.

But anyway I know this show is not a romcom and does not focus on romance and it's not technically a bl nor a gl, but the plots that we did get were not up to par with the rest of it. They seemed forced and lost in the big picture. Looking back it would've been better if they had left out the romance entirely.

I gave the show a 5/10 on MDL, the 5 stars being for the plots outside of the romance and the cast. But overall I'm disappointed.
